  1. Oborududu checking that doo-doo? On another more relevant subject, Oborududu is the only one who was ever able to match TMS power for power, once TMS hit her stride and started winning titles.
  2. To be fair, Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan is also a former Worlds Champion. She also took 3rd at 2020(1) Olympics losing to the Nigerian that she has next round.
  3. Two time defending WC (from other weight classes, yeah...) and it still isn't a bad take. J/s.
  4. HOLY SHIT. Ozaki down 6-4 gets a TD with a minute to go. KGZ goes and gets one with 7 seconds left. Ozaki was WC at 62 KG in 2022, at 65 KG in 2023 and does not make the Finals this year. Stalled her way to a loss in the final seconds.
  5. Uguev. 5th last year and multiple time champion (2 Worlds, 1 Olympic), including three straight from 2018-2020(1).
  6. I believe what @jchapman would say is that we likely don't see him at 57 KG again unless it is held in Serbia. I believe a lot of people would have said that prior to it ever being in Serbia. Hell, even though I won't wear my tinfoil hat with this one, I will say that it is odd that he was already competing at 65 KG up until two months prior to Worlds last year...
  7. A 3-1 loss to the defending World Champ and odds-on favorite to win isn't that horrible. He likely will get pulled in, if the Iranian gets by Lopez. It could benefit Coon in that I could see Lopez not wrestling Repechage if he make sit through.
  8. He knows. He is generally not a Turdbiscuit, though, so I take him trying to dunk on someone who has already accomplished so much more in this sport than he could have ever dreamed of as a 'him' thing.
  9. 10-2 for Elor. Garbage time TD for the defending world champ from Turkey when Elor was up 8-0 (~10 seconds to go).
  10. Excuse me, gents, while I fanboy here...
  11. I was going to post something mean, but then it dawned on me that you might just be jealous. I imagine that is a bad headspace to be in. Mental health awareness in men is important and I am here for you, if you need soemone.
  12. So one of three (3) things will happen with the 57 KG bracket. 1 ) Serbia will have a replacement wrestler come in. I believe they had a recent Russian transfer in, however I do not know if he would meet the vetting process deadline. 2 ) The next guy up gets in, or the next guy up who is already in Paris. Iran or India were next up, I think? I don't know if either would think to send a 57 KG guy 'just in case' so there is that. 3 ) Whatever deadline that needs to pass passed already and the 57 KG bracket will remain as-is with the guy who was drawn in to face Micic essentially getting a bye. I do suppose there is a 3B ) in that they move everyone up and either the new #1 gets a bye or the bye gets drawn-in.
  13. It was not a miracle or a decking. Rivera wrestled a whole match. Tevanyan let up and just let himself get repeatedly get punched in the mouth. Keep in mind Rivera's run was insane and he has victories and competitive matches against a slew of gents with high level senior results. The American gents seem to always steamroll him, though.
  14. Why are you trying to dunk on a child? What does it gain you?
  15. With all due respects, Malik Amine won more matches than Zain Retherford at the same tournament a few years back. Draw matters.
  16. Even if it is pre-dehydration, he isn't going to walk around at 145lbs while waiting to go ~125.7lbs. He would walk around in the 140-143 weight and would pull off ~10lbs his last day. His senior year he was closer to ~138lbs rather than 140-143lbs. Even if you do the match at 138lbs, to be the same approximate amount of weight cut, he is going to be ~130.4lbs to weigh in at 57 KG (~125.7lbs). He is probably the most strict he has ever been on weight management. This is the Olympics and it is quite likely he won't try for it in 2028, so this is his one go of it.
  17. The guy could possibly be the most dense guy in NCAA wrestling the last twenty years. It's like watching a brick try to float.
  18. Just understand that is Arizona time. All times for US - Eastern are three (3) hours different. Meaning 9:15 AM is 12:15 AM, 2:00 AM is 5:00 AM, etc.
  19. Here is a good one for all of wrestling... https://x.com/jesss152/status/1816119729595245029?t=b3oJtXDgJ_wawLh3_UzM1A&s=19
  20. I always was curious what would have happened had the 2xer Junior Sanderson had gone up to face fellow 2xer Senior McCoy at 197lbs a year earlier. It's a shame both went opposite ways for MFS.
  21. I know, I was just giving you a hard time.
  22. Because he didn't have victories. I would count the lone victory he got in their first ever match, though - personally. That is it, though. So 1W - 84L to Dake. Here is a sequence of events for you. Sharifov beat Sanderson Sharifov beat Snyder Taylor beat Sharifov Dake beat Daylor I don't think there is as direct a path to comparing Sanderson and Dake the other way (Sanderson > Dake).
  23. He went from getting dominated by Schultzy for a couple years to beating him at OTT this year, so I do think that he has evolved a bit.
  24. As unfortunate as I think it is, I do think that MGR might struggle quite a bit. MGR is a tertiary subject here in the states - at best. Overseas it is seen as an equal to MFS. That said, Coon won Silver a few years ago based off an absolutely insane draw. With any draw, all of our gents could win a couple. One thing to take in to consideration is that a few years ago Malik Amine advanced further than Zain Retherford at 65 KG. I mean that with all due respect, as there are only a handful of people who even know of this forum's existence that have made the trip to a Worlds, let alone wrestled in it (so eat shit haters). This said, it is the Olympics. There are no unbalanced brackets or randomly favorable draws. They seed the Top 8 people, which are people that have won and earned points by wrestling in extremely difficult tournaments within the last year. There might be more potential for landmines in a Worlds bracket of ~128 people, but there are far less valleys to have to trudge through in a 16 man bracket. Every match will be a slugfest for each of our gents. 77 KG - As dynamic as Bey is, the Eastern Bloc gents and the other elites are just far too disciplined to give a shit - bluntly put. 87 KG - Jacobson is young, man, and he is at the Olympics. He is our darkhorse to bring home a medal, even if he was the 'least' likely Olympian. If you look at our four qualifiers, Jacobson is the one that we go "Who is that?" to. 97 KG - Rau has had an absolute tear of a time since going up... against domestic competition. He 'lucked' out of not having our 26 year old former medalist in Hancock retire three years ago and his presumptive replacement Amos having been injured. I mean no disrespect when I say this, but Rau is not a 97 KG guy and would have to have the best tournament of his life to get to a medal match. I am hoping he does. 130 KG - Coon is a massive man. For 130 KG gents, he is about par for the course on size. So his length and size advantage that he uses on everyone except Schultzy here in the states is gonzo. I believe he has the best chance to medal, since he has a Worlds silver to his resume. I will obviously be rooting for every USA athlete in every sport. I cannot ***ducking** wait, gents!
