  1. Past hour
  2. The win you mentioned was a one TD win. Zepeda/Noah have been pretty equal their past two matches. I think Bassett has passed Zepeda a bit, but just my opinion based on the matches I've seen. We can agree to disagree
  3. If Wild Turkey is involved VT is the clubhouse leader
  4. Miller went from a Top 9 to eliminating five of them and adding two more to make a Top 6. So it should have really been a Top 11.
  5. I thought Melvin put NC State as one of his schools initially a few months ago. Oh, what could have been
  6. The poorly worded tweet from @Caveira seems to want people to think he was shot. Do gangbanging murderers hang around marinas in Chicago?
  7. So if Chicago doesn't want the help, why should U.S. taxpayers pay to send federal troops there? My thought is that keeping them home is a win-win situation. Chicago gets their way and the taxpayers save some money.
  8. Well it didn't say he was shot correct. There are other means of homicide no?
  9. When Trump is wrong I for one am going to say so and he is wrong here. Pritzker does not need help "preventing" crime because he is not trying and has no interest in "preventing" crime.
  10. 8 hats? In this economy??
  11. 57kg: Spencer is pretty clearly the best guy at the weight. 6 weeks ago I thought his toughest match would likely be RBY in the semis with Musa Mekhtikhanov, and Chonsong Han also being tough outs. RBY strikes me as the toughest stylistic matchup with his ability to create from space and his speed, they did hit at a ranking series and Spencer got up earlier and RBY socred late however those scores seemed more of a result of Spencer completely shutting it down. I really like RBY's trajectory but I do not see him beating Spencer. Musa Mekhtikhanov is very skilled but he does not have anything specific that makes me feel as though he can score enough or do enough to beat spencer and lastly Chongsong han who we have 4 matches to look at at the Asian championships but in those matches he looked very dynamic. He presents a similar style to Zhou that has historically given Spencer issues and he will come in unseeded. North Korea only sends guys they have supreme confidence in so in my mind Han has to be a threat to medal. Now I mentioned 2 months ago because Arsen Harutyunyan was previously expected to go 61kg, which is where he generally wrestles during none Olympic years but he has decided to make the cut to 57kg. Harutyunan is very very talented he is a 3x senior world bronze and 2x u23 world champ as well as winning senior euros last year and teching RBY. To me however he has always looked his best at 61kg. He will give Spencer all he can handle for the first 3 minutes, but if the match is close going into the second I expect the wheels to really fall off, he does not have particularly great cardio at 61kg and it seems to get significantly worse after the cut to 57kg. Predictions: (not accounting for full brackets) Gold: Spencer Silver: Harutyunan Bronze: RBY Bronze: Han 61kg: This weight is super deep, however it really lacks that final boss type guy at the top. Some people may look at Uguev as that guy but he has yet to win a medal at 61kg pacing 5th twice. Uguev and Suda are the two biggest on paper favorites going into this followed by a huge tier of guys who if they were to upset either would not be shocking Abakarov, Tairybek Uulu, Yessengeldi, Jax, Ahmad Javan, Udit. Now in my opinion I think Jax is going to win this weight, However I think his draw will be important. Uguev I believe is a great matchup for Jax. I do not think Uguevs high c is super effective against Jax he seems to almost always score off of guys own high c's and his head hands has improved immesely so if Uguev gets to it, it will likely because Jax was ready for it. The guys that worry me the most for Jax are Abakarov, Suda and Uulu. Abakarov has a great ability to counter score coupled with great strength and explosivity which are all qualities I think you need to beat Jax. Uulu shares these traits, and Suda seems like a mini Ono with less power but more length. Now I think Jax can beat all of these guys but in a bracket setting where he could potentially wrestle all 3 I think thats where things get very difficult. I am going to predict he either does not hit all 3 or beats them all probably because I'm biased and he's my favorite guy to watch but I truly believe he can get it done. Predictions: Gold: Jax silver: Suda bronze: Uguev bronze: Uulu 65kg: I have been pretty pessimistic about Real's chances at this weight. I think for his first full year training free he has been incredible, but I worry about him being able to get to his positions against some of these guys, and I still worry about the second period for him. Amouzad and Kiyooka are the returning Olympic finalists and have both looked the part this year not taking any losses. They are far and away the favorites to hit again in the finals. The next tier of guys are Sebasitan Rivera, Sujeet, Ibragimov, Tevanyan. I think Real can beat most of those guys, but with how the seed are he is going to have to more than likely wrestle one of Amouzad or Kiyooka first and then get drawn back in where he would more than likely need to beat at least two of these guys which I just do not see at this moment. If I were to pick 2 guys to unseat Kiyooka or Amouzad It would be Seabass or Sujeet. Seabass was very close to knocking off Kiyooka last year and I think has the arsenal and style to also potentially give Amouzad fits. Sujeet is very young but has most Indians do has a crazy motor and good offense if he can keep it close with Amouzad late I think he could take him out, I do not think he can beat Kiyooka. Sujeet could hit Amouzad in the quarters and Seabass could hit Kiyooka in the semis. Predictions: Gold: Kiyooka Silver: Amouzad Bronze: Seabass Bronze: Sujeet 70kg: This weight is very deep. Similarly to 65kg there are a ton of guys that can medal here and there are one or two top guys but they do seem beatable although Kaipanov could change the view of that very easily here. Kaipanov and Amir Yazdani are the two gold favorites to me followed by a huge tier 2 of Kazyrk (russian nats champ), Akmataliev, Rassadin, Aoyagi, Adreasyan, Dudaev, Gomez, Heybatov, Kemertelidze, Ochir, Duke. Needless to say PJ is going to have to battle out there. I think you can condense this list based off of the past years results though, Ochir has not looked great and neither has Dudaev. Adreasyan is very strong and does not break position but PJ will be in a match with him and if he can get a lead I feel confident he could hold on. Rassadin,Aoyagi,Akmataliev,Gomez are the ones I worry about for PJ. All of them are dynamic and will probably be able to hold up in the hand fight with him. Overall I think we are a year or two away from PJ medaling but this will be invaluable experience for him. Predictions: Gold: Kaipanov silver: Akmataliev Bronze: Aoyagi Bronze: Gomez 74kg: God this weight is awesome. Your gold favorites are Valiev, and Sidakov but to me this weight has 5 potential champs and 2 sleepers. Those 5 are Valiev,Sidakov,Carr,Salkazonov,Takahashi. The sleepers are Emami and Khaniev. Khaniev may be a bit off of peoples radar but he was the 70kg u23 champ last year and is super slick and creative. He struggled with Takahashis athleticism in the ranking series final and I think he would also struggle with Carr but I could see him potentially knocking off one of the other guys. Sidakov lost to Valiev at Euros in a crazy final sequence and then was thought to be out for the year but he was able to recover much quicker than expected. In his wrestle off I thought he looked good but certainly beatable. Valiev of course infamously lost after the match on a fleeing the hold call at the olympics which I have never seen before to the eventual champ Zhamolov. He has not lost since. So to me Valiev is probably a slight on paper favorite. That said the Japanese Burroughs amazes me every time he wrestles and David carr made him go life and death. If you wrestle this weight 10 times you probably either get Sidakov winning it 10 times or four different champs, and that is why I am so excited for it. Predictions: Gold: Takahashi Silver: Valiev Bronze: Sidakov Bronze: Carr 79kg: This weight is far more wide open than I originally thought. When levi lost to Kougi I was not very optimistic that he would medal but once I looked deeper into the entries I realized Kougi may just be one of the top 4 guys at the weight and I think that is a result Levi could potentially reverse. This weight has two very good guys at the top with Usmanov and Nohkodi and Usmanov is an absolute monster at 79kg historically but he looked pretty human at Euros. Nohkodi of course beat JB last year and is great as well but he missed nearly the entire year recovering from and Injury so I think it is possible that he is not quite at his best. After those two guys the medal contenders to me are Evloev, Kougi, Gamkrelidze, Levi, Mykhailov. To me these are all winnable matches for Levi. Evloev is super tricky, he is incredible in a crackdown and floats his hips super well but he has taken some bad losses and that is certainly a match levi can win, and Mykhailov lost to Ruiz a month ago so thats another guy I feel good about Levi going up against. Gamkrelidze is never a guy that impresses me a ton and perhaps I am underrating him but thats another match I feel ok about for Levi and we have seen the Kougi matchup and that seems winnable. Predictions: Gold: Nohkodi Silver: Usmanov Bronze: Levi Bronze: Gamkrelidze 86kg: This weight from a pure highlight reel standpoint is going to be asburd. Seems as though Ramazanov is out which is definitely a big deal although he would not have been my pick to win. Excluding Ramazonov my favorites for gold are Ghasempour, Kadiev, Zahid, Kadi. Throwing Kadi in may be a stretch but I would have included Ramazonov and Kadi had him dead in the water until his lungs stopped working so I am going to throw him in. The 4 guys I mentioned all have very contrasting styles. Ghas is a brick shit house thats going to push and pull and look for his high C. Kadiev has his own offense but really thrives when you are in on his legs and if you do not finish quickly he is probably going to score on you, he has an insane feel and crazy hips/rubber knee stuff. Zahid is going to use your pressure against you and can also blow through you from space, and Kadi is as explosive as they come, well at least for 4 minutes. Other medal contenders are Kentchadze (world gold at 79 last year), Dhizoev, Dauletbekov. (I do not think Ghas is going to be able to make the weight effectively that is factored into my predictions) Predictions: Gold: Zahid Silver: Kadiev Bronze: Ghas Bronze: Kadi 92kg: I could be foolish but to me this weight is a 2 horse race I think its Trent and Firouzpour. Of course 4 guys medal so the guys that could sneak in for Bronze to me would be Nurmagomedov,Kurugliev,Punia,Akturk. I really want to pick Trent the dude works so damn hard but I think that Firouzpour may be the most underrated guy in the world right now. Predictions: Gold: Firouzpour Silver: Trent Bronze: Kurugliev Bronze: Nurmagomedov 97kg: The battle we've wanted since 2023 Taz vs Sadulaev. As someone who once rooted for Sadulaevs downfall I am now really hoping he can get it done, it would be a great story. I will say I think Azarpira could have his say on if this matchup actually happens, but it is definitely and outside shot. Rounding out the medal threats are Snyder, Yoshida, and Magomedov. I view this weight as the big guys tier 1, Azarpira tier 2 and then Yoshida and Snyder tier 3. Predictions: Gold: Sadulaev Silver: Taz Bronze: Azarpira Bronze: Snyder 125kg: A lot of people seem to be writing Wyatt into the finals, I am definitely not that confident but I do think there is a world that his style gives Zare fits. If Wyatt makes the finals I think it could be a 50/50 matchup but I think navigating the bracket will be difficult for him. Zare is obviously the guy to beat. Then you have Wyatt, Munkthur, Meshvilidishvili, Sharipov. I like Wyatt to beat all of those guys, but they are all good enough that if he takes a risk and it results in a chain of points they could shut it down and it will be difficult for him. Munkthur is the biggest worry for me. Munkthur and mesh are same side so assuming Wyatt is on that side (lets hope) one of the two will not win bronze. Predictions: Gold: Zare Silver: Wyatt Bronze: Meshvilidishvili Bronze: Sharipov

  12. The 14 year old, unfortunately, it’s very possible he was. No indication the 63 year old was even shot or who killed him, he drowned. https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/captain-bill-chicago-lake-michigan-drowning
  13. True, this happened. Zepeda also beat Nininger, and since you mention Bassett, 2 of Zepeda's 3 matches with Bassett were competitive (pinned Bassett and lost in a very entertaining overtime match). One loss to Nininger on the backside of a bracket with nothing at stake does little to disparage my original statement. Only my opinion!
  14. But what happens if the points are tied at the end of the regulation season? Is there.... Criteria?

  16. UWW ranking points are a little weird. To break down the above so they're understandable, it's based on the tournament (A,B,C level...A being highest) and # of competitors in those tournaments. Both received 26,000 points from Olympic bronze plus 3,000 bonus points for the 57kg bracket having 13-16 competitors in an "A" event (Olympics). Aman placed 3rd in Ranking series Mongolian Open "C" event, which gave him 5,200 points. Because there were only 10 competitors, he doesn't get bonus points. Here's the crazy part...Aman didn't wrestle in Senior Asian Championships, whereas Gulomjon did, and he placed 8th without winning a match! By fortuitous draw, he skipped qualification round and was drawn into Quarters where he lost to Kalzhan of Kazakhstan who was then beaten in the next round and Gulomjon was eliminated, but got 8th having wrestled (and lost) one match. Because continental championships are "B" events, points are worth more than ranking "C" events, so he received 4,000 for 8th, plus a bonus of 3,000 points for having 13-16 competitors in the bracket, so 7,000 total points. Not bad for losing a match! Good news is, they're 2 and 3 seeds, so it really matters very little as they'll eventually meet in semis if they win out.
  17. @1032004 that 14 year or 63 year old…. Were they in the dope trade? Were they gang bangers?
  18. They are not starving. They are thieves.
  19. Now that we’ve experienced a RAF event, we know what to expect in terms of a broadcast, presentation, promotion, and matchmaking. We also have eight champions, which helps establish a pecking order within the weight classes. So, let’s stop wasting time and put together some “Matches to Make” at RAF 02. Now, here’s my logic in putting these matches together. Eric Bischoff stated that later this week, we’ll have a date and location for RAF 02. I am under the impression it will probably be in November. With that in mind, I did not include anyone who is participating in the Senior World Championships (for the USA or other countries). I’d imagine Izzy Martinez and Willie Saylor are already inundated with calls and texts from wrestlers interested in participating in future cards. With a potential card in November, I’m sure they’d like to have matches locked in ASAP. Having to wait a few weeks to see if the world teamers are healthy and available after the world championships might not be ideal. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a bunch that still want to compete and it makes for an even better product. Also, I did not include anyone currently enrolled in college. Aeoden Sinclair and Kennedy Blades were pulled from the card because of eligibility concerns had they competed after classes started at their respective schools and before November 1st. Hopefully, we’ll see college athletes be able to compete in-season, but for the intents and purposes of this article, I didn’t include any. Remember, this is not my top ten dream matches to make. These are ten matches that would make sense within the next two months and either builds off RAF 01 or sets a framework for future events. (This would also be my match order). Michael McGee vs. Seth Gross Willie Saylor explained on his RAF recap show with Justin Basch that this bout was booked in case any other matchup fell through on the RAF 01 card. Before Holly Holm agreed to step up in place of Kennedy Blades, it was thought that this match would be added to the card. Why not lead off the card with this one? Seth Gross is almost guaranteed to create fireworks. RAF wants high-scoring, fast-paced matches. Michael McGee had an incredible trajectory in his high school career. He went 1-2 at his first NCAA Tournament and defeated Daton Fix in his last collegiate match. This may not be a #1 contender type match (yet), but it’s one to get the crowd in the arena into the event and hungry for more action. Jordan Oliver vs. Bryce Andonian One of the guys that I saw on social media commenting on the matches and wanting a championship belt was Jordan Oliver. Oliver has been one of the most popular wrestlers of his time and has since moved on to an MMA career. Since he’s not wrestling full-time, it’s probably not appropriate for him to get a world team member or someone at the very top of the ladder. How about Bryce Andonian? Andonian is always up for a match. Like Seth Gross, win or lose, an Andonian match is fun. I think someone with Andonian’s talent and skill set could bring the best match out of Oliver. If you paired Oliver with an opponent who will just handfight for six minutes, he might do the same. But with Andonian, they could end up throwing the kitchen sink back and forth at each other. Ridge Lovett vs. Andrew Alirez I actually would make this a #1 contender matchup at 145 lbs - if both wrestlers are capable of making the weight. We’ll have Real Woods waiting in the wings for either. This is a matchup of two NCAA champions: Lovett, fresh off his title in 2025 and Alirez, who won his in 2023. You’re crazy if you think RAF wasn’t made for Ridge Lovett. I’d guess he already has a victory dance or pose picked out for his first win. Alirez has an interest in boxing and MMA, as well, so he knows how to play the game and sell a fight. Lovett was a semifinalist at the World Team Trials, losing 3-2 to PJ Duke. That result has aged much better with Duke defeating Yianni twice at Final X. Alirez might be better in free than folkstyle and he was never “right” during the 2024-25 season. He needed surgery immediately after the NCAA season. If he’s healthy, I want this match ASAP! Jenna Burkert vs. Alejandra Rivera Speaking of RAF being made for specific people! Jenna Burkert. Come on, enough said. Similar to Sarah Hildebrandt, Burkert can be lovable and relatable off the mat, but intense and physical on the mat. Eric Bischoff has repeatedly mentioned “storytelling” as a key aspect of RAF. Burkert’s story would be incredible in a promotional setting. Even though she’s focused on high school coaching, Burkert has remained a very popular figure on social media and in mentoring young girls. If she’s interested, you have to get her on a card! Sometimes in the matchmaking business, you have to throw someone a bone for being a team player. Alejandra Rivera stepped up to wrestle Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blades. That’s quite the monumental task she signed up for. Rivera also hung in there as plans were modified 24 hours before her match and took on a combat sports legend in Holly Holm. I could see Burkert/Rivera as a physical, knock-down-drag-out affair. Aaron Brooks vs. Patrick Downey Both Aaron Brooks and Pat Downey are linked to RAF already. Brooks was announced by the organization as one of their early signees. Downey recently announced on social media that he had inked with the company. Downey has talked trash over social media about Penn State/NLWC wrestlers (Carter Starocci and Kyle Snyder). Why not give him someone from that crew? I’d actually like the Starocci match more; however, we saw it at the 2024 Olympic Trials and I’m not sure whether Starocci has interest in RAF. At the Olympic Trials, the event that Brooks won, this might have been a mismatch. But, we haven’t seen Brooks in action since the Olympics and may not for a while based on a looming suspension. So, I don’t know if we're getting an Olympic-ready version of Brooks. Downey has as much natural talent as any wrestler out there, but has been focused on grappling, of late. Both are also from Maryland, different parts of the state, but that gives some additional bragging rights. One thing we saw on Saturday was an MMA-ish face-off between Wyatt Hendrickson and Mason Parris. At one point, Izzy Martinez jumped in front of the to give the impression that the two were going to fight on the spot. I don’t think anyone actually thought Hendrickson and Parris were going to fight and it might have been a bit silly and contrived. With that being said, there might be actual beef between Downey and the NLWC contingent. You could see real trash talk over social media and real contentiousness at the pre-match press conference and such. Gable Steveson vs. Adam Coon We saw the aforementioned face-off between Hendrickson and Parris. That’s a title match in the works and I love it. So, let’s get the next title match set up. Gable Steveson is an athlete whose name comes up immediately when fans are asked who they want to see in RAF. Let’s not wait six months from now to have Steveson against the winner of Hendrickson/Parris, get him on a card now. It’s difficult to find a unique and credible opponent for Steveson. If he’s close to the top of his game, only a few heavyweights can go with him. Trent Hillger would be next on the ladder after making Final X. Hayden Zillmer is up there, too. Both have likely trained with Steveson at the Gopher WC and I’m not sure if either of them presents a matchup that fans would totally embrace - aside from seeing Gable back in action. That brought me to Adam Coon. Remember, even though Coon’s best style is Greco, he made Final X in 2018 in freestyle. Coon was also a three-time top-three finisher at NCAA’s and has a career win over Kyle Snyder. Coon would represent a bit of a different test than most of the current heavyweights. Coon is more of a throwback to your father’s heavyweight. Big, tall, close to the weight limit (though RAF is unlimited). Not someone who is likely to hit low singles and get in long scrambles. To be honest, that’s what a lot of the heavyweights are still like internationally. At this point, I don’t know Coon’s status. The last time we saw him, he was choked unconscious in the Greco Trials at the US Open and had to default out of the tournament. Daton Fix vs. Nick Suriano There are a lot of ways you can go at 135 lbs to create a potential contender and matchup for Nathan Tomasello. Spencer Lee, Roman Bravo Young, Vito Arujau, Darian Cruz - maybe some international guys. I don’t have an issue with any of them getting the fast track to take on Tomasello. You could also make a match like this one to create that number one contender. Nick Suriano. He’s the white whale of Senior level wrestling. Maybe you get a sighting on Instagram every Tuesday. Hopefully, he’ll return to the mat at some point. Until then, he’ll be one of the more sought-after potential participants in RAF. There aren’t too many names that will bring fans to watch, on name recognition alone, and regardless of opponent. Suriano happens to be one of those athletes. When he’s at his best, Suriano has the potential to make a world team and medal. Even if he has to go through the likes of Lee, Arujau, or Fix. I haven’t seen Daton Fix associated with RAF yet, but I’d expect him to be in the mix at some point. Fix wasn’t a key player in the hunt for a world team spot in 2025, but he has the hardware and typically is one of the key figures. This pair also has quite a history. The storied Who’s #1 match without overtime. The controversial NCAA final in 2019. It doesn’t seem like these guys are capable of wrestling just a regular match. Evan Wick vs. Keegan O’Toole Let’s get our first title defense. I saw some questions on Twitter about whether titles would be on the line on every card. I don’t want to speak for RAF, but I imagine they won’t do that. Similar to the UFC, spread them out and find ways to have a couple on each card. It makes more financial sense to scatter six desired title matches spread across three cards, rather than all six at once. The breakout star from RAF 01 was Evan Wick (with some help from Jason Nolf). The pair had a back-and-forth match with lots of offense and constant action. I feel like we could get some similar fireworks with a Keegan O’Toole matchup. He has the freestyle credentials (U20 world champ) and wins within the last year over Senior World Team member, Levi Haines, and Dean Hamiti (both in freestyle). There’s also the added element that both wrestlers have history training under Ben Askren. Could be a fun wrinkle. Sarah Hildebrandt vs. Vinesh Phogat I’ll stress. This needs to be a matchup that is made once RAF’s international streaming agreements have been finalized. So, after Vinesh Phogat posted a monumental upset over Yui Susaki, this was supposed to be the Olympic gold medal match. Phogat failed to make weight and Hildebrandt won the gold medal. For days, and perhaps weeks, after the Olympic finals, Indian fans flocked to Hildebrant’s Instagram page and touted Phogat and questioned the validity of the gold medal. With all that on the table, let’s settle it once and for all. Once again, I’d wait on this match until you have a massive Indian audience available to purchase the card! Yianni Diakomihalis vs. David Baev In the post-event press conference, it seemed like Yianni Diakomihalis and Kyle Dake legitimately had a lot of fun participating in RAF 01 and were eager to get back on the mat. So, let’s run Yianni back out there. On Diakomihalis’ Instagram, Baev responded to a picture of Yianni from the event and said, “Nice belt. Soon on my waist,” before tagging RAF. For those not familiar with Baev, he was a Senior world champion in 2019. In 2017, he won a Junior World title, beating Ryan Deakin in the finals. Though he is not Russia’s representative at the 2025 World Championships, Baev did win a European Championship this year. That means he’s still at the top of his game. This would be a great test for Yianni and it has the potential for some great action. The promotional aspect of USA vs Russia almost sells itself, too. Of course, this is all contingent on getting Russian wrestlers into the country for an event - I’m sure there are some hoops to jump through to make it happen. Bonus matches The legend versus world team matches ended up being one-sided in favor of the current stars, as you probably assumed they would be. I’m not sure if that’s the route to go in the future; however, I don’t want to eliminate any legends from competing. So, how about legend versus legend? Maybe Brent Metcalf versus Dustin Schlatter? For 2004-25, this was the equivalent of Jax Forrest/Marcus Blaze type recruiting clashing. At one point in time, the RAF website showed James Green versus Austin O’Connor as a match for RAF 01. If they ever want to revisit that, I’m all for it. Green has been at his best competing above 65 kg and still can get it done. We’re not sure exactly what to expect from O’Connor in a freestyle setting, but he’s a two-time NCAA champion, so I imagine he will compete just fine.
  20. Always an excuse for a piss poor culture. They don't have to steal a damn thing. There are soup kitchens, non-profits all over that cater to the poor and feeding them, but please continue to blame every problem on "wingers" and not the people committing the crimes.
  21. Today
  22. back in my day it was all about your Top 8
  23. No, but letting people starve increases theft. The dumb wingers are making life more difficult for poor people and then act surprised and angry when crime increases in poorer areas. Then claim that the solution is to crack down even harder on them.
  24. You got it twisted. Bo is going to follow Melvin.
  25. So stealing handbags is going to feed the poor?
  26. Ok, skimmed through the entrants list and didn't spot anyone. So it could impact Firouzpour.
