  1. That’s according to someone’s version of what is ‘right’ Building wealth has never been on some people’s (mine included) priority list. So we’re wrong?
  2. I would argue that what you are talking about is an effect from bad policy, not an effect from a person coming to this country wanting to make a better life for themselves, as pretty much every one of our founding fathers, or at least their parents, did. You saying by an immigrant coming they must be supported and if they work for a living they are taking a job from someone is just completely asinine and completely against the ideals this country was founded upon, at its cery core. If policy says 20% of a workforce has to be Hispanic, then that is an effect of bad policy. Yes anything illegal is written on paper, but if you can’t see the illegality difference between murder, and wanting to make a living in the United States, which is obviously the very clear point I was making, then I can’t help you there. But since we completely disagree that someone should not be allowed to come here and gain employment because I’m entitled because I was by chance born here, if you think that means I am more entitled to natural born freedoms than others not by chance born here, as a fundamental principle which is the theme of your post……well then I think you need to go through and read the constitution. To say the immigration policies are not complicated just shows your complete ignorance of them.
  3. Immigration policy, much like the tax code, is extremely complex, complicated, and has developed as much more of a tool for political prowess than the actual cause and effect for which it was (at least supposed to be) intended. Another way of saying that may be that there have been a substantial number of people who made substantial contributions to making this the greatest nation in the world, who arrived here in a manner that today would be described as illegal. So I have a hard time making that the one and only factor on whether or not someone deserves an opportunity to be here. An illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant because someone wrote something down on a piece of paper. Not because coming to these shores is some kind of invasion on someone else’s personal freedoms. I believe in follow the law and follow the rules. But I also believe when humanity is involved, ‘blanket policy’ is pretty tough.
  4. I'm not proposing anything be implemented, I'm smart enough to realize I'm not smart enough to argue the intricacies of the United States tax code, particularly in an audience so unbelievably astute in this (and next week's hot) topic. My point being I'm less concerned about what the tax code says a particular income bracket should pay and more concerned that that amount actually. For example I would be okay if everyone was at a flat 20%, as long as everyone actually paid 20%. Or, I would be okay if it remained bracketed, and the really smart people figured out a fair and equitable bracket system ( I mean I think if we get to brackets where people are paying at or near half their earned money in income tax, I'm not down with that).......generally speaking I'm okay with that as long as everyone pays their determined equitable share.
  5. Agreed. It’s all a choice. What career you take, what salary you accept, what you decide to spend. Long term investing is possible for everyone.
  6. Thank you for supplying the ranking source and I appreciate how they conducted it. I agree with you that base salary does not mean everything when it comes to accumulate wealth. But it certainly means a lot more than nothing. If you have $5 to invest at 5% you sure aren’t going to accumulate as much as if you had $50 to invest. Under that model, a kindergarten teacher at 35,000 a year with the same mortgage, used car, small school loan, and simple lifestyle isn’t going to accumulate the same as someone with the exact same expenses but a $75,000 salary. When the context is spend less invest more, salary has a huge impact. And there is a laaaaaarge salary range within the world of professional educators, which is why I would like to see how they categorize ‘teachers’ As for the tax discussion, I’d be completely in favor of one uniform tax percentage, or even dropping the percentage due from the ‘rich’, if we could ensure that what should be collected is actually collected.
  7. I didn’t see a ranking of the top five professions in what the author calls the PAW’s. I did see some examples of the UAW’s.
  8. Not yet, but check back in a couple hours. It’s possible.
  9. I know. You are not included in that ‘we’. It’s why I was informing you. If you were a part of ‘we’, you wouldn’t have needed informed.
  10. You really kinda need to categorize teachers here. There are ‘teachers’ who publish papers and do speaking engagements and research and things like that while their grad asst is doing the teaching. And then there are teachers that are in car line every morning. And that is not to say anything negative in anyway about any form of teacher, but I think I little more is warranted given the context.
  11. Nope, you don’t HAVE to have God’s gift to gain some enlightenment, but sometimes it can help get you started. We call them ‘groundings’.
  12. It’s like a video on loop…
  13. Did ya'll see the committee hearings so far today? The little MAGA party hasn't been going quite as they had hoped for....
  14. You have to respect the Harbaugh tree, between a father and two sons running the championship table.
  15. Did you prepare your words with Paul before you answered for him?
  16. I’m seriously curious: Which parts do you believe are lies, and what led you to believe they were lies?
  17. Nah, most Americans are only tired of half the corruption in Washington, the other half of the corruption is….okay.
  18. Michigan v Alabama was the most high level, competitive game of the entire bowl season. There’s a reason they all (committee) get together to watch all the games and discuss what they are seeing. The committee did their job well.
  19. Why do all these different sites and publishers feel individually like they have the never seen all comprehensive footage. Are they trying to compete with Tucker?
