Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Another step out for GAIDARLI... now leads 3-0

JW is GASSED.

JW tries something dumb and desperate and then completely gives up and goes to his back. If his opponent just laid on him he could have got the fall. JW takes one more shot, ends up looking like he gives up as he lets go of the leg to concede the takedown and get TF'd.

I don't think that performance is going to do much in terms of inspiring TnT or the Hawkeye faithful.

Nothing wrong with losing, but with JW's reputation, those are the poor optics that he should be doing everything in his power to avoid.

NOW a 4 pointer... stick a fork in him, he's done.

TF 10-0 does it.

Not too good of a day.

I think fatigue got to Bo in that sequence.  He should gave up the step out instead of trying to counter while giving up 4 points.

Wow, the bottom has basically dropped out beneath us. I can’t believe it

I feel like Basch and Flo spending a good part of last week creating detailed Hit Lists of American wrestlers who dared to represent other countries at U23's was just setting up the inevitable "if all these kids weren't treasonous monsters, USA would be #1!" cope

A lot of wrestling media seems to be putting way too much stock into domestic results. Looking at today and honestly luke losing still shocks me but we kind of planted our flag with him because he beat spencer who may have been slightly banged up so that means Luke is automatically a top 3 guy in the world when in reality Spencer did not even place last year. Then we have Bo beating Real and yes Real won a medal last year but he also took a few domestic losses and multiple international losses LAST YEAR and really only had one quality win at worlds. Those results were extrapolated out into this year despite him losing twice to a retired wrestler and then missing presumably a decent amount of time with a stpah infection following that. Ultimately I think its really easy to paint the narrative we want to see but the rest of the world is just very good and we may not have been as far ahead as we thought at the age level. I also do not think we sent our best possible team not at 57 or 65 those were our best guys but at 70/79/92/125 we had better options.

An example of what I was trying to say because I think its more clear in my brain than what I articulated. I am supremely confident with Marcus at seniors he won a weight where we had a guy take 5th last year and win a u23 title. Austin desanto was 5th at this weight and he won 5 international tournaments in the last 12 months. Aaron seidel was 4th and bonused his way through u20's some of our weights do not have the kind of depth but we talk about our reps like they do.
