How. Snyder. I have never seen anything like it. Not getting dominated but Yoshida was getting a slight advantage in all exchanges until last 30 seconds. And he is young/stamina and appeared slightly stronger and faster. Brain fart by Yoshida but also the biggest ice in veins moment I have ever seen in world or Olympic final. Maybe Gable S got it beat but dang. Kyle on his way to being our greatest ever. Best bracket run in american history.

UWW does not have to sell streaming rights at all, and if it does it can insist on specific contractual terms.

Gable was gifted the fastest stand up I have ever seen.  Ice, yes - but never should have had the opportunity for that last takedown.

Injuries and drive? When you win Olympic Gold and beat Snyder and Saduleav what else is there. Beating Medved or Satiev's record? Some people dont wanna wrestle 5 cycles into their mid 30s in order to become GOAT. They wanna get on with their life.

Maybe it helped Yoshida as much physically, but he was wrestling almost perfectly.  Snyder needed to refocus do some different things.  It gave him a chance to re-center.

Yazdani is not washed . He was 0.2 sec away from winning against Yoshida and he beat Thazudinov convincingly. He'll be a for next year worlds and Olympics 2028. Unless Azarpira beat him domestically .

 

Sadulaev still great with the best technique but he wrestle more conservative now and his endurance is questionable . Always  a contender.

 

Yoshida is only 20 with a deep gas tank. Snyder and yazdani and Sadulaev would want to avoid him till the final. Better to wrestle him on day 2.  From now on Yoshida is contender.

 

Finally Snyder . I think with today win he's among the goats . And next year worlds in America he can make it 3 in a row . 

 

Last one Thazudinov idk if he should be considered a gold threat at this point . The guy fall is weird considering he's still 23 . 

 

With 4 or 5 who can win gold 97 KG is now the most exciting weight to watch.

Awesome job by both Bassett and Snyder!

I saw yesterday the Bassett Brothers Facebook posted about how Kyle Snyder was a great role model.  I was hoping for some funny comments but was sorely disappointed.
