  1. This is my prediction for big tens and nationals but not to start the season 125 - Bouzakis 133 - Davino 141 - Mendez. 149 - Stiles. 157 - Cannon 165 - Birden 174 - Kharch 184 - Shumate 197 - Geog 285 - Feldman. i think this lineup takes second.
  2. I watched some documentary on Bo Nickel training for RAF and swear I saw Carter on the bench with his headgear on. It looks like he is quietly wrestling in the room.
  3. 125 Lauridsen v Koehler, McCrone v Kilkeary, Van Dee vs Ayoub 133 Davino v Bouzakis, Davis v Nagao v Ono v Blaze 141 149 Young v Jamison v Swiderski, Echemendia v Johnson v Frost, Buesgens v Zepeda 157 Cannon v Gallagher, Travis v Robideau, Kasak v Duke, Catrabone v Gilcher 165 Gallagher v Birden 174 184 Ryder v Thompson, Ferrari v Arnold 197 Geog v Shumate, Barr v Mirasola 285
  4. 125: LL - 2-4 133: MB - Champ 141: Nagao/Davis - R12 149: SVN - AA 157: Duke - Finalist - Taylor gassed in their match and will win a rematch 165: MM - Champ 174: LH - Champ 184: Rocco - 4th 197: Barr - Champ 285: Mirasola - 4th A hammer of a team no doubt, but not the best ever. I have low confidence on 174 and 133 being champs but I don't have an alternative, just a gut feeling that an upset occurs at one of the weights.
  5. It might be Birden and Cannon over Paddy. 3 quality guys for just 2 spots.
  6. 100% Ohio State bias but I’ll go with Cannon at 157 and Birden at 165.
  7. And at 180, a full-size 165!
  8. are you sure on 157/165 - I thought they would flip?
  9. Surprised not to see Gilcher at 157 - any updates on him?
  10. anyone know how to see when and what mat the wrestlers are on?
  11. Jax is really good and that is good news for the future of American wrestling. Also, Vito is not himself and so it is hard to know just how good Jax is.
  12. I want Vito, but I think Jax in 2. I also don’t dislike Jax and think he is the future. What is more likely, Vito double or Jax slideby?
  13. Looks like this will be on Flo. Does anyone know if there are any issues to watch this stateside? I want to watch it live but am worried about vpn issues?
  14. I guess you could add a slip in there? 1, "don't get bonused", 2
  15. I read up on life after a transplant. Not an easy road going forward. Like any transplant, rejection issues and what not. Ben will show the medical world what can be done and exceed expectations. I think this leads him to be a college coach and get nice health insurance and benefits.
  16. I think they end up even stronger from this. Solution: These issues are due to a lack of staffing of the NLWC. Snyder and Brooks are good people who didn't have the resources they needed. Starocci was going to be an NLWC athlete but has been dismissed. We got rid of the problem and need to hire more staff to better police the area. Gilman is hired as PSU staff member.
  17. Is Kasak out? He hasn't competed since nationals and is typically a freestyle guy. I think PJ wrestles and Kasak takes a medical.
  18. Good point, so next chance for the someone in the field to win NCAAs is 2028!
  19. Who starts 157 for penn state next year? I haven't seen anything from Kasak since nationals. Is that code for Kasak had surgery and is in recovery? Usually he competes in the freestyle season.
  20. If it wasn’t BB, he would have refuted the post publicly immediately.
  21. 133 - I think Davino is better than Davis but not better than Blaze. I suspect Blaze wrestles 5 matches and gets his shirt pulled after Christmas as is #1. If not, then Davino > Davis. 141 - Bailey had both hands wrapped up like he was a boxer. Hopefully whatever was going on is cured and he gets his pop back up a weight class. I think Vombaur struggles with the weight and I put Bailey at 3. 149 - Stiles is on an upward trajectory while Van Ness and Lachlan I think have too many miles on them for folkstyle. I think Stiles gets tougher going against 2x NCAA champ on a daily basis and is B1G champ! 157 - I think Millard is the real deal and would put him at 3rd behind Kasak and Taylor. After seeing Cannon at U23, he looked like a full-size 165 already. I think Paddy is forced to drop back to 157 and places where Cannon is projected. 165 - I'd put Cannon at 3rd 174 - Mantanona is a hammer on top, I think he takes 3rd 184 - As others have mentioned, Rocco should be higher. I think he is #1. Fishback might have some upside returning to Ohio, I put him at 3rd. 197 - Geog likely starts and should be behind McDanal 285 - I'm going to take some heat on this one but something feels off with Feldman, maybe 6th? Mirasola will quietly improve throughout the season and finish 3rd at B1G.
  22. I don’t know about under the radar but Charlie Millard from Minnesota 157 had wins over Siebrecht, Chittum and a close loss to Chumbley. I am also curious about Jackson Arrington at NC State. He had a good season but limited competition.
  23. I just wish the headline would have read "Nittany Lion wrestler... instead of former Ohio State" He hasn't improved one bit and did tOSU dirty by leaving, take the beating under the NLWC banner. All seriousness, this is bad all around and as a Christian, I was never a fan of his constant Jesus rhetoric when reporters would just ask about basic wrestling. Looking back now, it almost seems like he was covering for himself in his comments. Mother's day will never be the same for his wife and I just wish the best for everyone involved. Gotta really hurt and be hard to sleep. All that being said, he is an Olympic champion and the amount of work and dedication to do that is something I know not! I wouldn't be surprised if he takes his moral beating, recovers and turns this into a positive. If Aaron Brooks is clean, I could see him having some issues with Kyle being at NLWC.
  24. truth He also has stated multiple times, he is family oriented and the college coaching demands do not match his preferred lifestyle. I think the same could have been said to an extent about DT, so if the check is big enough, his lifestyle preferences might adjust.
  25. Portal closes May 2 I believe - getting down to the wire. Surprised that he didn't hit the portal given Ono, but maybe this is the greatest testament to Cael. Davis is an AA, coach brings in a world champ, Davis get busted for drinking and could probably use a fresh start. Nope, coach has your back behind the scenes and Davis decides that even with money and the high probability of starting, he chooses to stay. If that is how it plays out - I think this really becomes a feel good life changing story for Davis and Cael.
