  1. SnyderMan looked good, but I was surprised by the Iranian heavyweight, he put the lumber to Mason. It shows the depth Iran has at this weight.
  2. Yeah, I’m not sure what the deal is, but maybe the lack of local wrestlers competing might have something to do with it. But who knows what caused the virtual ghost town in the stands.
  3. So I just watched the Spencer RBY match on YouTube, and watching it on the big TV, I thought that RBY looked a lil sucked down for the weight. And if there was a 2Kg allowance for this tournament, I wonder if RBY would be better off at 61.
  4. Well I am glad that Spencer won, but yeah he might be a little rusty since I don’t think he will really challenged last time out, and I think that this competition was tougher. As far as RBY is concerned, I think he has improved since Paris.
  5. I noticed that too, but I am happy that Spencer and our other team members did well.
  6. Wow, I thought for sure that he was going to Oklahoma St. But congrats to the Hawkeyes, they sure could use him. Hopefully Bo does great.
  7. Well I hope that Gable is 100% committed and will try to get back on our Senior MFS team. Hell I would also he to give Greco a try as well
  8. Well I would love to see Bo Nickal get back into wrestling. I think that he would be great at either 86, or 92.
  9. Well he certainly placed the highest, and Spencer was only down by criteria until the very end, Brooks meanwhile had a semifinal match that many people thought he should have won, and I don’t know if anyone could have predicted that Yazdani would end up with a significant shoulder injury. But at the end of the day both Spencer and Aaron became Olympic medalists, and who was closest to a Gold medal is really a matter of opinion.
  10. These three come to mind, SnyderMan, Spencer Lee, Brent Metcalf
  11. You are right, sometimes the best wrestlers don’t make the best coaches, but I think Spencer brings certain things to the table, (1) he is a Hawkeye, and that alone may be enough to satisfy the Iowa faithful as well as those who make the decisions behind closed doors. (2) Spencer now possesses an Olympic Silver medal which is an accolade that certifies his ability to be among the elite in the world. But all this is just conjecture, his talents may lie elsewhere and who knows what Spencer will want when he hangs it up.
  12. I have to believe that Spencer is the Heir Apparent and this point in time, but things change. I have to wonder how much time Dake or the SnyderMan have left as competitors. If they were to retire how much interest would they draw. Add in what if this happens and Spencer is still competing, do you go out and try and land one of them or maybe JB if he’s has hung it up. Or does the Brand Bros, stay until Spencer is ready.
  13. UNI looked good, nice job with a convincing win.
  14. Congrats to Army, nice job
  15. I’m sure that these two will meet again at some point later in the year. So I think it will just add to the intrigue
  16. This should be a great move for Zahid
  17. I agree
  18. Congrats to our three guys, job well done
  19. Anyone have any information on Spencer Lee and why he didn’t compete ?
  20. Although Stanford lost, I thought they looked pretty good, Props to the coaching staff.
  21. Well it’s true that a lot of our best may be nearing the end of their competitive careers and Japan does seem to be on a roll right now, but I am pretty excited about all of our young stars coming up through the ranks. So I think our golden age will be continuing.
  22. PJ Duke looked very impressive over Andonian.
  23. Well congrats to DT on an absolutely amazing career as a competitor, and now we will get to see his journey as a coach, which should be phenomenal for us fans.
  24. Well I believe that DT got the big money partly because of his accomplishments but also because he was part of Cael Sanderson’s epic and continuing run, and the belief is that DT can replicate that at Oklahoma State. Now obviously JB has the accolades, but he is a product of Nebraska, which is an elite program, but does that translate into the same level of salary that DT received.
  25. So is DT really done? I believe that he is, and if so, does Aaron Brooks immediately move to 92, to build towards 97 in 2028? And if that happens, who do we see as the new 86 Kg rep for us?
