Is Isaiah for sure good to make 125 all year? Luke is of course the standard but he is an immediate finals threat for me if he can make it, have to wonder if that played a roll in Knox leaving too. Meyer at 157 makes this team seriously good.

Given he will be down a weight, but he got teched  by Seidel and had losses to a few NQ last year. I don't see him getting through the grind of several returning AA to make the finals. I could see him sneaking onto the podium in a 7/8 but realistically I think he is an R16. He will no doubt be a good one after he gets a season under his belt.

Going to give my opinion on the Rutgers lineup. Let me know what you guys think.

125: Anthony Knox

133: Brett Ungar

141: Kelly Dunnigan/Tahir Parkins

149: Brandt Harer

157: Conner Harer

165: Andrew Barbosa

174: Ryan Ford

184: Shane Cartagena-Walsh

197: Remy Cotton

285: Daniel Herrera

Real solid dual lineup and the lineup is pretty young. Excited to see how Knox and Brandt look in their first collegiate seasons. Both had some great freestyle results so far this year. The team has underperformed in March the last couple of years so hopefully they can get a couple AA's. I think Knox should do it at 125 but we'll see if anyone else can step up.

The Citadel

125: Gylon Sims

133: Teegan Vasquez

141: Presley Johnson

149: Tommy Johnson

157: Hayden Watson

165: Jacob Silka

174: Braxton Russell

184: Brodie Porter

197: Gunnar DeGroat

HWT: Bryce Dadey

Lost quite a few starters for various reasons, but I still think we have a decent lineup after coming up with this mock roster. I wouldn't be surprised if the middleweights played musical chairs and Parker Kearns found his way into the lineup. Upper weights, particularly HWT, is my biggest question mark.

It will be super interesting for sure, I thought he looked incredible at the open and trials. I think it is worth noting all of his matches were done by January 9th last year. Thinking about guys like Gaj, Valencia etc if you concluded there season then and sent them to nationals they would not have been ready. I think these young guys get better month over month in these college rooms a lot of times. He also wrestled 30 matches in 2 months which even in high school would be a good chunk let alone against d1 guys so I wonder if he was a bit warn down. I am making a lot of excuses for him I know. To the Seidel thing I don't think anyone at 125 is remotely as good as Seidel besides Luke but Luke is not going to turn him.

If Nini could make his way down to 141 I think that would be huge for them, feel like that gives them a shot to qualify all 10 weights.

My take on the missiouri lineup that I think can push for a team trophy if all goes well.

125: Mauger (125 returns a lot of guys from the podium as well as adding in Cortez and Knox so Mauger is going to need to make some improvements to get there, but he seems to get a bit better year over year id put him 7-r16)
133: Gage Walker (in a nomral 133 gage walker would probably be a guy, with Larkin and Fugitt moving up and Drake and Byrd graduating the weight thins out a little bit even adding crookham back in. I think Walker is good enough to beat a Markel baker/ TK davis/ Jacob van dee/Gunner Andrick. Similar outcome to Mauger here albeit I am higher on Walker overall 7-r16)
141: I think the cut was definitely a thing for Zan last year, He took some uncharacteristic losses in a year I think we all expected him to really solidify himself after a great freshman campaign. Assuming he is feeling better at 141 I do not expect him to be particularly undersized. 141 is going to be pretty weak next year overall, you take out Mendez, Hardy and Vega and Ech seemingly moving up. I would not put beating the likes of Nogle, Bailey, Vombaur, Desmond, Cornella etc past fugitt. Raney/Bassett/Stanich are probably out of reach but I may be over evaluating Raney without seeing him compete with the big boys yet. 5-r12)
149: Mendoza (Kid is such a stud, Scrapped with Miller and after the first 3 minutes kind of held his own with Robideau. Had wins last year over Jamison and Catrabone, lost to williams in a one position match where he got crack down cradled and went toe to toe with Millard and Webster despite being much smaller. Lost to Ski in two close ones. I think an entire season knowing what his weight is now and getting accustomed to it + a year in a college room and Mendoza is going to be a son of a bitch at this weight. Despite having the last win over Vega at ironman in 2024 I do not know that I can see him beating him or Henson but I think third is a real outcome for him. 3-8)
157: Rath/Gleason: Gleason had the big win over Melvin at the open but followed that up going 1-2 at trials. Rath is a guy I was extremely bullish on coming out of high school but we have not seen him in a long time. If I were betting I would assume Rath gets the spot but I cannot predict any better than NQ for him at this given time.
165: Heiser/Bambinelli/Conway (If you are a Missouri fan, I think you have to hope Heiser can get down to 165. Without him I think any trophy aspirations are probably gone being they are already on the outside looking in more than likely. Heiser was awesome at both the open and trials at 79kg, and may have won the spot had he not gotten pinned up 12-4 against Jeter. Orginally registred for 74kg before switching last minute, it gives me hope he may be able to get to 165 but seems like it will be challenging to hold all season. Assuming Heiser at another thin weight 6-r16)
174: Steed is really good as we all know health is the only concern. I think winning this weight is within his range of outcomes, and assuming health the only guys I can see him losing to are Larkin if at 174, Minto, Psu guy, Ruiz. 1-5.
184: Sinclair (Not much needs to be said, Despite losing to Angelo twice Its hard for me to see that trend continuing especially with angelo missing time with injury and the margins already being so small. 1-3.)
197: Geog has always had a ton of ability when healthy. I do not think this weight is weak but it lacks a lot of separation outside of Barr. A new training environment and going with Sinclair I think could be a benefit to geog but 197 may be getting Barr back and only loses Elam for the most part. Endene is also back in the mix more than likely so its hard to move Geog much higher than last year. 7-r12)
285: Stoner is a mountain of a man but while this weight does not have a clear favorite in my eyes it has a plethora of dudes. In Descending order Dreshaun, Merill, Keuter, Feldman, Ziola, Mirasola, Amos, Carroll, Voelker, Mullin, Hopke. I think NQ is probably the best outcome for Stoner in this field.

Really well said.

Gage Walker is like the 70 overall in Madden. Idk if he’s a AA ina  normal year, maybe R12-R16 guy

Mendoza is such a stud, watched him win four IL titles and he had a great year last year. Top 3-5 guy for sure

Super excited to see Rath after a long time.

Heiser really impressed me this summer, looked like a completely different guy.  I think he makes the U20 team if he didn’t get pinned. If he can make 65, definitely a guy to watch out for.

Bambinelli is super funky

Nini doesn’t have a tik tok, he doesn’t deserve the spot

Would not surprise me if Ayala or Rin are the starter at 125.

Smith is talented but is 1-2 lb under 125 with no cut.

Grice would be a solid R16/R12 guy but Pearson may surprise many this season.

Re "Super excited to see Rath after a long time.".  Me too!  But do we know if he's going to wrestle this year?

I don’t see either beating out Smith. He really turned it on the second half of the year

Agreed - some decent wins toward the end .... Rin has yet to win a college match.

174: Chris Crawford #27 at 165/ Orland Cruz/#100

Crook not making 141 after qualifying 3 times?

Yep, Isaiah is for sure going 125.  Was great to see him down at 57kg already for U20s

The loss of Meyer is huge!

You take any of the 125 pounders and have them in the.bottom position vs Seidel, they too will get smashed.  I think his SV loss to Davino was much more telling.  He also had wins over 133 lb Rd of 12 Max Leete and 133 lb rd of 12 Markel Baker.  His other losses outside of Davino and Seidel were to Walker 2-1 TB , Spidle 7-4, abd Gage Whisenhunt 10-9 (total screw joh by official, watch match).

I believe he can handle any grind after going 31-5 last year at 133 lbs the entire year (while his walk around weight was less then that).  Kid was a u20 World Silver medalist in Greco two years ago and back on U20 team this year for FS.  I could see him making top 4.

Watch his match vs Davino, it was fire Best 4-1 SV match you will see. No stall calls on either guy and they only went out of bounds twice. Constant attacks. Cortez got in on Davino 2-3x and looked like he had him but Davino was a wizard defensively.
