Each business and local govt is free to make their own decisions. Saying its the fault of " the democrats" is ignorant.

This another one of those things I don't understand what the big deal is that people will go so far as to say they hope it literally blows up...like seriously!?!  Who cares about a freaking ballroom?  Out of all the things going on in the country and world you all are worried about a ballroom?  In the grand scheme of things who is harmed by this??  And won't a new ballroom benefit all future presidents regardless of their political affiliation??  Or are future presidents going to be so petty and not use it because it was Trump's idea to build??  If so...yikes!!

Just two answer some of these questions:

Who cares about a freaking ballroom?  Out of all the things going on in the country and world you all are worried about a ballroom?   That is a very excellent point. And I think a main point of those arguing this ballroom is an extensive waste of time and dollars, when there are very much a lot more things our focus, dollars, and resources should be going to.

Who cares about a freaking ballroom?  In large part, the tax payers and those who represent them, who are footing $300 million dollars to a project that didn't so far as get a debate in Congress.  Adding in that the $300 million is only a portion of the project's currently projected bill, which we were told was only going to cost a total of $200 million with zero tax payer dollars.

And won't a new ballroom benefit all future presidents regardless of their political affiliation?  Not any more than what was already in place to hold all of the state dinners and other events that have been going on for decades.

But all that said, the whole "blow it up" thing is pretty silly.   But there are always going to be irrational people out there saying irrational things.   They come from all sides, we shouldn't just pick and choose which one's we are going to call out because of right vs left, we should call them out as they come, if we are going to call them out at all....

I get what you are saying...and people have every right, as they should, care about how their tax dollars are spent. I just personally think, regardless of my opinion on the cost to the tax payer as I've seen conflicting numbers, it's not "wasted money" because in the end you do in fact still have something useful.

My understanding is that the ballroom does not depend on taxpayer money.   What is going to go below it, is another matter.   But that was probably happening anyway.

Those security related features are very expensive. Let the pedo fund those himself.

You don’t want the president to be secure?

That’s what we were told, but that is not the reality, based on documents from both the government and the contractor. We were told 200 million, all private donors. The bill currently sits at 600 million, roughly 280 coming from private donors.

It certainly has not been shown it is needed, it has been said it is needed.  By the same person that said it costs 200 million to be paid for with no tax dollars.

Reminds me of a certain plane…

I can tell you it was the fault of the Ds here in WA.   For sure.   Governor held a 900+ day emergency order over covid.   People that did not get the jab got fired, even snow plow drivers that worked alone got fired.   Ferry boat captains and workers got fired.  Fire Chief got fired.   This was all D policy here.   And I would ask if saying it is the fault of "the demcrats" is ignorant, then which Rs in which states did the same thing.   Sure there were Rs that closed down the state but nothing like the Ds did.   Did they fire people for not getting the jab?   I haven't heard and would be interested to hear about it.   I know DeSantis closed down FL for a short while and then opened it up again after sanity prevailed.

It’s a fact. Blue state governors locked it down.
