  1. I'm not really familiar with Tracy. he looks long for the weight
  2. seems like the normal color to me. maybe you're developing a sophisticated palette of color preferences as you age.
  3. Robinson is coffee-quick. Spratley with a strength advantage, but NC State takes the first match in an upset!
  4. Vincent Robinson is back wrestling! This should be a close match
  5. I'll take "When will the rest of the Intermat Wrestling Forums pronounce Josh Barr as the next big thing?, Alex"
  6. it was Justin Ruffin from Edwardsville that had to drop out from injury
  7. I think while it may be tempting to laugh at their expense, for a sport that is dying in numbers, we would be better served to be more inclusive to those that are trying to learn the sport.
  8. Anecdotally, I remember Wyatt Sheets was a 33rd seeded AA
  9. Couple thoughts on what it has made it a down year for me: 1. Duals don't matter anymore - only March (been happening for years, but feels like its reached a tipping point) 2. In season tournaments don't matter as much any more - only March (been happening for years, but feels like its reached a tipping point) 3. The team race in March has been decided for years - its Penn State. So with duals and in season tournaments rendered meaningless, and the final tournament already decided, you have to focus on individual weight classes to find an interesting narrative. Gable Steveson reentering college wrestling as the clear favorite also removes the excitement from one of the ten weight classes (as it seems obvious he will win). So we're down to 9 weight classes that we hope are not too one-sided. Or you could eagerly watch for which team will place in second. And then add to all of this - that in order to follow a team or to follow the most important in season activity, you need to subscribe to about five different services - many of whom have struggled with quality and reliability of broadcast.
  10. unless they start at 157, and he has to come right off the scale, I will go ahead and favor Fish in that matchup (should be close). I see NC State as a favorite at 133, but not by much.
  11. I think this sounds about right. There is a slight chance of a shutout
  12. Someone stabbed him with a broken bong
  13. yes you can take the Broad Street Line (the orange one). Straight north from the stadium is basically where the actual downtown Philly is located so you'll find more to do around there.
  14. My recommendation was going to be that yes - the public transport should be fine - but travel in groups especially at night.
  15. Thanks for the updates!
  16. I was really looking forward to the 174 match. What happened to O'Toole? Was it a beak and feathers issue?
  17. NC St vs OK St is an awesome Monday night feature
  18. Witcraft in years past was a one trick pony. He is a much more well rounded wrestler this year it seems.
  19. I think Mendez will be 149 next year (thought I had heard it somewhere reliable) but regardless - I dont think he needs to be particularly afraid of anyone (Marcus Blaze or anyone else)
  20. bold prediction in the sense that Mendez has one already and two more years of eligibility. I think he wins at least one more and Davino takes at least one himself. But maybe thats me being bold
  21. My expectation from the start of the season is that he would be a minimal participant - probably due to the weight cut. To miss the weight at WT trials means it must be a pretty big pull. They might be scheduling him to wrestle the required number of matches just in time - that is if he can make the weight in an effective way. @ionel, any word?
  22. That's fair enough. I was always expected to wrestle sick as a kid - even if I would lose because of the lack of energy, because the coach knew I would resist being pinned even when sick better than the backup. My first year when I was seven, we won the league championship, I was so sick with the flu, I puked throughout the night and morning of the championships. 102 degree fever - coach bumped me up to 48 lbs and said if I don't get pinned, he thinks we will win the dual (I didn't and we did). So in that respect, it seems silly that a young adult would prefer to protect his record when little kids are expected to step up. But I get that it's far more intense to go through a college match with the flu than it is a youth match.
  23. McCrone vs Kilkeary Sammy Sasso vs Paddy Gallagher e'Than Birden vs Bryce Hepner Shumate vs Geog Dylan Gilcher vs Cam Catrabone Fisher vs Stewart Cael Hughes vs Reece Wittcraft Tyler Kasak vs Alex Facundo Lucas Stoddard vs Brady Colbert (the latter of which has quietly won 20 matches as a true freshman backup) Julian Farber vs Cory Land Patrick Kennedy vs Gabe Arnold
