  1. The main argument will be from guys in the Ivy League who could not wrestle in 2021 and did not get an extra year. Also Minnow did bring up that Josh Humphreys was injured in 2021 but got denied a medical RS for an extra year. That could be a damaging precedent for Brennan’s case
  2. Looks like this one got deleted…
  3. Was it truly free or did you have to have cable? A lot of people don’t have cable anymore
  4. Agree, I feel like people think it’s cool to hate on Pat’s, but they did literally invent the thing. I much prefer them to Jim’s (seems like @Voice of the Quakers agrees) for example, yet Jim’s takes forever and Pat’s dishes them out like every 5 seconds. That said, Angelo’s might be both my favorite pizza and cheesesteak ever. Portnoy does know what he’s talking about
  5. Yea that was the point. @ionel suggested that wrestlestat having Keckeisen over Starocci was correct
  6. Not according to the OSU roster
  7. Spratley is from NY?
  8. Wrestlestat had Gable Steveson ranked #5 when he first came back this season but @ionel thinks they have it “right”…
  9. And they don’t factor in the weight the matches are wrestled, so WS doesn’t help your point….
  10. Ranking a guy ahead of someone that just majored him doesn’t feel very normal to me
  11. I know you’re trolling, but WS is ratings not rankings. And they don’t even put any more weight (pun intended) on what weight the matches are wrestled, so thanks for proving yourself wrong? (I’m sure the reason Starocci is lower on WS is due to his injury default losses last year)
  12. You think Keckeisen should have been ranked higher than Starocci to start the season?
  13. They’ve done it on the Octobox for NCAA’s
  14. Minnow is really worked up about this. He must know the Rider guy or something. His first post is technically incorrect, as they did not need to be “freshmen” in 2021, they just had to be on the roster in 2021 and not used up 4 years of eligibility between 2022 and 2025
  15. Now you’re just making things up. I’m sure it’s a factor in general like in situations where the resumes are close, but most people are going to rank a 4x champ bumping up higher than a 1x champ from the same weight
  16. He won the conference so it was an auto qualification
  17. He wrestled the day before they wrestled UNI, winning by fall. He also wrestled 6 days after they wrestled UNI, also winning by fall.
  18. Willie is fired up on Twitter about it.
  19. Maybe but that’s a different conversation. That’s where the subjective aspect of rankings comes in
  20. Why shouldn’t ranking also have a conference championship bias? It’s the second most important tournament of the year. But you kinda seem to be disregarding tournaments in general. If the resumes were exactly the same and we’re just talking about CKLV and not the conference, the guy that won the tournament would have a good argument to be ranked higher than the guy that got 3rd, even if they didn’t wrestle.
  21. I’m not a big college football fan, but I found the main example I was probably thinking of (there may be others). But it technically didn’t involve the conference championship. 2017-2018. 9-2 Auburn, ranked #6 at the time, beats 11-0 and #1 Alabama in the Iron Bowl. Auburn jumps up to #2 in the CFP rankings, and Alabama dropped to #5. (So pretty comparable to Lilledahl/Ramos). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017–18_College_Football_Playoff
  22. I like the commentary because sometimes I will have wrestling on while doing something else and not paying 100% attention to the action. Guys like Rock who get excited when something is interesting is happening is helpful to me so I can know when I should pay closer attention. For the same reason I’m not a fan of when they just show the matches with no commentating. But yes it’s obviously better than not being able to see it at all.
