  1. Looks like a great hire!
  2. Ok, so the whole context was arguing earlier in the post between posters about Lee being a quitter, Starocci being a quitter, etc. Wrestle87, an Iowa hater, came to Lee's defense and mentioned other guys that get a pass for forfeiting. I added Kerk to the list as another. You can feel however you want, I'm just trying to see if people are consistent. It sounds as if you are.
  3. OK... so do you think Lee quit on his team? Starocci? Kerk sure gets hurt a lot! In fact PSU seems to be injured more and more these days...
  4. So you think he's going to go pin, pin, tech, tech like Bassett?
  5. * Perhaps you noticed the part about "being better lately?" But now that you mention: that dec over true freshman Welsh isn't bonus points either. Nor is Kennedy a top 10 seed. The Lewis match didn't count. Do you think he will bonus Lewis next week? Because what I read in the post that I responded to was that he was going to bonus guys like Bo Bassett did at PA states. Bassett went pin, pin, tech, tech. You really think Carter is going to do that?
  6. I borrowed it from another poster. I like it.
  7. Unfortunately, Fix is pretty savvy in upper body positions. I would love to see my last favorite world team member since PD3 get stuck.
  8. He's been better lately, but since when has Stall Rocky been a bonus point machine (against top 10 type opponents)? And now with suspect conditioning and a bum knee, he is supposed to clobber everyone? I can see him winning the tournament, but unlikely bonusing his way though.
  9. Didn't Kerk quit the year before?
  10. Yes. Also the same Ramirez who ducked Carr. He may score a few, but will not be able to keep up with MM for seven minutes. He will wilt. Wilt. Wrestling MM is just a bit more taxing on the lungs than those guys.
  11. Not to mention, Stall Rocky's conditioning didn't look spectacular prior to the injury. I would be quite surprised if the injury improved his wind.
  12. A guy I knew pretty well was a finalist, was tested, and had used a banned substance and was worried about test results. He never heard his results, so we assume he did not pop. This was quite a ways back.
  13. Unfortunately, I can't see a lot of that stuff happening. For one, I can't see Ramirez having the tank to go with MM for 7 minutes in the semi. I might also fall asleep if Bartlett and Matthews wrestle.
  14. A more specific rumor mentioned by wrestling "insiders" was that their last workout went very very badly for Gilman. I am not sure if this was made Thomas leave, or if the move had already been planned.
  15. Your fair approach to this is commendable. Many others are blinded by their hatred.
  16. How dirty was he after he transferred to Iowa? Dirty, not just being a jerk.
  17. It was good, but I would have been happy with 30-45 minutes.
  18. I thought it was an NCAA employee escorting him to do a presser?
  19. !00%? Highly unlikely.
  20. Just going by what Bruce Burnett said!
  21. I think Kendall Cross once said something about getting a lot better when he started "approaching practice as if it were the most important thing on earth and approaching matches as if they didn't matter." (Also, I know Kendall got a lot better when he started using baseline offense first, and resorting to gumby scrambles when all else failed- something I'd love to see Yianni do)
  22. I think Coach Koll liked Vito's points.
  23. I mentioned that on the thread as it was playing; but they kept on playing it when Glazier came out. Heavyweights also had their own song. Unfortunately, I think it was the song for the weight class and not chosen by athletes. Aaron may have chosen some "worship music" as he once mentioned on Baschamania.
  24. I think MM had some difficulty focusing on outcomes of positions and matches in the past; this is probably a change that he needed to make over the past year or so. (based on what a Wisconsin-based poster wrote on this board multiple times before the transfer)
  25. People who are emotionally invested in matches, and don't have a complete understanding of the rule and interpretation, don't like when someone who has a better knowledge of the sport (but no emotional investment) makes tough calls. This is especially true because Angel does mostly high stakes duals and 50+% of the audience is going to be unhappy with some of the the calls. There is a reason why he continues to get the big matches and that is because he is consistently rated as high as just about anyone in the country on his application of the rules, mechanics, positioning, etc.
