As for the allegations surrounding PSU/NLWC - and this isn't a "gotcha" or "see, it isn't true because", but there is no action/activity via safesport for any of the wrestlers/coaches/staff.

It would seem there'd be something by now...

I don't want to defend Carter, cuz eff him, but is it possible that Carter is innocent, at least of the really nasty allegations, but he's such an asshole (and in light of all the bad press he's brought on himself) that the staff decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze?

 

I can also imagine happy valley just not being all that much fun and friendly towards him after all these allegations, whether they're true or not

All very possible...

I can also see him trying to take certain liberties with a young Levi Haines on a go-behind and Levi taking exception to this... to the point that one of them eventually had to go.

As for the wrestling program I havent heard any of these snap chat rumors.  State College is a small town and these type of things spread like wild fire and Palacio is on the level of a Pat Mineo.  Guys like @Simpleman424, @Interviewed_at_Weehawken (per usual) and @Caveira are just haters hoping for this to be true which is sad in its own way.    

I think this statement says more about you than us…none of us in any way shape your form have indicated or even relished in the idea that we hope these things are true. From what I’ve read anyway. Pretty cynical and gross you would come to that conclusion…

The guy that’s said numerous times now that the accusations could be greatly exaggerated (in defense of the accused) but it seems like there’s too much there for it to be nothing now hopes it’s true…yea ok. IIRC, didn’t one of Bartlett’s allegations involve explicit images from the locker room being shared on Snapchat as well?  Obviously not the same, but along the same lines.

And McHenry did make the same exact allegation Palacio is making here.  That of course doesn’t make it true, maybe McHenry is where Palacio got it from.  McHenry did also name drop the men’s gymnastics team as well which would seem like an odd thing to do if he was just completely making it up.

of course i want the PED allegations to be true. i want PSUs dynasty to collapse in shame.

Nah dynasty’s always run their course naturally…there’s no reason to wish ill will on them. What Penn State has done (wrestling wise) has been phenomenal for the sport…I’ve said that numerous times. Their success is growth for the sport as a whole. Everything else you just hope for 1. Accountability for those who actually did wrong 2. People to stop making false accusations (if in fact they’re false) and 3. A deserving fan base to take over who shows some type of humility and genuine appreciation for the situation they’re in…

Is there something to this?

On another note isn't he currently not welcome at the NLWC? Only thing I heard was he cheered against Duke or something? Did that get flushed out at all?

The Haines thing has been rumored…I don’t think anyone can prove it.

He is no longer welcome at the NLWC. I wouldn’t think that’s going to change any time soon so…I consider it flushed out? Im not completely sure about the rooting against Duke accusation…although I believe he was sitting with another fan base and that’s how it looked. (like Rocco Welsh pre-PSU) What I DO know he did and a lot of people took exception to was posting his NCAA Champion predictions that had certain PSU wrestlers not winning. If I were a PSU fan of course I wouldn’t want to see that but as a grown up I get it…if he really didn’t think his guy could win and he wants to be like everyone else and put projections out there he should be able to do that.

Perhaps Karl could hire Paul and Kenny to revamp the PSU and NLWC NIL programs. Both have experience in the Big Ten, are each quite creative in their endeavors, and as a bonus Paul also spent time in Pennsylvania at Edinboro. With more opportunities and more money, Paul and Kenny can solve a lot more problems than they create.
