  1. gimme blaze over suriano (I feel actually fairly confident about this) and Jax over Gilman (I don't feel strongly about this but it would be insane).
  2. Valencia is a pretty put together young man I could potentially see him at 149 he was significantly bigger than Bassett in the eye test to me and comparable to ashnault.
  3. my guess is that Valencia goes right away for Stanford I think hes an immediate AA contender.
  4. Trent and Aaron are the only guys to my knowledge dropping weight, but Trent made 88kg in season so I can't imagine it's that much of a pull for him and I would imagine the same is true for Aaron.
  5. Absolutely the win over Joey holds a ton of weight but Jesse is a returning junior world silver at the same weight and has the 2-1 edge in folk. They don't have an exact seeding criterion so I just expected them to be much closer in seed. Pantaleo qualifying via 70kg at pan ams being above Jesse I guess is the most surprising to me.
  6. Jesse at the 11 feels criminal to me with Beau at the 5.
  7. Starocci vs Trent is a match I never thought I would see but I am absolutely here for it. I feel like Yianni got a very favorable draw, Larkin first match is not ideal but is one I certainly expect him to win, and then he will get zain fresh off the scale which seems to be the more winnable matchup for him than Lee before accounting for the cut. Chance vs Zahid is a very interesting matchup stylistically I'll be interested to see if zahid can open him up.
  8. Forrest vs gillman 2 hours give or take off the scale... color me interested.
  9. I think MM's leg defense is really the only part of his game that is not world class I think JB gets to his legs a bit too often early and he overpowers him. If MM can keep it relatively close late he could definitely run him down though. I would actually pick qunicy over MM though he had a 1 point match with nolf and teched marinelli at the BF and senior nats.
  10. just a day after pyles says "all news from the penn state camp is that the cut is going well for carter" he declares for 86kg lol.
  11. Oh I had not heard that, I could be completely off then he just looks enormous to me but I know he's on the shorter side.
  12. V-tech is looking to have a pretty damn good team next year though I think Hipolito and sasso are difference makers right away as redshirt freshman. I expect Hipolito to take some bumps early but he is super athletic and fun to watch. I'm guessing Henson goes 157 and then church slots in at 149 who I have pretty high expectations for.
  13. Eddie ventresca despite having a terrible start to the year to my knowledge has beaten Cooper everytime they've wrestled. They also have I believe a 4x ohio state champ coming in at 125 so perhaps the room just got too crowded. He also intended to olympic RS this year and then that got pulled with Ventrescas injury so I wonder if that ruffled some feathers.
  14. Blaze has much better-quality wins overall and a better overall body of work, PJ is just significantly more separated from his class in terms of guys around his given weight than blaze is. From a p4p perspective I would have Blaze higher but from a recruiting perspective I think more often than not the heavier guys win out because there just is not quite as much overall talent.
  15. Sealey is a senior so disregard that.
  16. Chances elbow I believe at cadet worlds in 2012?
  17. he nearly teched vince bouazakis in the s32 finals 2 years ago and went up two weights to beat ladarion lockett in an all-star match event. I dont know if ive seen someone with as many varied attacks on their feet at such a young age. The only thing that could limit him is injuries, I believe hes had two semiserious surgeries already, but I think he's the best recruit for his class in terms of separation from guys around his size. 125-141 just has a ton of kids that are going to be great whereas 157-165 for his class the only guy that really rivals him in any capacity is Sealey.
  18. I cannot imagine Coleman left a head coaching position at UNC without it being essentially a done deal that he got the job after John retired. The kids seemed super receptive to Coleman coming in as well when flow was interviewing them.
  19. his win in 18 was his best performance imo but thats rather obvious he did not give up a point. Id say 2019 and 2021 were dominant as well only giving up 6 points in 19 and 4 in 21. His margin of victory dwindled quite a bit in 22 and then even more so in 23 as well as taking a loss. Im not gonna use a sidakov loss as a sign that someone is declining but perhaps the discrepancy in margin of victory could suggest that. So one could argue if you think 21 was close to KD's peak could he have fallen off enough and could JB still be at the same level with some new found motivation to potentially snag the series? More than likely I'm trying to convince myself of something that just won't happen, I honestly don't even know that JB's my pick to win the challenge tournament hes gotta beat a lot of bad bad dudes.
  20. ben was saying that Keegan talked him through what to do to attack Dakes legs and then sidakov did exactly that. Id have to listen to it back but I believe it was a head inside single where you put the head under the ankle so that he cannot post off that foot to go chest wrap.
  21. the match will likely come down too if Jordan has figured out the chest wrap position. I don't think hes going to be able to but if he does he can certainly win.
  22. I think Pitt or Rutgers would be good landing spots for him. although Pitt has santaniello for 3 more years as well as tallamadge now.
  23. I really like Christian I do think he fence sits way too much and think hes a bit preferential to the big two programs but hes media so I can't exactly hate on him for that. It just seemed like a very odd topic to take a stance on with Tom Ryan.
  24. thats the downside too aging backwards. Its hard to bomb someone when you're 12 years old
  25. yeah Its probably unlikely he ends up at 141 I think he originally moved up to 133 just because he was not beating Peterson.
