  1. Keep in mind that both Aiello and Macch are both coming back down from 97 KG. The effect can be beneficial or negative.
  2. I am not sure how they will seed gents who entered after 'pre' seeds were released. I do hope they do actually re-seed. If not, and you slide Haines in at 18, that would put him up against a large, multiple time NQ at 174lbs in Utah Valley's Romero then Burroughs. Romero was always as solid as they come, just had a lot of injury problems. If he is healthy and has been putting in the work, it could be a helluva welcome to 174lbs (79 KG). As far as Connor, we have already seen what he can do at 86 KG against most of this field. He did get the first takedown on Aaron Brooks, something that no other 197lber in the country was able to do throughout the entire NCAA season. OTT - David McFadden win via DEC 4 - 0 - Aaron Brooks loss via DEC 11 - 5 - Max Dean loss via TECH 12 - 2 US Open - Justin Rademacher won via DEC 5 - 0 Senior Nationals - Owen Webster won via DEC 7 - 1 - Max Dean won via DEC 9 - 6 - Mark Hall loss via DEC 9 - 2 - Evan Wick won via DEC 5 - 4 - Max Dean loss via DEC 8 - 4 Bill Farrell - Evan Wick won VIA Pinfellery - Alex Dieringer loss via DEC 9-3 - Mark Hall loss via DEC 4-1 I don't see him being able to beat a Hidlay or a Taylor, but there is no reason to believe that he won't be right there with the rest of them, if not beating them soundly. He is coming off a 'down' performance at U20s, but he has been at this weight and preparing for this weight for some time now.
  3. Added the Mirasola brothers and Haines to the tier list. I know one of the Mirasola brothers entered then pulled, but I left him on there. Below is where I might put them both (for seeds). For clarity, it was Cole (the larger brother) is the one that was entered last night, then this morning is not entered.
  4. What you said is true however, the weight is a variable, meaning that it is just a number reported. They put a number in and then it fills the number (weight class) automatically. If they weighed in, it will show what weight class they weighed at for it. The ones you look at that have the Red X and no weight means a weight wasn't reported. The downside to having weight entered in, if you fail, is that you are now on the clock for descent and your coaches will be held accountable if you lose weight too rapidly. Some schools will do the weight part of the certification after the hydration, skinfold, etc that way they can know if they can get to the weight class that they need/want prior to weighing in. They aren't supposed to do it that way, but a lot of folks do.
  5. The Red X means they failed something else (hydration probably), they made that weight, though. The weight listed is what they weighed at (so if he was 184, it means 174.1-184.0). We use trackwrestling for our alphas as well and that is how it has been explained to us. That is HS - vs NCAA, though. There could be a difference.
  6. Had surgery on his labrum (?) a month or so ago.
  7. He isn't currently enrolled.
  8. What's wild is that he has already made it below 184.0lbs.
  9. Not sure what is up with Horwath. He is enrolled currently, so there's that. I have a feeling we will see Walters and Jenkins both at HWT. Whoever performs better will get the nod in the Postseason. 125 - Wertanen 133 - Ragusin 141 - Lemley, outside shot of Jerore with a Lemley redshirt 149 - Gilcher 157 - Saldate 165 - Mantanona 174 - Walker, If Walker cannot remain healthy, I wouldn't be surprsied to see a slew of gents here, including the younger (smaller) Mantanona, Consuelos, Mattin and a slew of 174lbers that are on-roster now. 184 - Bullock 197 - Cardenas (might see Walters in semester 1) 285 - Jenkins/Walters/Nugent - this will be a wrestler by committee until one of them separates from the others. Expect them to go to Opens to determine who between Jenkins/Nugent in Semester 1, then if Walters ends up going up after Cardenas enters, some form of wrestle-off.
  10. Listen man, we are both wrestling fans. Nobody is wrong there and you are definitively more 'in the know' on ISU things. My stance was more on morality conflicts where both Frost brothers had dreams of wrestling together.
  11. I am surprised by no Facundo...
  12. Does Levi Haines get thrown in as #18 or does he get seeded? Where? My guess would be in the #7-9 range.
  13. Virginia Tech is chubby... Latona is at 157... There is a world where Latona is the same size as Caleb Fish.
  14. OSU looks to be 125 - Spratley 133 - Hughes, Whitcraft 141 - Jamison 149 - Young 157 - Fish, Teague 165 - Amine 174 - Hamiti 184 - Plott, Robb 197 - Merrill, Surber 285 - Pindrickson
  15. Ohio State is chubby, too.
  16. I think until proven otherwise the guys I posted first are it. Swiderski is going to be tough to keep off the mat. Rojas will push Gaitan and Riggins. I think Chittum and Swiderski keep their shirt in the end, though.
  17. NC State and Arizona State are both CHUBBY.
  18. Iowa State is already down to weight... 125 Terukina, Diversent, Grice 133 E. Frost 141 J. Frost, Redding 149 Echemendia, Swiderski 157 Johnson, Chittum 165 Gaitan (down from 174), Rojas 174 Riggins 184 Bockman 197 Carroll 285 Bastida
  19. Certifications are always perplexing. Some schools have their guys at the weight they want them at and others let them be fat and happy.
  20. If Gilman takes the mat, I think you either slot him in just behind Gross or just in front of Fix. He did just beat Fix, but it was at 57 KG. He lost to Gross at 61 KG, even if it was a bullshit of a RefJob - it was also 4 years ago. 1. Nahshon Garrett (LVWC/TMWC) 2. Thomas Gilman (Cowboy RTC) 3. Daton Fix (Cowboy RTC/TMWC) 4. 21. If David Taylor shows up... we get Hidlay - Downey (potentially). 92 kg Sit-out to Championship Series: Zahid Valencia (Atreus WC) Pre-Seeds 1. David Taylor (Cowboy RTC) 2. Trent Hidlay (Wolfpack WC/TMWC) 3. Jonathan Aiello (Pennsylvania RTC/TMWC) 4. Michael Macchiavello (LVWC/TMWC) 5. Eric Schultz (Nebraska WTC) 6. Aeoden Sinclair (Tiger Style WC) 7. 22. Of note, gents: Zane Mulder and Eze Chukwuezi could be sleepers for first round victories. Both have had a lot of success in the lower divisions.
