  1. Seems like it was Cael’s plan all along. Sounds like it wasn’t Starocci’s though
  2. Ramos pins DeAugustino in SV
  3. And are they allowing challenges after a call is changed via review?
  4. Because that’s the same thing as getting injured with 10 seconds left in the match…
  5. I did say nearly. Turns 26 in June
  6. Minnow stirring the pot here of course, but it is interesting if Starocci had family there expecting to see him wrestle
  7. 125 gonna 125. Both lower seeds win with Colton Camacho over Moore in TB and Agin over Montaperto in SV. Montaperto had teched him 18-0 in the first period in the dual
  8. I love how pissed Smith is here at Williams lol
  9. To be fair Smith did “smoke” Davis when they wrestled. But clearly he was trolling about Van Dee and to a slightly lesser extent, Hardy
  10. Waiting for the other guy to do something isn’t attempting to secure a takedown
  11. Chances of what? Getting a better seed? If someone from the B10 or B12 wins NCAA’s, I kinda doubt it will be the guy that won the conference tournament
  12. Actually it does. From the rulebook: “Each wrestler shall attempt to work toward the center of the mat and continue wrestling in an attempt to secure a takedown”
  13. I’ll admit I was trolling @BigRedFan a bit by asking if Cornell cares about their athletes (but the Shapiro situation really wasn’t a good look - I know a nearly 26 year old world champion is a little different). But I do feel strongly he should have defaulted if they thought it was serious.
  14. I stand by what I said. If they thought the injury was serious they should have defaulted. Although Vito is almost 26 years old so they may have deferred to him. Cornell athletic trainer not having a great year.
  15. Well if it was serious they probably should have defaulted. Slim chance of winning when down 4 with 10 seconds left, not to mention the conference tournament doesn’t really matter anyway. Another example of Cornell/Grey not caring about the health of their athletes like having Shapiro wrestle with a likely concussion?
  16. Crookham gets the TD around 10:10 then injury happens shortly after. Kinda reminiscent of Starocci IMO, Crookham wasn’t even moving and Vito kinda did it to himself. Vito seemed to be moving well on the restart though, I’m thinking it may not be serious.
  17. Thanks. Courtesy of an old thread, here was the official wording https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/championships/sports/wrestling/d1/men/Apr2022D1MWR_AnnualReport.pdf
  18. I’m sure Tom Brands was working on his power point presentation last night about why Starocci shouldn’t get an at large
  19. Actually doesn’t the rule now say there needs to be “actual wrestling” before injury defaulting? I don’t see that being enforced however, although I saw that a few injury defaults were 2 seconds instead of 1.
  20. A+ trolling from @jajensen09
  21. I think the argument is that in this scenario, you’d still have to win OTT’s after doing all that
  22. Was Maida injured? Seems weird that he’d MFF to Joyce of Brown, who qualifies with a 4-5 record
  23. Garrett Ricks of Wyoming punched Koelzer of Oklahoma in the face and got a flagrant (I believe it happened during the Williams injury break on the quad box). Not good. Kish was pretty heated shortly before I assume wanting the DQ at that time after some other extracurriculars.
  24. After losing to Hill in the first round Hutmacher beats Tabor and Nevills in wrestlebacks. Maybe getting the rust off?
