That's fair enough. I was always expected to wrestle sick as a kid - even if I would lose because of the lack of energy, because the coach knew I would resist being pinned even when sick better than the backup. My first year when I was seven, we won the league championship, I was so sick with the flu, I puked throughout the night and morning of the championships. 102 degree fever - coach bumped me up to 48 lbs and said if I don't get pinned, he thinks we will win the dual (I didn't and we did).
So in that respect, it seems silly that a young adult would prefer to protect his record when little kids are expected to step up. But I get that it's far more intense to go through a college match with the flu than it is a youth match.
