It is disheartening how Brooks comments (and the thinking of the far right Christians) denigrate the Christian religion. It is evil of me to really hope this guy gets elected? Is it evil of me to hope that New York City voters get a full measure of exactly what they have/are voting into office? The problem is that many of the consequences of their choices won't become apparent immediately but will affect citizens for years to come. It is the suffering of the people who can't vote in this election that checks my schadenfreude a bit. I have no concern for the adults don't currently live in NY who freely choose to move there and then must suffer. It is the children who currently live there who will grow up and inherit the situation that keep my glee in check.
