    I never said it would effect his performance now, just the longevity of his career. So this does not disprove the point I am making. The body can only take so much wear and tear. I also hope he gets gold tomorrow, I am a big fan.

    Many big names have had their careers derailed by injuries, and I would bet that a lot of them are from overall mileage. Yianni is a good recent example. Snyder has had one of the longest careers in the countries history and he has wrestled 88 matches in the past 5 years. That is less than Bassett has wrestled in the past year. There's a reason he has had a long career.

    I'm not aware of any How many matches were competitive in that time period? Depends how you define competitive, but significantly more than 10 in my eyes. And non-competitive matches still add mileage, although not as much. Practice is definitely different now, people are not practicing nearly as rigorously as they were before. But even so, when you're competing this much you're definitely practicing more than the next guy, so that adds to the argument.

    In the past year he wrestled a full high school schedule, 3 world championships, and will go straight into a D1 NCAA season. This is a recipe for disaster in my opinion. He needs to wrestle less frequently or he is going to peak around 23 years old and have a ton of nagging injuries. Just my two cents, from someone who is a big fan.

    Wrestlers constantly put themselves in the rubber knee position and then get a potentially dangerous call. This should be a penalty point in my opinion. First of all, the position is dangerous and I’m sure many knee injuries have happened there. But many times wrestlers do this to prevent the takedown and get the PD call. Ban the position and penalize the defensive wrestler for using it as a stall tactic. Agree?

    2 of the 10 final matches had zero offensive points and were decided by the refs. That is terrible.

    The finals were not great, and they never are. It’s always by far the worst round of the tournament.

    Michigan looked good this year, I was impressed. I feel like they have been too reliant on transfers. Would like to see them get some big names recruits and develop them to studs.

    He's showing everyone up, just like Bo Nickal did when he would try to help his opponents up after he beat them. I don't like that it at all, leave the guy alone. He crushed his dream.

    I believe that part of the reason Bassett decommitted from Iowa was because Brands wouldn't fly them out to train in Iowa for the freestyle season, which seemed to be some type of possible violation, while Oklahoma State was doing that for Jax.

    Looking at the final numbers, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Vtech had a bad tourney with a #2 and #4 seed not placing, but Stanford made up for it with an amazing tournament.

    Off topic but I am bummed Bassett and Miller will be in the ACC. The ACC did not have a great showing at nationals
