    I was curious about the progress made on the funding status. Anyone aware if they are close at all to the original 2 million dollar goal?

    Some are great at handling certain aspects of a program. Maybe he wasn't meant to be the overarching generalist.

    They recruit very well though. Is that his doing or the doing of others? If its him that is influencing the recruiting success and he is interested in supporting the team in a role that steps back responsibilities, maybe they can accommodate that while promoting another fresh face to head coach. I'm not advocating for this but just brainstorming

    He had some personal issues that he was dealing with during his college selection process - and those that were not his fault at all. I am really rooting for him to turn it around. I remember him scrapping with Feldman back in the day

    some of the smaller schools provide consistent opportunities for true freshman. Sometimes they do a lot better than people expect. Take Dillon Bechtold from Bucknell this season. True freshman at a lower profile school and made the round of 16 at 197 - an extremely competitive weight this year. I'm sure we will have some surprise candidates next year as well.

    I got it from a local garden center and it never bore any fruit - so its also possible I was working with a different variety than what was claimed

    I've tried growing san marzanos before but I failed to get any fruit from the plant. I'm awful at gardening although I do keep trying to improve.

    He did always have a great attitude. Always a smile on his face. Seem to truly enjoy the sport. From the outside looking in, he also appear to be a great teammate.

    He's been at Illinois for six years now. I wonder if there is a grad program somewhere else that he decides to use for his last year? Or remains at Illinois for all seven years. It's a great school with a lot of offerings so he can certainly find a good selection of grad programs there.
