  1. I never said that they were unsuccessful but rather that they had large cuts. Plenty of wrestlers with huge cuts have had success - Jordan Oliver, Alex Dierringer, the Hidlay brothers, etc come to mind.
  2. Davis, Haines, Starrocci here all huge at their weight classes and had to be pulling a ton of weight. Beau Bartlett is a good sized 141 pounder.
  3. I think the plan right now is for 157- Caliendo 165- Kennedy 174- Arnold 184- Brands All will be contingent on how the cut goes for Caliendo.
  4. A convincing win over Stemmet shows that he is at least a NQ type guy coming into the season.
  5. Voelker looked like a full sized 97kg wrestler at U23's. I am sure that he has a decent cut to get to 197.
  6. Gunderson is huge at 86kg. I would be very surprised if he could suck down to 174. They also have CJ Walrath who had a nice redshirt season with a win over Gavin Kane. I wonder if we see PK and Voelker go up a weight class and Gunderson/Walrath battle for the 184 spot? I believe that the cut for PK is significant.
  7. That is fine with me lol. Sounds like a badge of honor. He has not been the only one talking about how the portal has been "dead" this year but I guess I see it differently.
  8. He is also a young man that is growing. It is not unreasonable to assume that he is growing out of 149 as evidenced by his failure to make 154 (70kg).
  9. Has it really been abysmal? Hamiti, Hendrickson, Parco, Amine, Cardenas are all multi AA’s. Throw in guys like Cooper Flynn, McGonagle, Fish, Whiting, Askey, Endene and probably 20 other guys in forgetting and it’s been a pretty fruitful transfer portal season.
  10. If Ybarra wrestled folkstyle like he does freestyle he would be in the mix as well. He beat Julian Farber and was right there with Dom Serrano at U23’s.
  11. I’d look for Schriever at 133. Peterson had offseason surgery
  12. I think Jamison intends to move up to 149 next year. His dad said that it was a very tough cut for him but he would do whatever is needed for the team.
  13. Kannon looked as big if not bigger than Taylor.
  14. @jajensen09 is Pinto going 174 next year?
  15. Good call on Webster & Mullen/Kueter. Those ones slipped by mind as first year starters. Barraclough made one post season start, right?
  16. Here is an attempt to pick one at each weight 125- Luke Lilledahl 133 - Cael Hughes 141- Ryder Block 149- Kaleb Larkin 157- Raphael Hipolito (maybe I am missing someone else at this weight...) 165- Beau Mantanona 174- Gabe Arnold 184- Max McEnally 197- Connor Mirasola HWT- Aden Attao
  17. Gable Steveson has signed with the Buffalo Bills! https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40250779/olympic-gold-medal-wrestler-gable-steveson-signing-bills
  18. The question is whether or not we actually believe that. If so, Cael could be an olympic champion at 97kg right now.
  19. Jett Strickenberger is a recent example. He was a NQ at 125 for WVU last year. Did not have a good NCAA tournament but had some nice wins over the year.
  20. If Carter goes 174 or 184 there would be a match up with KOT or Keckeisen. Both would be great.
  21. I believe that Jerry Best was a 3x DII National Champ.
  22. OK 4x undefeated champs are Kenny Monday (had one tie), Jerry Best, Teyon Ware, Kaden Gfeller, Daton Fix and Cael Hughes.
  23. Fan is short for fanatic. Lol
  24. I have not seen enough folkstyle either to make a proclamation of a title threat. His freestyle results have been very good. Fix seems to think he’s the real deal.
  25. I think he’s in the AA mix right off the bat. OK State always wrestles a tough schedule so we will know quickly where he stands. Crookham is the early favorite but is not head and shoulders above the rest at this point. What do you think Fly?
