    It has to be technical wrestlers; the upper echelon chain wrestlers. I’m sorry, but what someone like Burroughs and Dake bring to the table doesn’t equate to premier coaching ability. Same for someone like Steveson. You can’t teach a kid how to be a freak athlete. They either are or they aren’t. Just my $.02.

    World Gold is great, but I don’t look at it as much when it’s in a non-Olympic weight. Just my personal observation. This is a fun debate. Top 3 are easy. The order is irrelevant, IMO. I guess Snyder is 4? I can’t help but wonder if 97 was watered down though, during his peak. He hasn’t changed one bit, and is so vulnerable now. He’s easily a top 5-7 in his class, which is AMAZING, but his Golds loss some flare for me once Sad grew into the weight.

    Jesus, Tyler Caldwell….. those defeats were to truly the elite of the elite. How many Nattys between those guys? 10? Forgot how many Howe won. And whoever pointed out Hidlay, I agree. He would definitely be a multi national champ IMO. But Brooks, man. Just bad timing for him.

    DT had one season to coach up two guys to beat two generational talents in the finals; one of which was a Oly Gold medalist. With stating that, it frustrates me how little O’Toole got any big admiration going into the Tourney. 2x champ, almost 3? Dang…. They treated him as an afterthought. Manning had a great season, but Taylor’s Cowboys opened the eyes to every recruit. From 10th to 3rd. Insane turnaround.

    Lovett did nothing. Absolutely nothing. He blocked and pushed OOB to get a questionable stalling. He looked worse than Vincent Robinson doing absolutely nothing to win as well.

    Unless an obvious Messenbrink or Steveson, the most surprising to me is the depth of college wrestling. Everyone truly has a shot. O’Toole was almost out, Robinson, etc. Look at the double digit seeds in the Round of 16! I freaking love it!

    I don’t know if I believe that Brands is #2. Iowa, the name, draws in recruits. Most of the recent top-level success on the mat, minus Lee, is from transfers. I just don’t see the development there.
