  1. Tanner Jordan beat Volk, but Tanner Cook also won at 165. Too many Tanners on that team
  2. Don't waste time on buying individual stocks. All you need is a low cost diversified total market index fund from a company like Vanguard, Fidelity, or Schwab. Beats the stock pickers every time. VTSAX and chill.
  3. Of the 7 that left, only 1 or 2 had a sure path to starting at Minny this year and the rest would have been in battles for starting spots. McKee vs. Spratley ? Wells vs. Nagao X VomBaur vs. Jamison X X Roberts vs. Polanco X Blockhus vs. Lee Brenner vs. Carlson ? Tabor vs. Kluever ?
  4. Dual vs. Tournament...the different scoring methods benefit teams differently One type of team can be built quickly with the portal + . The other requires development and coaching.
  5. Minnesota had 7 wrestlers transfer this off-season that are currently starting on their new team... Spratley (OSU), Nagao (PSU), Jamison (OSU), Polanco (Pur), Lee (IND), Carlson (OU), Kluever (Hof). Michigan had 5 All-Americans transfer in, and yet Minnesota still has a higher ranked dual team. #Development
  6. Did Boo Dryden and Kyle Burwikk ever get a fair wrestle-off. That's gotta be dang near a foot difference.
  7. Ben Kueter, IA vs. Jack Jessen, NW was probably a 7 inch difference.
  8. 184 Max McEnelly is 15-0.
  9. Kind of crazy when we aren't even all that shocked when a high schooler beat a #1 ranked in NCAA.
  10. They haven't recruited the greatest but with what they have this year, some of their guys are exceeding my expectations (Rivera, Maylor, Liegel) and Barnett and Hamiti are doing well. I think the bottom half of the Big10 (Wisconsin, Purdue, MSU, Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Illinois) are more even than most years.
  11. He was 12-0 coming into today, with only 3 being regular decisions, so it was kind of working for him.
  12. Wells was a beast on his feet in high school. The kind of guy that would score 10 different kinds of takedowns in a match. He has been very cautious his last few matches, which paid off today. Once he gains a little more confidence at this level I think we see him open it up a bit.

    1 v 2

At the beginning of the match the announcer said Keckeisen is a lanky wrestler and Plott is a little thicker, or something like that. Funny how people have different perception cuz I'd swear Plott is a tad taller.
  14. Do alpha males typically pose doing schoolgirl cheerleader splits?
  15. Minnesota Elite, coached by Chad Erickson and Dakota Trom, have a lot of the top MN high school kids too. Robideau(s), Bissel(s), and Friedrichs brothers, Alex Braun, Logan Swenson.
  16. Pinnacle out of Minnesota has a ton of prospects in D1.
  17. Minnesota has tapped into mostly Max's AWA location with Ethan Riddle last year and Wyatt Duchateau, Charlie Millard, and Silas Dailey this year.
  18. Some overachievers there, career-wise, based on recruiting rankings. The Dardanes had a rough NCAA that year, seeded 6 and 2 but did not place. Oddly enough both the twins got knocked out of the tournament by an Edinboro wrestler.
  19. Illinois twitter says, postponed due to internal medical condition with the Northwestern team. Anyone know what's up....flu/covid, or maybe skin issues?
  20. It was a weird match.
  21. Typical Brands interview.... Reporter 1: Coach, what were your thoughts on the match tonight? TB: WHHHAT WERRRE MY THOOOUGHTS?! Next question. Reporter 2: Were you happy with the win tonight? TB: Define happy. Reporter 3: What were your takeaways from the match? TB: We like our guys. Reporter 4: Any upcoming news for the die-hard Iowa fans? TB: You've been around long enough to know not to ask that question.
  22. Has there ever been a coach who gets more annoyed/impatient when answering softball questions about his own team?
  23. Michael Blockhus over #2 Jared Franek 5-4. Great to see the Iowa kid go into Carver and get the win.
