@Husker_Du or @Jason Bryant are the best two to answer this.  I remember PIAA had 6 finalist in 2018 & 7 finalist in 2021 but they never went (1) or (2) the same year at the state tournament

I'm far, far from a historian, but check out '91-'92 AA (1992 tournament, big schools) for Illinois. In particular, 140 had two future NCAA champions (though different years) squaring off in the final https://ihsa.org/data/wr/records/ybyyr5.htm

140 pounds

Place Name School
1 Ernest Benion Romeoville (H.S.)
2 Eric Siebert LaSalle (L.-Peru)
3 Scott Benson Naperville (Central)
4 Jayson Querciagrossa Peoria (Woodruff)
5 Steve Gerstung Arlington Heights (Hersey)
6 Steve Bakey Barrington

In addition, a future NCAA finalist was champ at 103, and a Joe Williams won 152.

'93 also featured 3 future NCAA Champs (TJ Williams in addition to Siebert and Joe Williams from the prior year)

Another random thought - If you won an IHSA title in the AA class at 145 pounds in the '90s, you had an excellent chance of winning an NCAA title later on! https://ihsa.org/data/wr/records/ybych1.htm

This is one of those things where you have to have an idea of a group of wrestlers first rather than data just showing you something. I can pull up the hometowns of every single placewinner in college wrestling (save the NCWA) history, so that can probably get closer. I don't (yet) have a database of state champions and placers to cross reference.
