I just don’t see it as blatant in the education system as we get sold on. There are definitely bad actors in schools and in some policy makers, but overall I just don’t see it that heavy. I deal with a lot of schools in both my ‘regular’ job and in my wrestling ventures. And I feel like we get fed about the bad actors so densely and so loudly, that what we hear in certain media and certain govt entities does not reflect the reality. In my experiences, I just don’t see anywhere near the level of what we’re fed. What I see a lot more of is entitlement from parents. “My kid shouldn’t have to do this or that if it makes them uncomfortable.” What I see more in schools and policy, more so than higher levels pushing an agenda, is not having the balls to stand up to parents and saying…we’re the professionals, this is how it’s done, if you don’t like it you have other options. I say all of that with the understanding that my experiences are not everyone’s experiences.

Wokeness started with the creation of the dept of education in 1979 and has been the norm since Obama. All you can do is slow it down as it’s going to happen whether you like it or not. As I’ve said on here before if Dems would learn what “happening “organically” means instead of shoving it down peoples throats they’d have far more success. Also, Globalism (NWO) coming whether we want it to or not. Even the Nationalist Trump knows it which is why he’s trying to position the US as best he can for the future when it does. That being said you can’t stop it, just impact it/direct it as best you can while you can.

I have to agree with your synopsis that the future is bright, but we do seem to be rebuilding a bit in several weights. We were spoiled a bit with 4 of the top six USA wrestlers of all time competing at the same time. Snyder still going strong and Dake will adjust to 86… not sure if Burroughs is done or not yet? Honestly I think there’s a better chance we see JB or Nolf at 79 than Dake or Chance. No way Dake concedes to Valencia IMO. Chance probably could go to 79 but he spent a lot of time bulking up to 86, so I doubt he wants to go backwards on that. We always seem to have a first year team member burst onto the scene with a medal, so I think we do get at least one or two from the weights you listed. Mesenbrink took it to Carr who just beat Takatani, so he should medal. Hendrickson is certainly capable too. If we add in Brooks and Burroughs/Nolf that’s a pretty darn good team.

The most elite athletes in America are all heavyweights. LeBron James (250 lbs), Aaron Donald (280 lbs), Aaron Judge (282 lbs), Gable Steveson (270 lbs). Only wrestling makes special rules to allow smaller, less athletic guys to have a chance to compete.* *yes, I'm trolling

Grey is a much better coach. He has been in that roll since his injury redshirt season, he’s going to be there until he retires. With his background he basically has bergen catholic and delbarton on lockdown, you can pull down 4 AA’s all day long just recruiting those two rooms. Now BC just needs to get dave bell back in there somehow.

There is no weight class that has yielded more US olympic and international success than heavyweight. Not overrated. Bruce Baumgartner Steven Neal Kerry Mccoy Rulon Gartner Tervel Dlagnev Nick Gwiazdowski Kyle Snyder Gable Steveson Also, thin (lol)? Is there a spate of teams failing to recruit heavyweights? I think this does the big guys some disservice. The physics are very different at that weight, but that doesn’t make them less sophisticated wrestlers. Heavyweight has been home to the best technical rivalries internationally for the better part of the past decade (akgul, petriashvili, steveson, and whatever that iranian dude’s name was).

There is a level of excellence beyond which you basically have to be what most people see as a sociopath in order to achieve your goals. Kolat has this, Slay has this (personal experience), Dake definitely has this to be as successful as he was coming out of Cornell, he did EVERYTHING himself, he’s a lone mountain man as arguably any of the very top tier coming out of the US have ever been. His cornell teams were pretty good, but not on his level. He had to go to some deep places on his own, didn’t really have a team, and those experiences are so crucial for making really great coaches. If he was a coach he’d basically be Pai Mei from kill bill.

truth He also has stated multiple times, he is family oriented and the college coaching demands do not match his preferred lifestyle. I think the same could have been said to an extent about DT, so if the check is big enough, his lifestyle preferences might adjust.
