How could a US citizen be deported for being loyal to Iran or any country?

I’m not talking about loyalty to Iran as a country. I’m talking about the Islamic Republic; a regime that has been built on anti-American sentiment from day one. They openly celebrate when Americans get hurt or killed.

For context, take a look at this thread:

She is actually a US citizen. You might wonder why that matters. Well, look at this Instagram story she posted about two years ago.

jila.jpg.5f55019e76cfe0e44fb9b49eba35d62a.jpg

She shared a photo of the wildfires in LA and basically said these fires are karma for the "cruelty" of Americans. She’s clearly happy to see American people suffer.

This is from an official media outlet closely tied to the IRGC that republished her story:

https://www.tabnak.ir/fa/news/1283042/عکس-واکنش-ژیلا-صادقی-به-آتش‌سوزی-لس‌آنجلس

And yet, this person was granted US citizenship and will be heading back to the States soon. Ask yourself: would you really want someone that radical, someone who genuinely enjoys the idea of Americans suffering, living next door to you and your family?

You have described nothing illegal.  In the US she is free to say those things.  She is free to think those things.  Maybe in Iran citizenship could be stripped and someone deported over this but not here.

Then those laws need to change; the ones that allow your enemies to live right among you.

Are these not the kind of laws that allow the Islamic Republic to punish those that oppose their regime?  Pass such laws and one day someone you disagree with may end up power, decide you are the enemy, and use them against you.

No, that's not what free speech is about. Honestly, I really don't understand your system. You have placed heavy sanctions on ordinary Iranian people who harbor absolutely no hostility toward America. Some of these sanctions are still tied to the embassy hostage crisis from nearly 50 years ago; an event that happened before many of us were even born.

Yet, the children and families of those very hostage-takers are granted U.S. citizenship, and now you’re telling me they have every right to celebrate American tragedies because of "free speech"? Meanwhile, an ordinary citizen like me can't even open a basic international account like PayPal because of your sanctions. How does that make any sense? What kind of laws are these?

What do you think free speech is about?  Distasteful, critical, and controversial speech is subject to strict protection. This is the kind of speech most likely to be restricted by the government.

Opening a PayPal account isn’t free speech.  Iran is an OFAC sanctioned country.  You will not be able to open an account with an address in Iran.  If you are an ordinary citizen in the US opening an account should not be a problem

Taking pleasure in wildfires in which animals are burned alive and people may also be harmed, and saying that this is "karma" for the wrongdoings of the people in that area, is not criticism and it is not even a controversial opinion. It is an inhumane statement. And you will probably say now, "Saying inhumane things is protected speech in the United States."

Thank you for introducing me to American laws, but Eisa Hashemi, the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, who was involved in the U.S. embassy hostage crisis, became a U.S. citizen under those same laws. Then, a few years later, his citizenship was revoked by Marco Rubio under those exact same laws, and he was removed from the United States. So those laws did not come down from heaven.

In any case, we hope that those who chant "Death to America" in Iran, defend the regime’s crimes, the execution of protesters, and compulsory hijab laws, and then hypocritically move to the United States and post pictures of their a$$ on Instagram, will be deported back to Iran so they can experience your OFAC sanctions firsthand.

Exactly right that speech is protected.  If she had encouraged people to start the fires to administer karma or something like that she could be charged, but just commenting that way on a natural disaster is not illegal.

Hashemi was not a US citizen.  He was a permanent resident, green card holder.  Rubio revoked his green card. It would have been more challenging to deport him if he was a citizen.  If he was a US citizen by birthright then it’s not possible.  If he was a naturalized citizen it is theoretically possible if he had lied during the process and not too much time had passed.  Disloyalty might be enough there too because one part of the naturalization process is taking an oath of allegiance to the United States.

Hashemi may share some of mother’s ideas but he was not involved in the hostage crisis.  He had not even been born when that took place.

The fact that he was only a green card holder, not a citizen, changes the legal situation. But as an Iranian, what matters to me is that some people helped destroy Iran while chanting “Death to America,” and now they do not want their own children to live under the system they built. Instead, they send them to the very country they have spent years wishing to destroy.

You sanction millions of ordinary Iranians who have no hostility toward you, then simply say, "Those are OFAC sanctions," as if that settles the matter. But when it comes to your sworn enemies, you suddenly become their defenders: "He wasn’t involved in the hostage crisis.  He had not even been born when that took place." Why not apply the same logic to ordinary Iranians who suffer under these sanctions?

It seems your attitude is: the children of hostage-takers were smart enough to get to America, so now they deserve protection. But those who stayed in Iran are the ones who deserve sanctions and bombs.

With my previous account, I was making the same points when someone replied, "We prefer our enemies who chant Death to America over hypocritical arguments like yours." I simply responded, Fine, then: Death to America.

Belgium midfielder Nicolas Raskin said his team felt a "sense of injustice" over United States striker Folarin Balogun's one-match ban being suspended by Fifa shortly before their World Cup last-16 match.

"There was a sense of injustice within the squad, and we were determined to respond on the field."

Belgium captain Youri Tielemans insisted the affair had boosted his side.

"We told ourselves we had to respond on the pitch. That's what we did," he said.

Does anyone else find it audibly jarring when an American announcer Fox uses the plural verb tense in the horrible British fashion?

"France are wearing blue today."

At least a Brit announcer can blame emulating his king for his misuse.  The American announcer is just being a wanker.

Are France plural or is they singular?  😉

It’s so weird no one realizes that rooting for Spain in the final is so racist vs rooting for Argentina.   The wrong team won.

I rooted for Argentina and she thinks I'm a racist for doing so.   She thinks I'm racist if I rooted against Argentina.   So I'm racist no matter what.   That lady is crazier than most give her credit for.

She thinks you're racist if you notice she is black and treat her differently because of it.     She thinks you're racist if you notice she's black and don'treat her differently because of it.

She's a walking tautalogical argument for racism.

I dont blindly defend every liberal like wingers do for their own. So, I dont really care what she thinks as long as nobody is trying to force me to root for whoever I want.

I root for England, Germany and Sweden since my ancestors are from there. If that makes me racist, so be it. Dont care.
