Should federal workers be fired for criticizing charlie kirk?
Bigbrog replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
I didn't ask if people should be fired for CRITICIZING Charlie, but rather should they be fired for CELEBRATING and/or saying he DESERVED to die?? -
I believe that's the voice of Jordan Burroughs on the UWW/Rudis promo playing in the arena. Nice!
-
I don’t get it either. He’s a warrior and seems like a super nice dude in interviews. Ever since I saw him wrestle for the first time I’ve been a fan of his, even though I’m not an Iowa fan and he whooped our guy. I think there’s been some really unreasonable expectations heaped on him and it’s just snowballed - win every match ever and then take over Iowa wrestling as coach. Come on yall its crazy talk.

Most companies can fire you for no reason at all, let alone behaviors that reflect poorly on their decision to employ you. -

You seem to change the question from celebrating his death to criticizing quite a bit. Me thinks that’s on purpose. -

Give us an example or we will just presume it's another lie. -
You also have to remember that amateur athletics in general have made a tremendous shift in the USA. Without Foxcatcher and Dupont it is hard to say how long any of those guys remain active in wrestling. It is an interesting question about what you think might happen.

Why We Suck at Debate (And How to Do It Better)
ThreePointTakedown replied to jross's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
1, Conservatives turn to the middle not extremes. Conservatives back behavior that has been corroborated as successful, and beneficial to the majority. Hard disagree there. Please offer a few examples so we have an idea of what it is you are talking about? 2, Not everyone is correct 100% I'll take some mistakes as long as it just debate. If you are mostly correct, is the barometer, in live conversation without notations In live conversation, sure. With friends or acquaintances, I guess. If you don't have notes or enough information to cogently discuss a topic both for and against, you shouldn't pretend that you can. That is the definition of Dunning Kruger. Its doesn't or shouldn't diminish your sense of self worth that you can't honestly and accurately discuss a topic of relative importance. Understand and admit to yourself what you don't know and make a conscience decision to get better or learn more. But if you're on a web thread the whole 'no notes' thing is ponderous. We have ALL THE NOTES OF EVERYTHING EVER. Just figure out the best source, which the right tends to either not do, do badly, or pretend a source is reputable when its not. Hardly any policy or position the right holds is bore out by facts. Prove me wrong? 3. context is always important and to suggest it is a guilt process or deflecting is ridiculous. Examine what is said and meant not partial words picked out of an argument. Never said it wasn't important. What I said was that even after context is fully established and accepted and cannot be further dissected, the claim of 'its out of context' is a 'pull in case fire' card that many pundits on the right call on when they are trapped. Knowing full well that yelling at the top of their lungs is distraction enough to get the spot light off of them and not have to admit defeat or that their point has been thoroughly debunked. 4. I think a mostly conservative approach to goernment has been directing success for thousands of years. I don't disagree with you although I would push back on your use of the word 'success'. That we haven't destroyed ourselves yet is not a great metric for 'success' in my opinion. The pattern of oligarchs gain and wield soft power and begin to steer the ship of government towards what best suites them and their needs, goes back thousands of years, yes. Eventually their arrogance/hubris gets the best of them and they are overthrown, invaded, or beheaded. Rinse repeat. If you're happy with that pattern, bully for you. I'm not to jazzed about the idea, myself. Tell me if you see any similarities in the scenario I put forth above and our current situation? I'll give you a hint, if you say 'no' you're just not trying that hard. -
It's unfortunate, because were Little Yaz to win it all, this would have been the year to do it. His side of the bracket was absolutely set up for him to succeed. I wish we'd have had the opportunity to see him test his metal at 74 KG. He wouldn't have won, no, but maybe we see some sort of excitement in him that we don't get out of Emami (even if Emami is quite consistent).
-
Absolutely not, but employers in the pvt sector should have that right and also public sector if their work rules explicitly allow it. Firing somebody for simply criticizing Charlie Kirk? VERY dangerous slope you're on there because it's gonna end up going both ways, eventually. Be careful what you wish for. THis is very different from celebrating his death, so I think you're really trying to change the subject here because you don't want to deal with the issue.

Eh. I'm not sure about that. Ed Banach (3x NCAA Champ, 4x NCAA Finalist, Olympic GOLD medalist), Tom Brands (3x NCAA Champ, 4x NCAA AA, Olympic Gold and World Gold), and Barry Davis (3x NCAA Champ, 4x NCAA AA, Olympic Silver and 2x World Silver) would all like a word.

Welker back in too as the kyrgyzstani won her semi final

Body cams on police are a good thing, provided they cannot be selectively turned off. An overall surveillance state is not a good thing.

For sure!

I agree, if the body holds out I would expect LA28 to be the last we see of her competing but even then - I just want to fully appreciate any time she makes the walk and toes the proverbial line

Kilty pulled back in as the Russian made finals
-
Prove it...ie., BLM is for body cams and how body cams are misused
-
I think she might make a final run towards LA 2028 even though that's far away and that would be great because after her, there is really nobody else at 57kg for the US that could be this consistent and reach the medal rounds. I always wonder how Team Japan feels about Susaki being good friends with Helen. Especially since Susaki flew out to NY to train with Helen a few months ago and Helen beat Tokuhara in this tournament. Not that Tokuhara was going to place anyways...she's usually 3rd/4th string at 59kg for Japan. It certainly helped that Sakurai isn't Japan's rep this year at 57kg.

And this why you don't know it's a lie. You just throw the lie out there everyother time but you don't know. -
Should federal workers be fired for criticizing charlie kirk?
Bigbrog replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
So do you think people should lose their job for celebrating or saying someone deserved to die?? -
Did Nokhodi underperform? If i recall correctly the Greek athlete that beat him also beat the American competitor in the final comprehensively. I’d say Nokhodi lost to a better wrestler who looked like an absolute monster and who deserves to be the champ.

But what did those fired actually say or do?
