I know it has been posted and I was to lazy to look for them but with most of all the NIL moves over, maybe we have a better idea.

Anyone care to post their favorite teams lineup and how you see each finishing this season?

Ohio State Projected Lineup

125 - Vinny Kilkeary (Munaretto pushing hard)

133 - Ben Davino

141 - Karson Brown

149 - Kade Brown

157 - Ethan Stiles

165 - Brandon Cannon

174 - Jaxson Smith

184 - Dylan Fishback

197 - Ryder Rogotzke (Shumate pushing hard)

Heavy - Nick Feldman

Would love for Dom to come take 125 and I think it’s extremely possible but giving a slight edge to seniority and knowing how much Kilkeary has been working with Ben (even his warmup partner at RAF). I know Cannon wants 57 but I think he should bump with Stiles. Smith and Birden will be a lot closer than people think. And Shumate and Rogotzke is as much of a toss up as any but I give the size and unpredictability factor to Ryder.

Projected Team Finish 5-8

University of Michigan

125 - Aslikyan/Botero

133 - Mendoza

141 - Wolbert

149 - Lemley

157 - Zapeda

165 - Catrabone

174 - Beau

184 - Brock

197 - Walters

HWT - Sahakian

Hoping all 10 qualify for nationals. My guess is 4-5 AA and 9 qualify for NCAAs. Team finishes around 4-7 place.

Who do you have at AA? I see 3…maybe 4. Probably a 6-10 team finish.

I was essentially assuming 3 plus 1 and then leaving room for one surprise. My guess is possibly 1 in the first 4 weights, tho idts, then 3-4 in the next 4 weights, then likely neither of 197/HWT, tho Walters has had a good off season if I’m not mistaken. He was just so far away from serviceable last season and Sahakian is fresh yet. Honestly, 4-7, 6-10…not a massive difference in my eyes and all about where I was trying to place them. If they qualify 9-10 guys and some guys win a few matches and they AA 4 or more, they will probably land around that 5 area or so. I think a lot of their potential is also in stacked weight classes, so we will see. I’m excited either way

Seeding will have, and always does, a massive role in how everyone finishes out. I will say regardless though I think 1-4 in the team standings are pretty solidified. PSU, Ok State, VT and Nebraska will fill those spots in some order.

Projected Team Finish 5-8

It's always exciting wondering how good a freshman will be - Dom Munaretto, Karson Brown, Antonio Mills, Adam Waters.

Munaretto may be competitive at 125. Hard to say. Kilkeary seems like a R16 guy just looking at the amount of guys in the weight who are AA type guys. I am hoping Bouzakis is back at 125.

Can Antonio Mills go 141? Would he beat Karson Brown? Mills has Davino in his lane for 4 years. I can't place Davino's weight for LA2028 and if 141 is in the cards for him.

If Cannon doesn't go up, I can see it close between Birden and Stiles too at 165. It would be best for the team if Cannon and Stiles bumped

Adam Waters went 92kg at U20s. Why can't he be a 197? He might be right there with Shumate and Rogotzke. He got injured at U20s. Any idea how bad it is?

Yeah I see three with 65-84 AA, but maybe a guy like Wolbert comes out firing out the gate, but 41 is loaded

I think Dom is overlooked a bit…he 100% could be the starter. I’ve always thought Kilkeary had consistency issue. You can watch him go toe to toe with an AA guy then get blown out by a guy barely making the top 25 his next dual/tournament.

Mills can go 141 but he’s not beating Brown. Thats a good future problem to have with those three. I could see Davino kicking up in a year or two, just not this year.

Birden is a 174, I don’t see him dropping that low. If anyone I think Maddox Shaw or someone tries to challenge there.

Waters likely is right there with those two but I’m not sure how bad that injury is. I know he wouldn’t even use that arm. Haven’t heard anything about it since.

Yea I looked at some of these weights and immediately thought it’s going to be a monster weight. 133 without Seidel (who I think goes 141?) is still one of the strongest weights. 149 is better than it was last year. 165 is full of monsters. I gotta be honest I’m ready for the season already!

Agreed, I thought about it afterward and thought exactly what you said about 1-4, fairly solidified and even if 4/5 are not, it’s highly unlikely Michigan is going over the hump and supplanting a Nebraska or VT. I stand corrected on that, probably finishing in the back half of the top 10. And yes, seeding will matter, but that’s not really something I can project so it’s not something I tried to consider

Yeah that’s sort of where I landed. 3 that should be expected to podium, possibly getting 1 more out of the first half of the roster. Some of the guys filling into new roles or joining the program are in stacked weights, for sure. Mendoza, Wolbert, Lemley all seem like guys you might hope to see podium in a standard year with a middling competition in their weights, maybe a slight over projection for the freshman, but in their respective weights this coming season they will hope to remain competitive and win some matches at NCAAs. Seeding for guys like that could play a big role, as mentioned previously.

Can Lockett get his head in the game outside of the practice room? Swid and Facundo and Routledge are all right there hungry for the spot…

If he can then maybe he gets 2nd or 3rd ... if not maybe Swid wins it.

But also maybe a rs to get it together.

Seidel is going 141. He and Roble confirmed it.

I thought Jax might have gone up as well really leaving that 133 spot to Ben and Marcus but that’s not looking like it’s happening…you’d think with even just a little muscle put on he’d be bumping up with that lengthy frame.

Nebraska:
125: V Rob (top 5, champ potential)
133: VanDee (anywhere from R12-5th, he's always nails at the tourney)
141: Hockaday (??? Not enough data)
149: Echemendia (low AA finish is my guess)
157: Taylor (top 5, champ potential)
165: Araujo (anywhere from R12-low AA, truly one of the top riders in the NCAA)
174: Minto (top 5, champ potential)
184: Cochran (not really a lot of data for 184, hope he scores points)
197: McDanel (I'm guessing he finishes somewhere 5th-8th again)
HWT: Ziola (tough to predict a bulk job, but he split with Hopke and beat Coby Merrill last season so expectations are high)

Team: Anything less than top 3 is a disappointment this season.

Last I heard was Seidel 33, Bo 41 and Caleb 49.  Maybe Seidel's interview with Pyles???
