I'm just guessing on lineups here and think this will be one heck of a dual.

Iowa

125: Harris/Ybarra

133: Schriever/Teske

141: Bennett/Woods

149: Murin

157: Siebrecht

165: Kennedy

174: Brands

184: Assad

197: Warner

285: Cassioppi

Iowa State

125: Terukina

133: Attasauov/Redding

141: Swiderski

149: Johnson

157: Kraisser

165: Carr

174: Broderson

184: Coleman

197: Bastida

285: Schuyler

Hope we see Woods go in this one.

133, 141, 149, 165, 184, 197 are all very even matchups. If Woods goes, we will know where Swiderski sits. Looking forward to seeing how Kennedy matches up with Carr.

ISU is favored at 125 (assuming Spencer does not go). Iowa is favored at 174, 157 & 285.

Should be a great dual.

125:  Lee TECH Terukina

133:  Teske/Schriever DEC ISU

141:  Woods DEC Swiderski

149:  Murin DEC Johnson

157:  Siebrecht DEC Kraisser

165:  Carr DEC Kennedy

174:  Brands DEC Broderson

184:  Coleman DEC Assad

197:  Bastida DEC Warner (toss up, but Warner, after my positive posting earlier this month, has looked down, plus it's a tough stylistic matchup for him)

285:  Cassioppi MDEC Schuyler

Bottom line, if Iowa wrestles it's best lineup, the dual shouldn't be that close.  The above results that have a decent chance of getting flipped are 141, 149 157, 184, and 197.

I think you are selling Kennedy a little short. He will give Carr everything he can handle.

I agree 141, 149, 157, and 197 are all tossups, but I think ISU should be favored at 184.  I also think 174 should be a tossup because there's no way Brands is 100% healthy rn

I think 133 can be won by ISU also.

I don't think 184 is a toss up, I think ISU is a favorite; I just could see Assad winning it.  I don't think 149 is a tossup either.  Johnson's one good result isn't enough to overcome everything, including squeaking by the Grandview.  141 not a toss up either, Real Woods is a top 3 ranked wrestler.  I have no idea what to make of 157.  Siebrecht is a wild man.  He'll be the favorite on paper, but I think that's a toss up.

Kraisser is also super funky, if you haven't yet go watch the long scramble he had with the Grandview wrestler so I see that being a surprisingly important weight for both schools because 6 team points can happen at any moment.  The only reason I can see 141 potentially going Iowa State's way is just because it's Woods first time down at 141 this year and Swiderski is a little Metcalf on the mat, just relentless.

Oh, I wouldn't be shocked if Swiderski wins.  He's a big time talent.  I just don't think it's a tossup as of now.  A semantics debate.

We shall find out this Sunday and I'm going to be anxious the whole dual, it'll be a fun time!

Lots of competitive weights which will make for an extremely exciting dual.  ISU’s chances hinge greatly on Spencer Lee.  If Lee wrestles, ISU’s chances are extremely slim.  If he’s out this dual is a toss up.

Yeah because it's a swing of likely bonus points from one direction to the other.  Maybe Brands will request to start at 133 so he doesn't have to decide right away and so he can try to get the worse version of Redding and Siwderski off the scale.  Obviously ISU would want to avoid that scenario.

I...disagree.  But would love to be wrong.  If Carr can be bullied, Kennedy is one of the few guys who can do it, but Carr is just a more skilled guy IMO. I think Carr wins something controlled like 5-2.

People are mentioning Lee here as if it's a real thing.  I wouldn't have thought the Spencer Watch would start until mid January or so.

Devils advocate, let's say they start the dual at 133 and it goes like this:

133: Redding dec Teske 3-0

141: Woods dec Swiderski 3-3

149: Murin dec Johnson 3-6

157: Seibrecht dec Kraisser 3-9

165: Carr dec Kennedy 6-9

174: Broderson dec Brands 9-9

184: Coleman dec Assad 12-9

197: Bastida dec Warner 15-9

285: Cassioppi dec Schuyler 15-12

Going into 125 as the final match, Lee could easily bonus Terukina.

To clarify, did Lee have both knees repaired? I know the first surgery was the beginning of January last year. and it went well. Did he have a second surgery on the other knee? If so, when? I would assume he is fully recovered from the first of the knee surgeries being 11 months out now.

i thought he tore one, never got surgery, it healed, blew the other, wasted a year thinking it would heal similarly, it didn't, then had surgery, upon which we are currently waiting.

Do we have any reason to think he'll go this weekend? especially against an athletic kid like terakina (spelling)? I bet they get him ready as slow as possible, give him some gimme wins like PSU, and he rolls into big tens with like 5 matches...

ACL tears do not heal but plenty of folks function without.

sorry, I think the first knee functioned well without and the other didn't for some reason...what i heard, which explains why his status was a mystery till late december last year.

I think Lee will be used sparingly, but I believe (with no inside info) that his final Cy-Hawk Dual will be one of those moments.
