I am sure some guy waking up in a 3rd world country, trying to figure out how he is going to feed his family, will feel inspired by you walking over and marching in your $150 shoes, rainbow hair, and sign. He will feel like you have his back and that you are against entitled ass holes... Way to do your part, RV!

Crap Country: U.S. 46th In Life Expectancy
Viratas replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Again, use specific where anyone said that? I am all for affordable healthcare for everyone, not just those at the bottom. Maybe we could come up with a system that works if either side grew up and had adult conversations. What I liked about the old MN system is that it was a sliding scale based on income, which makes sense. Household Size – 100% FPG (2024) / 201% FPG (Salary) 1 Person: $15,060 | $30,270.60 2 Persons: $20,440 | $41,084.40 3 Persons: $25,820 | $51,898.20 4 Persons: $31,200 | $62,712.00 For each additional person, add: $5,380 | + $10,813.80 So based on this, a single mom, with one child, making a salary of $41,084 would not qualify, and under ObamaCare, does not need help with insurance. She will get the subsidy, sure, which is a shell game. You get a lower premium, a very high deductible, and max out of pocket (for a person with no real disposable income). I believe in a far higher FPG threshold, and a sliding scale to make the premium, deductible, and max out-of-pocket reasonable. The real issue is that we are not attacking the problem, which is the terrible system we have created that allows everyone to overcharge. Drug companies charge too much, especially for new drugs, of which they only have a 7-year window to recover the R&D and government approval costs (unless you are a COVID-19 vaccine). How much of that is all true? Not sure. It should not cost $200 for me to get a check-up with no real tests or treatments. There are numerous non-poltical reasons HC is stupid high. But we need are best thinkers to stop thinking with their partisan brains and start thinking with their real brains. Your turn, RV, what are your specific recommendations? -

So which of the crazy wingers here want to turn poor people away from clinics and hospitals? Instead of whining and playing victim as always, what's your solution? -
Why can't we switch to the 2-piece?
Griff the BullRam replied to meZYNbrink's topic in College Wrestling
Agreed. I've been coaching high school for 14 years. Since the two piece was allowed, we've given every kid on our team the option of choosing that over the singlet. Some of the newer wrestlers would choose the two piece, but the experienced kids almost always chose the singlet. Sure, some of it is that the two piece is new and the guys with experience just couldn't get on board with that. The first year at our state tournament, some of the better teams who qualified most of the kids would have everyone wear the two piece, and there were a fair amount of other individual kids wearing the two piece. Since then, you don't see it a whole lot. I'm all for the it if it's really going to grow wrestling and get kids out that otherwise wouldn't, but at this point, it almost seems like a failed experiment. It's still great that kids have that option, and I applaud Flo for doing the two piece at WNO, but it simply hasn't caught on, and I don't think it's for a lack of trying. All this said, I still love it when D1 schools wear the two piece - Today

When it no longer exists. Can't get what does not exist. Pensions are pay-as-you-go. They are not open ended unfunded "promises". All investments have disclaimers warning about loses. Even savings accounts have limits of insurance. Pensions are not unconditionally indemnified by the taxpayers. There is a Pension Guaranty entity which I know almost nothing about but seems to be an avenue of some recourse. Unions have influence (direct control, actually) on the management of their pensions. My grand children should not be liable via a higher percentage of their life's energy being paid for crimes, decisions, and mistakes made by crooks involved with another person's perceived "promise". -

with my modern day coffee and cigarette (Zyn and energy drink I bring you pt 2) 79kg: Favorites: Levi haines (Senior world Silver), Mahdi Youseffi (u23 gold, 2x u20 gold) Medal threats: Davud Daudov (u23 russian national champion), Chandermohan (u23 asian gold, junior bronze) There is a lot being made about Youseffi vs Haines and surprisingly to me a lot of people picking Youseffi. Youseffis best win this year is Saipudinov who haines has also beaten twice. However after watching him struggle with Henckel who I think is very similar to Levi but less physically mature and not as good positionally yet, I cannot really see this match going well for Youseffi. Similarly to how it was at Seniors this weight is not particularly deep this year. Predictions: Gold: Levi Silver: Youseffi Bronze: Chandermohan Bronze: Daudov 86kg: Favorites: Rahmani (senior gold, u20 bronze), Rocco welsh, Mukhhammad abdullaev (2x u20 bronze), Ali tckoev (u20 bronze), Arsen Balaian (u20 bronze) This weight lacks a clear and far away favorite, and I could see all of the above wrestlers coming away with gold. Prior to u20's Rahmani would have certainly been the favorite here after he was competitive with zahid and Ghas. However after losing to Max he definitely feels much more beatable. Tckoev has been ranked on the senior level and is very long he will be a tricky matchup for Rocco stylistically. Predictions: Gold: Rahmani Silver: Tckoev Bronze: Rocco Bronze: Balaian 92kg: Favorites: Josh Barr (u20 silver, Muhkhamed Khaniev (u23 euro gold, cadet gold), Sherzod Poyonov (u20 gold), Azimi (u20 gold, Senior asian bronze at 97kg) medal threats: Magomed Shapirov (2x senior world participant), This weight is pretty brutal, Poyonov won Mirasolas weight at u20's and looked great. Khaniev is the older brother of the khaniev that beat dee locket and the younger brother of the khaniev that could be Mitchells biggest threat at 74kg. He teched his way through euros. Barr wrestled Trent arguably as well as anyone this year but its hard to know if trent got better after final x or if barr just had the perfect gameplan to slow him down. I do not know a ton about Azimi but his senior asian run up a weight is very impressive. Predictions: Gold: Khaniev Silver: Barr Bronze: Poyonov Bronze: Azimi 97kg: I do not think we are going to medal here Atimukhan and Yoshida are both entered and will be heavy favorites to make the finals. Irans Babaloo is also a former u20 world champ 125kg: Similar sentiment to 97kg. I think Nezhad from Iran is the favorite to win, and little geno is up at heavy now like big bro and I am interested to see how his style translates with the big boys.
