... well sure  🤔  ... but back to topic ... two months ago AJ was expensive and now he is cheap, on sale, maybe free.  I'm sure JC appreciates cheap.

No such thing after 5for5.

It sounds like the current athletes will have the choice between the old and new rules but have to declare it this summer. I could be wrong, but I’d assume that means med and Olympic redshirts would be available to those who choose the old rules (wrestlers who have already taken a redshirt). That said, I forgot Duke never took a RS, so he’d take the new rules (and no Olympic RS in 27-28).

That's how I understand it as well. And admittingly, that thought never crossed my mind when I posted...🪑

While this is true, it also isn't - right?

I believe anyone who has wrestled under theb'old' rules has the option of the old or new rules.  So for anybody that was true frosh last season it's basically a wash.  If they redshirtted, they lost a season.

Folks like Focus, Swiderski, Echemendia, etc?  They are under the old ruleset still.

For the purpose of Penn State, Kasak falls under this (old rules), as does Sealy.  Blaze, Desmond, Duke, Cunningham, and Henkle basically do not.

I suppose, unless something changes, any of those guys could take a medical (or two) down the line and still go under the old rules.

James absolutely is only eligible for the 5 for 5.

The post wasn't actually for him, but for others reading the thread.  I know he knows.

With Connor Mirasola going 125kg at U23s, does that mean they're both trying to go HWT next season? Cole hasn't register for U23s.

You don't really want to have two twin brothers trying to beat each other for the same spot on the team. Not ideal for brothers or parents. I can think of a way this could have been avoided. Maybe going to a program you fit into. It looked like they fit when they committed. Barr wasn't supposed to be a 197. But maybe they should have adjusted and left the team.

Cain could definitely slay Abel, as one solution put forth by a text circulating out there somewhere, can’t remember the title atm tho.

Could it be that one intends to go U20 and the other U23?

5 for 5 passes. Be hard for Duke, Blaze and James to sit, knowing they lose a year...

ORS wont matter for 27-28 season anyways. The trials will be December 2027 so the workflow is pretty straightforward.

Every wrestler qualified for the trials will most likely sit out first semester to focus on free. Then:

A) You make the team, focus on olympic training second semester

B) You don't make the team, go back to folk spring semester

i am an idiot on the internet
