As Ohio state has shown, the beginning of the season and arguably most of the season has no guarantee of success in march. Lets compare the national duals results to the final NCAA tournament results: Ohio State: 1st at National Duals, completely underperforming with 5th at NCAAs Iowa: 2nd at National Duals, with a shaky middle season breaking several dual streaks with a 4th at NCAAs Oklahoma State: extremely close Semis loss to Iowa with a finish at 3rd at National Duals, 2nd at NCAAs by a wide margin Nebraska: 4th at National Duals almost getting blown out by Ohio state and completely underperforming still placing above Ohio state at NCAAs with a 3rd place finish. Minnesota, 5th at National Duals, 9th at NCAAs Virginia Tech: 6th at National Duals, 11th at NCAAs Illinois: 7th at National Duals, 15th at NCAAs and finally Missouri: 8th at National Duals 14th at NCAAs The complete dominance of Jax Forrest, rise of Seidel and vega and downfall of Lockett and Bouzakis among other wrestlers further reinforce my point. The beginning of the season means nothing. It sounds more like you just want PSU to be there in the hopes of an early season upset. It's fine if you want them to lose, but just say that instead of using early season competition as an excuse.
