Okay, that makes sense. Cunningham is quickly rising. Will be interesting to see if he rises to the level of some of the other recruits that they are bring in like Sealy, Ryder, Mirasola, etc.
Also a possibility that Brooks has a strength advantage. He looked massive and pushed Trent Hidlay around very effectively with that underhook. I favor DT but Brooks wrestled him tough last year and looks better than ever right now.
I was very surprised to see someone other than Jordan Wood win this bracket. I thought he was head and shoulders above the rest but I was clearly wrong.
Jax Forrest is really, really good but we can’t forget that he just lost to another high schooler (that is not particularly highly ranked) a month or so ago. He also has dropped some other matches over the last couple of years. His style is wide open offense and he is likely to be a point scoring machine at the next level. He will be fun to watch. Seems like a great kid as well.
Ragusin looked great this year at 133 is a legit contender at that weight. I wonder if we see Cannon attempt to go 125 to get in the lineup. A lineup of 125-Cannon, 133-Ragusin, 141-Lemely is salty.
Does Pearsall have the credentials to take over this type of program? I know they are not a top tier program, but they are very solid. I think Valenti is a significantly higher profile hire than Pearsall would have been.
