Griffith said in an article that he is still finishing his Master's and is still taking visits so I don't think that he would announce yet.
On a separate note, was cool to see HIlger win the Medal of Honor award. Good for him.
I didn't see the weigh in for the NCAA, but earlier in the season this was discussed and a few people shared screen shots of his weigh ins in the upper 180's. I am guessing he thought he had a better shot at a title at 197 rather than to go down to 184... because he certainly could have made it easily.
Here is what you said: "Meanwhile Penn State could've wanted him to wrestle 184, but offered that if he wanted to wrestle 197 they'd support that too" You are saying that Penn State was giving him a choice to wrestle 84 or 97 and they would support either choice. I am pretty confident that conversations with their 3x National Champ took place first before they took place with 3x 4th place AA. Despite your narrative where you seemed to know what happened in the negotiations, I am pretty certain Brooks played a very substantial role in this whole scenario.
Good question... He is finishing his Master's, so academics may not be in play. It seems he just wants to do the fake classes and wrestle one more year. He said he is open to other schools as well. Wrestling close to home does make a lot of sense.
So Truax calls the shots on what weight he is going at PSU? I'm going out on a limb here and saying there is no way the new kid comes in and dictates what weight Brooks is going. Something tells me it was the other way around.
Report out on Griffith considering Rutgers.

Actually I didn't ask you and I am pretty sure nobody did.... It was a statement of your own accord, choosing Brands and the Ferrari's over Cael, Starocci and Brooks. But hey, maybe now you can live a little bit more in reality.
No idea - With the exception of Buchanan moving to another program and probably getting some $$$$, I am not sure what is happening with all the other guys.
Yep... it's a sad reality.
With Wyoming, I don't think it's the same issue. Most of the guys they are losing (Buchanan as an exception) I don't see getting offered big money. I am not sure what is going on there. As a fan of wrestling on the West, I hope they can turn it around.
Is Wright coming back? I am not really seeing "a lot of talent" from 141-157 with Zollman heading out. Who do you consider to be a lot of talent in those weights?
