  1. Interesting. Give me your take, if you don't mind. I have at least 5 Hawkeyes making AA, with another 3 with a strong shot (Kennedy, Keuter, Arnold). With OSU I've got 4 "lock" AAs (Amine, Hamiti, Plott, Hendrickson) with 3 "maybes" (R12/low AA) Surber, Spratley, Jamison, and 2 other possible R16/low AA types (Young, Fish). I have zero faith in Witcraft and think he'll totally fade by the end. I don't think any of OSU's guys will make it to the finals, but even if they do I don't think they win any NCAA titles. I think Ayala wins the NCAA title this year at 133. I think Iowa will have finalists or 3rd placers at 149, 165, and 197 pounds. I think Iowa will finish well ahead of OSU at NCAAs, provided OSU doesn't overperform.
  2. Hawks feast on rodents!!! A dominant performance by the Hawkeyes. I picked the rodents to pull off the upset at home, giving them the "homemat advantage", which proved about as useful as a fart in the wind. The rodents were not wrestling inspired!! Joe Cruz will make R16, at least, at NCAAs, and I wouldn't be flummoxed if he managed to squeeze in at R12 or maybe even place. He's still pretty unpolished, but he has guts aplenty. He's improving consistently. Ayala dominated. Hawkeye scrub Schriever turned in a decent performance, managing to avoid giving up bonus points. Parco/Teemer turned in less than impressive wins, in my opinion, although Teemer at least faced a tough opponent. Caliendo overperformed, and I think he's clearly #2 at 165 at this point. Kennedy turned in a great performance. All of Iowa's transfers wrestled good enough to get the job done. McEnelly's win over Arnold didn't impress me much, to be honest. That match just showed me how much work McEnelly still has to do to get to the top of his weight class. I'd say he's a 4th place type guy at this point. Buchanon's win over Salazar was less than impressive. Steveson smoked Keuter like a Christmas ham. But overall a strong effort by the Hawkeyes.
  3. I think they'll finish 2nd with a gap between them and #3, who I expect to be Oklahoma State, but there are several teams within striking range of 3rd.
  4. Nothing is guaranteed at NCAAs, but I think there's going to be a fair gap between Iowa and the 3rd place team.
  5. Even if Ferrari would get Iowa more points at NCAAs, which is no guarantee, it would still fall far short of the beatdown PSU is going to give them at NCAAs. Why waste Ferrari's RS to finish slightly less far behind in 2nd place?
  6. Welcome to the NIL era.
  7. Pretty decent dual. I doubt we see McCrone catch Lilledahl in a cradle like that again. Davis needs to hit the weight room, and I can't believe PSU's backup 157 pounder was so soft.
  8. He was but not in wrestling, in tap dancing.
  9. Maybe he saw what was coming.
  10. Look at that heel! No wonder UW fans hate him so much!!
  11. Is going from Wisconsin to Michigan, same job position, really "lateral"?
  12. Is HULU free?
  13. Any of you guys know where I can see the latest dual between those teams?
  14. Kinda sorta. But I'm cool with it. NCAA should update it's RPI to reflect reality, until then I'm okay with "last chance" tournaments.
  15. I don't know about that. We've talking about West Virginia girls vs Oklahoma girls. There probably wasn't 20 teeth between both sets of cheerleaders.
  16. I have to admit that is one of the least masculine poses I've ever seen. Let's hope that doesn't become wrestling's version of the Heisman pose. Can you imagine that pose on the Hodge Trophy?
  17. I have the rodents pulling off an upset as well, and a large part of the reason why is the match is at Minnesota. I think Cruz has a fighting chance to upset Flynn. I picked Teemer, but I think Askey is 50/50 to win. I think Sparks, pumped up by the home crowd, will upset Caliendo. I think Whiting, pumped up by consumption of vast amounts of human blood and suffering, will upset Kennedy. As you stated, if Nelson wrestles that upsets the apple cart. I think Gable techs Keuter.
  18. Oh....winning matches. That I can accept, hehe. I think that also requires some clarification which I'll now provide: some college wrestlers aren't very good, and some are probably not even that great by HS standards, and I could see a very good 7th grader beating one of those guys.
  19. Would be interesting to see Nelson wrestle a match, see if he's lost anything. On the other hand I think Kennedy needs more work, he's still not quite there yet. Also I wonder if it's too late for Nelson not to get punished by his RPI in seeding at B1G and NCAAs if he's the guy at 174 now, like Joe Smith was punished that one year?
  20. Me either. NCAAs was at least as tough as Midlands. Nowadays Midlands is easy sauce.
  21. Wait a minute: Chance was winning college opens in 7th grade? That's ludicrous. Were they D3 backup opens or something? No offense to Chance or his fans here in the forum, but he wasn't great in college (he was very good though), it seems insane that he was winning college opens in 7th grade.
  22. Yes.
  23. Rodents prove to be terrible hosts!!! 125 Cooper dec Cruz 3-0 133 Ayala dec Wells 3-3 141 Vombauer md Block 7-3 149 Parco md Roberts 7-7 157 Teemer dec Askey 7-10 165 Sparks dec Caliendo 10-10 174 Whiting dec Kennedy 13-10 184 McEnelly dec Arnold 16-10 197 Buchanon dec Salazar 16-13 HWT Steveson tfall Keuter 21-13
  24. So that means Lock Haven is like myself: well endowed!
