No ... how many time do we have to say it ... NO!

But you might want to check the odds in Iowa, it could still be a good bet.

Can we at least say Oregon has a small chance?  It's logical

Was on the Nike campus couple weeks ago, they've got all their buildings named after import athletes (and some other folks) who've made an impact with Nike apparel in various sports.  Nike developed a wrestling shoe (a lot of input from Mark Johnson & U of Illinois).  I saw no wrestling named building, could've missed it but think my guide would've pointed it out.  Don't think Oregon is getting back on board but again, check the odds in Iowa.

How much can I wager ? Hasn't Nike sold a million pairs of wrestling shoes. Nike could afford to get all 4 teams started . It could be a nice tax write off.

Side note what were you doing on the campus?

Taking a tour, oldest son works there now.

BTW: had coffee with Johnson this morning, told him I was disappointed there was no building with his name.  Nike wrestling shoes were crap when Illinois first started using them, he made a lot of suggestions to improve the shoe.

Back in the day if you saw a dude with a tattoo in hs you knew you were in for a bad time. Then I ran into someone with a tattoo AND a pair of the Illinois special edition Nike shoes. That was most assuredly not a fun time. He was a very, very, very bad man and he bumped up from 189 to prove how bad he was.

Lol when I was nine I wrestled a kid named Steve Neff from Northampton who had a tattoo of a rose on his leg.  He must have been same age as me or similar.  My dad would go on to say it was the only kid I ever faced who was quicker than me.  He beat me in the semis and earned 1st at VEWL while I settled for third for a second time.

9 year old with tattoos are no joke. I think he ended up wrestling for ASU

That's a name I haven't heard for a while. He wrestled in AZ at Red Mountain HS. I might be wrong but I think he lost in the state finals one year. I think it may have been in overtime or right at the end of the 3rd. From what I remember it was a close call at the edge against a guy from I think Carl Hayden.

I recall Kolat having a significant influence on Nike shoes and their development. My teammates and I had several prototypes that were being made for him.  He was under contract at the time.. but sure loved watching Carl Perry win his Natty in a pair.

And there's gotta be a Olympic or World champ who wore Nike and should have a building name, correct?

If there was a way to "accessorize" wrestling with more shit Nike could sell, then they would support wrestling more. Let's face it, wristbands, batting gloves, and a sliding glove or whatever they call it, makes more money than a single pair of wrestling shoes.
