  1. I'd pull you apart like a cinnamon roll, son.
  2. I can't imagine anybody being intimidated by Luke Surber.
  3. I wouldn't, but I've always held Randy in high regard.
  4. That's pretty big for a linebacker. Here's something google found. The average NFL linebacker is 6'2" and weighs around 220–245 lbs. However, the average weight of an NFL player can vary by year
  5. That's not a bad weight for a HWT. If a guy has the chops he can make the fat boys look pretty dumb when being outweighed by a lot. 235 is big enough to have some power, but small enough to have a speed edge on most heavies. Cassar was never even 235, was he? Nor Snyder?
  6. True, but they are beating them in FS. not folk matches, right?
  7. That's not what I heard.
  8. I watched the OU/WVU dual last weekend. Man, is OU rotten. I'll be stunned if they have anybody finish as high as R12. Anyway I don't know who the commentators were but one was apparently a former OU coach. He sounded like he had a hard time keeping his dentures in his mouth while commenting. Anyway he said "I'll get a lot of hate mail for saying this", and proceeded to say there are HS kids wrestling today who'd have beaten Gable during Gable's prime. He's right, of course. The other commentor mentioned that with the tools HS kids have today that Gable would've been a lot better than he actually was, which also is probably right. The OU coach mentioned another old time wrestler that the HS kids today would've beaten but I can't remember who the other wrestler he mentioned was. Who were the commentators in that match, and do you agree with what the former OU coach said? I thought the chatter was really dumb during the dual, but at least it wasn't a couple students unfamiliar with wrestling who called the dual.
  9. As opposed to going somewhere with a good program and riding the bench?
  10. Buddy, we had RT in Elementary School. A friend of mine won elementary state at HWT on a RT point. He quit wrestling after 6th grade and never wrestled another match. Damn shame, he'd have definitely won state in HS.
  11. That's actually shocking to me, because I thought everybody had RT back in the 70s/80s. Did you guys just go SV after all tie matches? I don't follow HS wrestling much anymore, except for "Who is #1" type competitions, so I can't tell you who has RT now in HS.
  12. The university president of Liberty is literally a cuck whose wife was banging the poolboy for years. That's why the word "cuck", which was all the rage in the rightwing blogs for years, suddenly dropped from their vernacular.
  13. Just once I'd like to see a guy win an NCAA title and proclaim "Hail Satan". Not that I'm a Satanist or anything, but it would be a nice change of pace and can you imagine the very real outrage from the very faux "christians"?
  14. It astonishes me that full grown men believe invisible gods are pulling strings to help them win wrestling matches. Honestly, in a logical world people like that would be locked up in nuthouses and treated for mental disorders.
  15. The oldest scam in the history of the world without a doubt.
  16. If I was Carroll I'd find a minor D1 conference that has weaklings at HWT and I'd transfer to one of that conference's schools and quietly qualify for NCAAs.
  17. What I meant was most GOOD B1G wrestlers freeze up when the words are over 4 letters long!
  18. You didn't?
  19. I don't see either of those as tossups. Sammy Sasso isn't a legit 157 pounder and certainly never even looked passably good at 165, and I'd be shocked if Kharchla beats Kennedy. Kharchla exists, as a wrestler, to disappoint people. That's probably a dickish take on it, but I doubt he AAs again. I don't know if there's enough time left in the season for Sasso to settle in at 157 and be a real contender in March.
  20. You had up to 2 pts RT in HS? It was only 1 point when I was in HS. I was a monster on top, I'd have gotten 2 pts nearly every match from RT
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if he finished R12 again, to be honest.
  22. If you think their six shooters in the air celebration is fruity, you don't want to see their track suits.
  23. Kerkvliet has to be annoyed. Unbeaten NCAA champ last year, unbeaten this year with all wins coming by fall or techfall, and still ranked under Steveson who skipped 2 complete years.
  24. Carroll couldn't even beat Doucet, let alone Hendricksen. I wonder why he picked OSU in the first place.
  25. Not to mention that moving up in weight increases the potential of a guy getting injured as well. It happened to me one time, I moved up and wrestled a kid at 178. I was kicking the crap out of him, 12-5 with riding time locked and only 15 seconds in the match. Rolled out of bounds with him, bam, dislocated elbow and out the rest of the year Too bad, I'd have definitely made state.
