Oh, the irony. Or karma. If the claims against the prosecutor in this case are treated the same way, she could be facing felony charges that number in the hundreds.

Is Dake’s head coaching announcement eminent?
wrestle87 replied to headshuck's topic in College Wrestling
Grey is a much better coach. He has been in that roll since his injury redshirt season, he’s going to be there until he retires. With his background he basically has bergen catholic and delbarton on lockdown, you can pull down 4 AA’s all day long just recruiting those two rooms. Now BC just needs to get dave bell back in there somehow. -
I would agree Dake would have no problem with Messenbrick.

I haven't been that low since my senior year of high school. It would require loss of muscle. Give me three or four months and a significant NIL deal -
Da hell is the gameplan here? Dake steamrolls messenbrick.

Is 285 the most overrated weight class of all time?
wrestle87 replied to peanut's topic in College Wrestling
There is no weight class that has yielded more US olympic and international success than heavyweight. Not overrated. Bruce Baumgartner Steven Neal Kerry Mccoy Rulon Gartner Tervel Dlagnev Nick Gwiazdowski Kyle Snyder Gable Steveson Also, thin (lol)? Is there a spate of teams failing to recruit heavyweights? I think this does the big guys some disservice. The physics are very different at that weight, but that doesn’t make them less sophisticated wrestlers. Heavyweight has been home to the best technical rivalries internationally for the better part of the past decade (akgul, petriashvili, steveson, and whatever that iranian dude’s name was). -
Is Dake’s head coaching announcement eminent?
wrestle87 replied to headshuck's topic in College Wrestling
There is a level of excellence beyond which you basically have to be what most people see as a sociopath in order to achieve your goals. Kolat has this, Slay has this (personal experience), Dake definitely has this to be as successful as he was coming out of Cornell, he did EVERYTHING himself, he’s a lone mountain man as arguably any of the very top tier coming out of the US have ever been. His cornell teams were pretty good, but not on his level. He had to go to some deep places on his own, didn’t really have a team, and those experiences are so crucial for making really great coaches. If he was a coach he’d basically be Pai Mei from kill bill. -

truth He also has stated multiple times, he is family oriented and the college coaching demands do not match his preferred lifestyle. I think the same could have been said to an extent about DT, so if the check is big enough, his lifestyle preferences might adjust. -

Has anyone had enough experience observing Dake in coaching situations or even in training situations that would lead one to believe that he would be good head coaching material? I have no opinion either way, but in talking with a few who have worked with him, he has not left a good impression. -
Hey everyone who am I ? NO standing up for your beliefs/ the other side has beliefs too NO having an opinion before waiting until the judges have decided NO arguing its mean NO derailing a thread with info that has nothing to do with the title of the thread Always look at the message and not the messenger Do as I say not as I’d do when I do it it’s funny it’s ok to have TDS

I wrestled tons of freestyle when I was a kid and in college. States. Fargo. Etc. I liked it. Tbh. You already have a freestyle season. Why come for folkstyle season? Can’t we just have both. Folkstyle can have the fans and the better national tournament. Freestyle can have far less attend the us open and wtt and we can be fine.

I’m too old to be yelling Fbombs at the TV over a hockey game. Both teams score two goals in 11 seconds each. Panthers get the win to go up 3-1 in the battle of Florida! What a game. Elimination on the table Wednesday night Night night all.

Did Iowa fans enjoy Mocco versus Mirasola?
de4856 replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Well I am of a different opinion, I think that adding the push out rule would add another layer to Folkstyle. I like the current Freestyle rules, the pace is far quicker and I believe the fans like it. But I recognize that Folkstyle is different and the size of a particular mat may be an issue, so unless the NCAA’s adopt this rule, this is purely argumentative. -

Freestyle isn’t as exciting unfortunately. Used to be years ago…. Pre ball grab and the other rules. Not so much any more. -
The majority of people don’t like what is foreign to them. In my experience, most wrestlers and fans that truly get to know both styles end up preferring freestyle. I know that won’t change your mind and that’s ok. I agree we don’t have to completely change folkstyle. But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with changing the rules to make a good product better.

I propose we try this at a single tournament next year and Soldier Salute seems appropriate. Slight modification in rules: pushout 2pt, takedown 1pt, leglace -1pt. It should be exiting! -
This board had argued this time and again majority of fans don’t like freestyle majority of athletes don’t like freestyle. most “wrestling” Americans don’t care if we do better in worlds or Olympics and we’re already a world power so there isn’t much more we can improve on the world stage I posted #s to back both up last summer maybe. Not going to look up the thread….. very very small % of wrestlers make it to the wtt level. You’re ruining a sport for more athletes for a few more / better medals. It’s selfish on the freestyle peeps part. pretend this is in caps: you already have a freestyle season. Use it. you don’t have to wrestle folkstyle if you want to be a oly champ… you just can go to Colorado or a rtc no one is stopping the super elite from being super elite. Freestyle is everywhere. Go wrestle it if you want to. leave folkstyle alone. You will ruin it for 85+% of the fans.

I don’t think they (UWW) care what America does with its folkstyle. I do think we would be better served and have a better product if we could work some freestyle concepts into folk. Step outs would be a huge improvement. I also would like to see some way stop the boring endless riding (ex. The ref brings them up after a certain amount of time). I do like the control aspect of folkstyle but overall the rules are better in freestyle. We could definitely make folk a little more like free while still maintaining the core concepts of folkstyle

I don’t disagree/argue the push out guy won the match. I think the rules are just stupid. So fair. But. Please don’t pollute folkstyle with this nonsense. Could you imagine a push out rule at NCAAs with those tiny little mats given how small the venues are.
