I'm not sure if Mendez goes up to 149 either. I thought he looked significantly smaller than vombour. Davino or Bouzakis has to go down to 125. One of them has to be able to do it for year. Suriano did it and won. It can be done. Bouzakis has too much talent to let him walk.

Brands did previously say he puts his best team on the mat every year and tries to win every year. After watching Ferrari wrestle starocci I don't think it's impossible for Ferrari to beat him if they wrestle again. I wouldn't pick Ferrari to win but I do think it's possible. What better way to become a legend in the sport than to deny a 5 timer? Angelo is probably itching to go this year. Parco, teemer and Buchanan are all done after this year. Iowas chance at beating Penn State doesn't get any better next year. Brands should let Ferrari wrestle, he could always redshirt later.

Isn't Hendrickson, hamiti, amine, and fish all transfers? Isn't Messinbrink, kerk, nagao, truax and Dean all transfers? Seems like all the big schools are poaching talent except Ohio State. Not sure why Iowa is being so heavily criticized for poaching when Penn State and Oklahoma state are doing the same.

I wouldn't be shocked if AJ won but Buchanan looks real good. He has jumped levels under the touteledge of Tom and Terry Brands. I do kind of hope to see AJ back in black and gold next year. Back to back Ferraris in the lineup equals a lot of points at ncaas.

No I haven't seen the match yet, just saw the result. And I heard he violated the alcohol policy. I feel coaches should help kids showing signs of substance abuse rather than kick them off the team. I can't help but think if Chance would have been helped sooner he could have avoided alot of trouble. Jordan Williams can wrestle and I like seeing him succeed at little rock.

I just can't see the Brands sitting their nephew/son during his final season unless Kennedy is beating the doors of of Nelson(Which I doubt). If the Brands sit Nelson that is going to cause some heated conversations at Christmas dinner for the next 30 years.

I saw Nelson had a lot of tape on that knee but he still seemed to be drilling pretty good. Do you think Nelson comes back next year?

Tough couple losses for poor Kennedy. With the terrible decision the brands have to make on who to start between Nelson (former AA, senior and coach's son) and Kennedy (always wrestles his ass off and has done everything Iowa has asked of him), do these recent losses cost Kennedy his starting spot and give the nod back to Nelson Brands?

Buchanan looked good. Got a huge bonus point win there. I think he has cemented himself as the clear favorite at 197.

Exactly this. Haines and O'Toole both went up in weight classes to avoid Messinbrink. They are both familiar with MM and wanted no part of him.

It's ok, Ramos didn't get a tech either. So Ramos and Messinbrink still share the lead for tech falls.

Yeah, I like gabe but maybe he is the one who is overrated. He lost to allred and almost lost to rogotzke. Unfortunately he has no shot at beating starocci.

Definitely feels like a moral victory for Feldman. He showed some great acrobatic skills getting out of some of those takedowns. It was hilarious the crowd got loud when he took a shot on gable. Mendez looked bad. It felt like he was hanging on for dear life the entire match. Never saw a Mendez match like that before. Hopefully just an off night.
