  1. Thankfully, we had officials from the Big 12 and the NCAA to oversee the rules, investigate the facts, and make an impartial adjudication.
  2. I'm not taking issue with the rule
  3. I forgot about the kid who died from noncompliant underwear. Scary stuff.
  4. We've seen some pretty absurd reaction time calls this year so who knows lol
  5. https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/49101/poullas-georgio/profile
  6. Cruz is giving up quite a bit of weight here and his opponent is a former D1 wrestler, but still pretty entertaining.
  7. He's my official pick in my paid-in bracket, but I voted for my team's guy in the poll lol
  8. Same because it's 1. a new matchup and 2. both guys try to score points. If we get Plott-McEnelly for 3rd place, it will be great for the same reasons
  9. 19 votes and none are for Hardy is crazy, but so is this weight's depth
  10. Minnow is never wrong and he's certainly never biased what are you saying
  11. I was responding to people on here, not to complaints by actual stakeholders with actual knowledge. The closest we've gotten to a stakeholder making a public complaint is Dresser's accusation of "hooey". We can go on for days with "ifs", but we don't have many facts. What we do know is that Big 12 officials fully investigated the allegations and were equiped with the facts of the matter. They conferred with the NCAA and then made an impartial ruling.
  12. Team scores? I like the variety in the picks. I can't see Little placing that high and I think you're overly hopeful for a general PSU underperformance (me too). Other than, the picks look good
  13. Carter had higher coaches rank; Parker had higher RPI
  14. Dresser was not there. Who knows if the "5 coaches" were there in the room or not. Harrison's tweets were in the morning of day one. His more recent statement was on the broadcast the second day of the tournament and he said that coaches were giving him their opinions. You know who was there? Big 12 officials. They additionally reviewed security footage. They also conferred with the NCAA to make a ruling. We don't have many facts from this, but we do know that the proper officials had all the facts and they made an impartial ruling.
  15. Pyles: "We might've done a bad thing. We didn't mean to do a bad thing, but we might've done a bad thing."
  16. They weighted in on time. Not extra time. Their opponents had the exact same time to recover. Not extra time. If anything it was a disadvantage, because their second-round opponent had more time to recover from their first round match.
  17. Do you have an opinion on the NCAA not giving the bid to the Pac 12 kid who will retroactively be the Pac 12 champ at 174?
  18. He weighed in on time and made weight.
  19. According to the Big 12 it was a "miscommunication over timing". There was no official disqualification. Everything Dresser is saying is hearsay. He wasn't there and doesn't cite where his information is coming from. Rock Harrison in the broadcast even says that when he arrived, he had a lot of coaches in his ear giving their opinions and what should/shouldn't happen. Some pissed off coaches complaining isn't the end-all. The Big 12 investigated the situation, conferred with the NCAA and then made a decision.
  20. Basch didn't "report" anything. He's not a journalist. Neither are the FRL guys. Neither is Mineo. Basch repeated what he saw from the Air Force Twitter account, which was inaccurate . He says this clearly on his show.
  21. You can accuse the conference of lying if you want, but there is no evidence to support that. No one has said the conference declared them disqualified and then changed their minds. The most outspoken person on this issue, Kevin Dresser, explicitly said the Big 12 had NOT told them anything. Until I hear or see better evidence, I will believe the people at ESPN who asked the Big 12 directly for answers, then reported it to their audience and cited their source.
  22. My first thought was that the NCAA should have caught this way sooner. If they had, LR would have sent a different wrestler to conferences and had a chance to qualify and send a 174 to NCAAs. But the other side is that it was incumbent on LR to clear it with the NCAA, so it's their fault as well. Regardless, it's a crappy situation
  23. If they do that, they better let Little Rock send an alternate.
  24. Do you take the same stance when a cop gives you a ticket for failure to use your turn signal on a right-hand turn at a four-way stop? Not all rules are equally as important. There's also the spirit and intent of the law vs a legalistic reading of the law. The "rules is rules" crowd are a bunch of smooth-brained babies
  25. That isn't a fact. The Big 12 actually spoke to that part of it to the ESPN broadcast team. They said the athletes in question were never disqualified. They delayed their matches while they investigated it and made an official ruling.
