  1. Thank you, Jack. Very insightful. Have a blessed day.
  2. And you can’t count out Kasak, with whom I like his seed, or Nagao, who may pour on the juice come March 20th.
  3. Or until he rolls into the season next year with a DeAustustino beard.
  4. Heavenly Father, As I, Aaron Brooks, lace up my shoes and prepare to step onto the mat, I pause to acknowledge Your presence in this journey. You have blessed me with strength, determination, and the spirit of a warrior, and for that, I am eternally grateful. Lord, I ask that You guide my movements and sharpen my instincts. Let my training manifest in every takedown, every escape, and every point I score. May my actions reflect the discipline and respect I have for this sport and my opponents. Grant me the courage to face each challenge with a steadfast heart, and the humility to accept victory or defeat with grace. Help me to remember that through You, all things are possible, and that every battle I face is an opportunity to glorify Your name. Protect me from injury, and let my performance today be a testament to the hard work and dedication that has brought me to this moment. May I compete with honor, and should I emerge victorious, let it be a victory for You. In Your holy name, I pray, Amen.
  5. Good to see Penn State’s “third seed” at the beginning of the season get the top spot. 125 is so unpredictable this year that I expect the unexpected. And the unexpected is every wrestler placing exactly as they’re seeded. Like the hairs on Shane sparks’ head, not a single 125 pounder is out of place.
  6. I heard CS, CS, and CC taught the PSUW’s more about G and T than most schools. Take IU for example. TB and TB had a run through the LTY’s with AS, SL, MM, and PL who all had KT tape on there A and L’s. It’s wild to think about it all.
  7. In two seconds, I’m hitting Carter with a blast double and putting him through the scorers table before the ref can stop it for the medical forfeit.
  8. Jimmy’s post sums it up.
  9. He moves like a gazelle out there and has that smooth, even tan that makes me jealous. I’ll give him that. Can’t think of a specific example of him missing a call because I usually fall into a blind rage and blackout, so don’t ask. But he’s put up a couple on par with Levi v Lewan stall calls that have made me kick more than one hole in the drywall. And to my landlord - no, I will not patch that up.
  10. I recently paid him a compliment somewhere. Said he was doing a damn good job. And he’s off the hook thanks to whomever hit Levi with stalling against Lewan. Having said that, I will continue to boo Angel whenever I get a chance. I choose to be this way. Thanks.
  11. Angel Rivera v Penn State Tom Brands v his blood pressure cuff Aaron Brooks v a major religion and its 2 billion people.
  12. I don’t watch much wrestling, but I caught a bit of the 157 lb bracket at Big 10s. Looked like Michigan knows how to stay in their stance in the standing-up (“neutral” I think it’s called?) position, but they haven’t quite figured out what a shot is. Developing talent aside, they had to use an emaciated homeless guy to fill their roster at 125. I’m not sure I can support that kind of exploitation.
  13. How much alcohol does the average poster here consume in a day? It has to be in the gallons.
  14. Haines is my boy. Looks like he rides his surfboard to practice. But just picture a universe where Lewan wins in SV because they hit Levi with stalling. Might be enough to make Cael take the Lord’s name in vain.
  15. And locked hands. Williams taking two gold medals in this thread.
  16. Champs: Davis Nagao Bartlett Kasak Haines Mesenbrink Starocci Barraclough (bumped up) Brooks Daniel Gregory Kirk Fleet
  17. I hope he’s just holding back so that he can drop the hammer on the mic after he decks Hidley. TSA is going to need a little extra funding in the coming months.
  18. Sounds like a wonderful way to supplement Sunday mass when my truck runs out of gas and I don’t have time to siphon any from the car parked furthest from the grocery store entrance.
  19. Jesus…you just sent me scrambling for ways to help figure this connection out. Just realized it’s Joseph Smith, not John. You owe Cael an apology.
  20. Davis is clearly a good kid - humble, hard working, focused. Just a little soft spoken. Only thing softer than his words are those two big baby soft cheeks of his that hide the fact that he’s got man strength. It’s so deceptive. Everybody probably thinks they’re going to muscle him around - Barnett made that mistake, McKee, that homeless guy from Michigan he wrestled twice. By the time they realize he’s a shapeshifter, it’s too damn late.
  21. I want to kindly remind everybody that Aaron Brooks said his underhooks came from the Lord, and about Yazdani, “where’d he get his underhooks? Some club coach?” This is one of the greatest things I’ve heard in a wrestling interview. Braeden Davis’s interview is up there now. Hammering everybody with “I don’t know”s. Just putting the journalists through their final exam. So bad it’s good. And these are seasoned interviewers who have practiced being stonewalled by Cael for over a decade. Still couldn’t squeeze a drop of info from Davis. Damn. Bet that double he buried McKee with in the last second came from the Lord and not some club coach. He’s keeping his cards close though. Not letting anybody know where he got that double leg.
  22. BEG wrestling, the kings of butchering names, pronounced his last name “Hot Mocker”. After he got beat in his first match, Zach kind of mumbled “more like a ‘Cold Mocker to me…’”. I cannot shake that from my memory. Makes me laugh half a dozen times a day. I am completely aware it isn’t THAT funny. I just can’t shake it. It’s an intrusive thought at this point. I have no idea how to really pronounce his name. He’s just Hot Mocker. Seems like an ok kid. I wish him well.
  23. Get pops Ferrari coaching. His three boys out there. Just need a couple other kids, who you could find a stack of cash to make that work, and you’re winning most of the matches most of the time. Bada bing…
  24. I want an Aaron Brooks, Greg Kerkvliet podcast to follow. In the 6,000 years that this planet has been around, that’d be one of the greatest things man could possibly see.
