You don't think a 1 loss Whalen or Lamer jumps a 3 loss Lovett? I'm far too lazy to actually try to guess based on criteria and just go with what has seemed to be the trend in the past. That being said, I do think the seeds would work themselves out so that the B1G gents are separated into each of the four quadrants.

IIRC Sealey was on fire his sophomore year and looked like he was going to be the top recruit of a really good group, but he did not continue that trajectory and as you mentioned, took some losses that you wouldn't have expected a couple years prior.

I absolutely hate the general way that bottom stalling is called. Any ref should know the difference between actually stalling (balling up) on bottom and not being able to build up. The talk going into the season was to emphasize attempting to turn on top by calling stalling on the top wrestler, but here we are giving stall points for riding without being able to turn. Mesenbrink was active on top but never really remotely close to executing a turn and Scoles was hit three times in one period for stalling.

Excellent point. pK parents should write a formal letter to the AD and request justice for this. There is no chance that Tom and Terry wanted the senior to get one last home match after being injured most of the year..

Oh, he was gassed. I don't really have a problem with the call. Teemer and Paniro wrestle basically the same style and should be more heavily punished for consistently ceding ground and stepping back on their own volition. The whole "they want to wrestle from space" isn't an excuse. Plenty of guys like to wrestle from space but don't wrestle like them.

Paniro Johnson gives up 4 stalling points in the third to send the match to OT against Realbuto.. gets taken down for the loss. The 2 point stall call was pretty questionable, he was defending back to back shots and got hit with 3 seconds left..

Davis looked awful in that match. He got horsed around by Byrd.

There is no way that this should have been able to continue. Orine could have easily suffered torn muscle/ligaments. I don't think it's malicious but every time I was Tyler Knox wrestle it seems like there is a position where he is close to injuring someone. When he wrecked Cory Land's knee at CKLV it was easy to see it coming from a mile away. I remember watching the match and being frustrated along with Schwab that the ref didn't stop the action sooner. Edit: I don't understand why he called PD at the end of the video when the position was essentially the same for 30 seconds.

If people expect every age level world champ to go on and dominate the way that Spencer Lee did in college.. those are very unfair expectations.

I'm not disagreeing that Alirez gets the #1 seed.. I'm just saying it seems like a crime to reward someone who doesn't have a top 10 win for wrestling a limited and weak schedule. He should have to go through both. Mendez and Bartlett shouldn't have to wrestle-off in the semis to see who gets the chance to wrestle Alirez who hasn't tested himself all season.

Who was comparing Lilledahl to Spencer? Lilledahl is an exceptional talent, but I would put him much more in the strata of Megaludis than Spencer Lee. Both were unbelievable college wrestlers, but Spencer was on a different tier of expectations coming out of high school than Mega.

I agree that those should be the rankings, but based on schedule, I would hope that whoever wins B1Gs gets the #1 seed, Alirez the 2, and B1G runner-up 3. Alirez' best win on the season is Josh Edmond. Both Bartlett and Mendez have had significantly better bodies of work this season. Alirez and AJ Ferrari have basically wrestled the same schedule this year. If Barr beats Buchanon at B1Gs, I feel like most would object to AJ getting promoted to the #1. I don't see why Alirez should be viewed any differently outside of subjectivity.

I mean Jimmy said he was still going to AA. Are you predicting he will be better than 5th at NCAAs?

AJ hasn't wrestled since January 26th, but hasn't been absent from the weight room. Does he actually show up and wrestle against Little Rock?

I hear you, but we're talking about a college landscape where Stanford is in the ACC. These aren't your father's conferences. Competition-wise Northern Colorado, Wyoming, AF, etc. probably do fit better among the Pac-whatever teams than with the bigger programs in the B12. But it doesn't make any sense currently to hold onto the relic that was the Pac12. All of the major sports programs are gone, and it would probably be better for the Pac schools to just do the same and get absorbed by the B12 if possible. I'd imagine it would only help ASU and Oregon with recruiting to be in a more legitimate conference.

Half-joking, half-serious, how many times are you allowed to helicopter your opponent before it becomes unsportsmanlike conduct and/or stalling?

You don't think Cael and staff would help tailor his training in a more productive manner? There are other guys on the roster that he could go with where I'd assume he'd find reasonable success, and at least have enough self-belief that he has the ability to score on a relatively unproven Brandon Cannon. Cael has also spoken highly of Sealey's progress multiple times when asked throughout the season.. I think if anything Cael would have responded with something along the lines of "you know, he's tough and talented, but we have a lot of really accomplished guys in the room and he's adjusting to a new level of wrestling." We're talking about the best coaching staff in the country.. I don't think they're letting Sealey be fodder at the cost of his development.

Being unseeded is like life circumstances. Some are born into a 17 seed, some are born a 33. You must overcome your circumstances and all odds to fulfill the All-American dream!

To be fair, I said I was asking genuinely because I couldn't recall him turning during matches I have watched. But I knew someone was going to bring it up. Touché
