What had Brooks done in Freestyle to shoe that?

Zahid has been beating very high ranked guys in the world.  He dismantled Karimi from Iran, for example.

It was not about who he had a win over in senior freestyle, it was about the kind of wrestler he is. Brooks can wrestle a blistering pace to the final second. Zahid can't.

Zahid has won multiple world seniors rankings tournaments. Brooks was... teched by PD3. Hints? Sure. But don't act like this was expected.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He had the best individual performance of NCAAs, IMO. Didn’t rack up massive bonus but his wins over Hidlay and Keckeisen should have raised eyebrows. Neither came anywhere close to scoring on him.

Brooks Freestyle hype is from his time spent at Colorado Springs.  He was the talk of the town.  His results in college so far had nothing to do with folks saying he was going to close the gap and eventually surpass more seasoned wrestlers.

Which guys? Can't blame em, Zahid looks better, just hits a wall with his gas tank.

Zahid not having a gas tank is part of the sport. Brooks has a huge gas tank. I would have been surprised had Zahid been able to survive and win that match.

Well he plans to add even more beefcake to his physique before OTT... so it could get very interesting.

He'll get better but I think he's not quite ready to snatch the crown from DT.  I'm still staying on the record and for years have said Brooks will be the best wrestler to ever put on a PSU wrestling singlet

You have to start looking not just for past results. Especially with Cael's guys. Look at their progression.

Brooks is much bigger and stronger than the last time they met

Oh wow no way we should pay attention to the best college and RTC in the country for progressive results? Can I get some stock market advice while we are at it?

That hasn't gone unnoticed

Brooks and DT must know he each other pretty darn well.   It's still a very big uphill climb to beat Taylor twice.

Taylor competes next weekend in Pan Ams so we will see what kind of shape he is in soon.

Brooks just came off a long folk season so he is still obviously in shape.

Brooks was DT's +1 in Tokyo.  They are basically dating.

I wonder how Brooks / DT goes down. Might take the Yazdani underhook to pushout approach, but doubt he'll gas like Yazdani did. Not sure Brooks has the hp of Yazdani at this point though, he wasn't able to move Zahid much.

I said it elsewhere, but I refuse to root for NLWC until it's time for the big dance. And

That's a shame.  My favorite aspect of USA wrestling is that I don't have to root for a particular team during the wrestle off process.  Cuz thats all this is.

I meant to infer that I said elsewhere I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks won, and that I don't root for NLWC because I'm IRTC fella. PSU is the crown jewel and NLWC is insane. My fault for poor grammar choices.

Speaking of 125 KG:

If you did not see what Hendrickson did to Bradley then put that on your list too.

Just watched. You know how happy this made me! And Hendrickson/Parris was awesome as well. It's so refreshing to see them looking and moving moving like 74s - Parris nearly ripped his legs off with the laces at the end of the first.

By my count the Hendrickson/Bradley match and Parris/Hendrickson combined for 40 points and 12 abs (Dom Bradley did not contribute to this project).

Can't hardly believe those guys didn't realize Brooks had caught up to and passed Zahid

I think Zahid looked pretty good until he gassed. He had three clean takedowns on Brooks.
