University of Michigan

125 - Aslikyan/Botero

133 - Mendoza

141 - Wolbert

149 - Lemley

157 - Zapeda

165 - Catrabone

174 - Beau

184 - Brock

197 - Walters

HWT - Sahakian

Hoping all 10 qualify for nationals. My guess is 4-5 AA and 9 qualify for NCAAs. Team finishes around 4-7 place.

I can see Haakon pushing Zapeda for the 57 spot

Seidel is not expected to move up until Henson graduates is the last I’ve heard.
VT has a pretty entertaining lineup.
125 Vantresca
133 Seidel
141 Bo
149 Henson
157 Gaj
165 Nininger
174 Burton
184 Desiante or Bullock
197 Sasso
285 Mullen

Yea I looked at some of these weights and immediately thought it’s going to be a monster weight. 133 without Seidel (who I think goes 141?) is still one of the strongest weights. 149 is better than it was last year. 165 is full of monsters. I gotta be honest I’m ready for the season already!

With new rules, if Zapeda isn’t back to full health in the first part of the season or something, could be a great opportunity for Haakon to get his feet wet before Zapeda returns and they battle it out

Williams staying at Iowa.

If (and this is a major major if) they can stay healthy at 125 and get a healthy Crookham, they could have a better lineup than this past season.

They could just have a rotation for them either way and have a nice load management going into B1Gs and NCAAs for whoever takes over

Flying Cement is probably right, but just for fun and assuming nobody takes a grey shirt with new rules it could look more like this?

125: Max

133: DiAndrea or Casey

141: Taylor or Motyka (probably Mougalian)

149: Cross

157: Swisher

165: DeSena

174: Humphries, Seefeldt, or Bellis

184: Bellis, Stein, or Humphries

197: Betz or Pardo

285: Cosgrove, Pardo, or Delsanter

I think Dom is overlooked a bit…he 100% could be the starter. I’ve always thought Kilkeary had consistency issue. You can watch him go toe to toe with an AA guy then get blown out by a guy barely making the top 25 his next dual/tournament.

Mills can go 141 but he’s not beating Brown. Thats a good future problem to have with those three. I could see Davino kicking up in a year or two, just not this year.

Birden is a 174, I don’t see him dropping that low. If anyone I think Maddox Shaw or someone tries to challenge there.

Waters likely is right there with those two but I’m not sure how bad that injury is. I know he wouldn’t even use that arm. Haven’t heard anything about it since.

Talent is hard to identify, but I would assume Mills over Brown right now. Things change when guys enter a college room, and there might be a size difference, so hard to say.

Dom Munaretto is a career 125. 2x U17 world champ at the lower weights under 57kg. He lost a close one to Paul Kenny last year at U20s but surprisingly didn't go this year. Before the 5 for 5 rules, you'd assume he's a lock for a redshirt. The new rules make things interesting.

Do you know anything about whether Bouzakis will go 125 again?

Browns body is already built for 141…Mills is still a 133. I’m taking the 4x Ohio State Champ and Canadian World Team member on this one…

Bouzakis said in an interview recently that he’s not going 125 again, it almost killed him. He might consider it on a one day freestyle tournament but he’s not dropping again for folk.

Keith Gavin had a recent interview with Flo and it looks like Pitt's lineup for the upcoming year is:

125: Chappell (Marlow pushing)

133: Tallmadge

141: Priest

149: Harney or Miller

157: Bouzakis, Harney or Miller

165: Evans or Keslar (Says Evans got huge and is going up, maybe to 74)

174: Evans, Keslar or Marlow

184: Kranitz

197: Stout

285: Pitzer

Finn Solomon might also make himself a factor somewhere in there, I am yet to fully give up on him

Buckeyes updated their roster online through their official page (Maybe others have as well). Notable listings below:

Bouazakis - Listed as 125/133. I think this is a pretty good confirmation of what I’ve been hearing and how Brown has been consistently getting the best of him in practices at 141. Going to have to walk back his off season comments and load manage at 125 to make a final run…

Antonio Mills - Listed at 133/141. Writing was on the wall here…he had a very hard time last year with it and wrestled up the off season.

Stiles - Bumped up from 149 to 165. Cannon will stay 157.

Jaxson Smith - Listed 174. Expected.

Rogotzke - Only listed at 197. Expected that after he’s been noted walked around a very healthy 200+. Shumate is also only listed at 197 so no challenge expected for Fishback.

Rumored here and there. Although I've seen no sign from Mendez that he's coming back.

Negative, not on the official page. From what I’ve heard/seen from guys claiming to have sources near him he would definitely want to come back but his backup plan is focusing on an Olympic run.
