I was there, and it's possible (but in my opinion unlikely because Davis was in the PSU corner) that I missed a very early handshake because there was a lot of discussion in the stands at the time and my head may have been turned away. But I can say for sure that Kilkeary was not on the mat any time close to when Davis had his arm raised and Davis did the mime handshake with a pretend Kilkeary.

Since PSU won in 2011 it is hard for me to say Cael was wrong. My understanding (and I have no inside information) is that the real reason Bubba left PSU was that he broke team rules. What team rules? Cael and Bubba have different versions of what transpired. If team rules were broken and Bubba was challenging the coaching staff would awarding Bubba the spot at 157 been the right LT move? ~ Would Taylor have stayed if he was compelled to go to 167? If he was winning in the room? As a RS freshman was Taylor ready for the move up? In final anaylsis, I can't argue with results. Cael won in 2011 and built a foundation for a strong run in years after. You may be right but its a bridge too far for me.

I would take Talyor's and Deans's contributions to PSU over Bubba and Beard. Beard has the opportunity to build a case this season. But Bubba over Taylor's two titles, four finals, tournament bonus points and post graduations contribution to the RTC? Depends on the level of Brand's base of opoerations relative to Cael for issuing statements. If Brand's operates out of hell, as as implied by some on this forum, then prossibly not. Hiking/camping/outdoors at State College is just fine actually for both winter and summer activities. The one positive thing it lacks that the west coast has in abundance is an ocean. So boating, fishing, swimming in nature is limited to its plentiful lakes and rivers. Or you can drive the 4 1/2 hours to the ocean and spend a weekend as many (not me, I have too much to do locally) do. So it's not a fatal flaw.

How much revenue sharing exists with research grants? Do the "have-nots" get much in hand-me-downs from the "have-a-lots""? How much sharing really exists? I don't know much about the research world other than a vague impression that it varies wildly between that of adding value and being worthless political pork. How does a school like Carnegie Mellon get so much when it is not part of an alliance like Ivy League, B10 etc? Does the CMU example mean that being a part of an alliance is not the critical factor in getting $$$? Many questions here.
