FWIW, there was a point where Mesenbrink was riding Caliendo (this was after Caliendo went for the choke headlock and Mesenbrink took him down again) and I was wondering if Mesenbrink was talking shit in Caliendo's ear (it kind of looked like it, and Askren would do this when guys wouldn't open up and has he has shared that Mitchell likes to talk mid-wrestling).

It would be a better story if he were quoting St. Francis of Assisi.

He's showing everyone up, just like Bo Nickal did when he would try to help his opponents up after he beat them. I don't like that it at all, leave the guy alone. He crushed his dream.

Thinking the same thing he was probably quoting Churchill about choking

Mitchell was one of my favorite wrestlers his freshmen year. He's an unbelievable wrestler, but he does himself a disservice in likeability every time he opens his mouth. I've been curious what Ben would say if he were to be candid about how Mitchell acts at times, both on and off the mat.

The podium handshake is whatever, but it comes off as condescending like he's thanking the field for coming to let him beat them up. It's just not necessary. I'd be annoyed if the winner of my weight did it too.

I'm sure this will get blanketed as PSU hate, but it's just Mitchell being Mitchell. Fake humility is annoying.

Some of you guys are really ridiculous. He can't win the Hodge if he doesn't pin or tech fall every opponent according to you but somehow he's supposed to be nice and not condescending by hanging up points on guys or trying to embarrass them?  Explain to me what that looks like?

Because Jax is a freshman and he's making his opponents look bad it's ok because its "exciting" when he does it but not when MM does it.  I want to hear and see all the Jax fatigue when he's still doing that as a junior.

MM is one of those guys when he's on top just wants to be chummy with everyone, happy go lucky, etc. which is lame as hell when the other guys are not the ones on top of the podium.

Yep, this right here.

MM just expects everyone to be in the same mood has him (guess what, only one person reaches the top of the podium so maybe just have some gratitude, enjoy the moment, and keep your hands to yourself).

I shouldn’t wade in here but against my better judgement…

Not a good look for Caliendo - the attempted choke holds during the match followed by the podium hand shake snub. I’ll wait for all the posters who piled on Davis to come and pile on Caliendo for the next 2 months. I’ll be holding my breath…

Mickey still holding a grudge that he he didn’t get a featured spot on Mitchel’s upcoming album.  It’s setting to feel like they are starting up East-Cornfield vs West-Cornfield beef.

Meh, it’s 10 minutes after his dreams got crushed. He is under no obligation to play Mitchell’s game. Even if Mitchell’s intentions were pure, which I have no clue if they were, some people just need some time and space.

I could be wrong, but IIRC Askren did make a comment that the way Mesenbrink wrestled Burroughs was stupid or something to that effect

He has definitely on multiple occasions talked about how much MM will piss him off when he wrestles with him because he does the same stuff. He has definitely acknowledged that Mesenbrink can wrestle like a little prick without having to outright say it like that.

MC was in a no win situation. If he shakes he might feel like a punk. If he doesn't he's a jerk.

Re punk: I could see the handshake as s gesture of respect if the match were close; but, he just got teched. I assume he would want to be anywhere else except standing next to the guy.

9x and talked shit every time... during the match

Didn't he talk shit after the match to a guy that was almost backboarded?
