  1. Steveson not being ranked at HWT shows these rankings aren't super accurate.
  2. Maybe his style just works well against Davis. Maybe it's a combination of both style and improving. He sure looked good vs Davis though and it didn't look like a fluke either.
  3. You are correct, sir. Mendez is better.
  4. At least you weren't dumb enough to grab a flamethrower and try to melt the snow under your vehicle!
  5. He's fibbing. It was actually -11 low, and 11 high https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/windber/15963/january-weather/340533
  6. That'd never fly. The conference tournaments in themselves are more popular than national duals. I guarantee if you asked 100 hardcore college wrestling fans if they want to get rid of the B1G conference tournament to institute a "national dual meet" that 95% of them would laugh in your face. How about having national duals early in the season? Invite the top 8 or 16 teams per the dual rankings and have at it PRIOR to CKLV. If PSU doesn't want to participate, fine, scratch them and invite #17, and so on.
  7. My thoughts are this: I don't like it. I'm old school and weight dropping should consist ENTIRELY of 1) working out with regular sweats and plastic sweats at the same time, 2) running for hours in aforementioned plastic sweats until you smell like a moldy jock strap, 3) eating an entire bar of Ex-Lax and "browning" your brains out for a day before the match, 4) induced puking. Paddling the soles of one's feet to induce sweating is optional.
  8. I don't see what the problem is with national duals and PSU not participating. If they did participate they'd win easily, so it seems like a great opportunity for another team win a national title, albeit in duals.
  9. I'd make them do more than shovel the driveway I wonder if Morningstar's teammates jokingly ever referred to him as Lucifer, or Satan, or anything like that? Would be particularly funny if he was a really religious dude.
  10. Didn't he win a medal for Puerto Rico in the Olympics or Worlds?
  11. It scrubbed out my colon like 220 grit sandpaper.
  12. They are pretty nasty. I tried one a couple months back.
  13. I'd pull you apart like a cinnamon roll, son.
  14. I can't imagine anybody being intimidated by Luke Surber.
  15. I wouldn't, but I've always held Randy in high regard.
  16. That's pretty big for a linebacker. Here's something google found. The average NFL linebacker is 6'2" and weighs around 220–245 lbs. However, the average weight of an NFL player can vary by year
  17. That's not a bad weight for a HWT. If a guy has the chops he can make the fat boys look pretty dumb when being outweighed by a lot. 235 is big enough to have some power, but small enough to have a speed edge on most heavies. Cassar was never even 235, was he? Nor Snyder?
  18. True, but they are beating them in FS. not folk matches, right?
  19. That's not what I heard.
  20. I watched the OU/WVU dual last weekend. Man, is OU rotten. I'll be stunned if they have anybody finish as high as R12. Anyway I don't know who the commentators were but one was apparently a former OU coach. He sounded like he had a hard time keeping his dentures in his mouth while commenting. Anyway he said "I'll get a lot of hate mail for saying this", and proceeded to say there are HS kids wrestling today who'd have beaten Gable during Gable's prime. He's right, of course. The other commentor mentioned that with the tools HS kids have today that Gable would've been a lot better than he actually was, which also is probably right. The OU coach mentioned another old time wrestler that the HS kids today would've beaten but I can't remember who the other wrestler he mentioned was. Who were the commentators in that match, and do you agree with what the former OU coach said? I thought the chatter was really dumb during the dual, but at least it wasn't a couple students unfamiliar with wrestling who called the dual.
  21. As opposed to going somewhere with a good program and riding the bench?
  22. Buddy, we had RT in Elementary School. A friend of mine won elementary state at HWT on a RT point. He quit wrestling after 6th grade and never wrestled another match. Damn shame, he'd have definitely won state in HS.
  23. That's actually shocking to me, because I thought everybody had RT back in the 70s/80s. Did you guys just go SV after all tie matches? I don't follow HS wrestling much anymore, except for "Who is #1" type competitions, so I can't tell you who has RT now in HS.
  24. The university president of Liberty is literally a cuck whose wife was banging the poolboy for years. That's why the word "cuck", which was all the rage in the rightwing blogs for years, suddenly dropped from their vernacular.
  25. Just once I'd like to see a guy win an NCAA title and proclaim "Hail Satan". Not that I'm a Satanist or anything, but it would be a nice change of pace and can you imagine the very real outrage from the very faux "christians"?
