World OG qualifier brackets are out...
Truzzcat replied to maligned's topic in International Wrestling
this is honestly the best portion of the bracket he could be on though so he should not be too upset. disregard this he has winner of kentchadze Valiev r3 and then likely Kuramagomedov. -
It would ultimately be up to Alirez on what weight he wants to go but I like Williams upside training with Alirez/Parco + being coached by Dt more than Tagens in this hypothetical lineup.

I Prefer Zou and Sarlak over Aman for spencer. His gas tank seemed very good at trials but given his history with it Aman scared me a lot because he has one of the best motors ive ever seen. I like the Zou matchup super fundamental and positionally sound but should wrestle at Spencers pace and I just don't think anyone beats Spencer in a chess match. As for Sarlak I think it comes down to winning the handfight and not allows his ties mainly the underhook which I think Spencer should be just fine doing. As for Zain. Ochir is one of the best guys In the world I think zain needs to get through his earlier matches quickly so he can recover the cut will be hard and Ochir is probably consistently better than anyone he wrestled at trials. If he beats Ochir he should certainly beat kadiev. out of Sujeet and jalolov I do not know which is better for him. Jalolov beat sujeet at the Asian qualifier so I guess I would expect him to win again. Jalolov lost to nick lee last year 4-3 at worlds but he was only 20 or 21 at the time so you would expect hes making decent strides still. He has also had some razor thin matches with Ochir. Sujeet of course has the win over Yianni before Yianni went on to win silver so he is very dangerous but he seems to have not found that form he had in 2022 as of recent. All in all its about as bad as it could be for Zain I think he can absolutely do it and if he does he could absolutely win gold in Paris its just a very tough road. -
Um...is Trent Hidlay possibly our rep at 86kg?

I don't think it's so much there will be bad blood I just don't see how David could be in state college for 3 more months. you can start recruiting rising Juniors June 15th and I'm sure he wants to get in the room with the guys to mend any potential hard feelings. It would be hard as an athlete to have full confidence in a guy who got named your head coach in May and did not show up full time until almost September. -
Sorry for making a new thread but I thought this was worth it. But this guy flew DT out and is said to have guaranteed enough funds to bolster numerous olympic athletes to train in Stillwater for years to come. I assume he will also be a big part of NIL I think this is pretty notable given Okie state already had very good funding.

I think its just the m2 ties I think Ryder is the only guy that may go personally and maybe Duke or Perry flip but thats about it and I don't have high confidence in any of those things.

Ladarion was going to be a superstar regardless of his coach but he could be one of the greats with DT mentoring him. -

I do not think he could retroactively Olympic redshirt unless he had put in for it.

Ryder is the only guy I could see transferring. Duke, Desmond, Perry, Manville feel like recruits that could potentially flip I wonder if this helps or hurts their Jax Forrest sweepstakes I think he was pretty close with Coleman.

I think most people would do just about anything for a shot at a gold medal. When you look at the landscape it would be about 2.5 months of training and he's mentioned before that his wife really holds things down for him. I think that he would try and make it work. I do not think he would be training at NLWC though I would imagine Dake maybe splits time with him as well as Varner and he brings some guys in if this were to happen. Perhaps I'm looking at it with rose tinted glasses though because I believe David could still win gold and for Trent it would be an uphill battle for bronze. Dustin plott, Christian Carroll and chris perry would not be bad partners as well. -

I think trent can beat naifanov hes beaten amine and kentchadze albeit an undersized kentchadze but I think talent wise he'd be up there with anyone at 86kg. If kadiev ends up being the rep for Russia I think that makes the medal outlook a bit bleaker because I do not know that Trent or even Aaron beats him for sure that kid looks incredible. I really think ghasempour may be the tougher opponent for iran this year I think they send Yaz but I do not think he will be 100%. I do think DT will wrestle if AB cannot though. -
on the show Basch and Willie did last night Basch said he had heard Kennedy and Gillman.
-
has anyone reported anything besides Mineo? it's been 5 hours since he posted it and I have yet to see nomad,Willie,Basch,Flow say anything.

It would be absolutely invaluable for Merill to get to role with Wyatt for a year rather than just doucet and a beefed up chris perry and slimmed down christian carroll.
-
selfishly I'm hoping its okie state because I think if they could land him and potentially Alirez they would have a very fun team. However, for Wyatts progression Michigan definitely seems like the best landing spot unless gable starts to train at Minnesota again.

I'd also like to add how horrendous testing is in college wrestling. I personally think if you have a prescription, you should be absolutely allowed to take something so this instance is not really an example, but it just made me think. How do we have a considerable number of guys testing positive for things during international competition but never during the collegiate season. I have to think it's because guys are simply not being tested and I knew that was the case in smaller programs, but I guess I at least assumed maybe at NCAA's or conferences.

Mineo said on twitter that DT was never made aware of this situation (no idea how he knows that). If that is the case it makes you wonder how DT is currently feeling about PSU. Coming off the loss I'm sure it was a bag of mixed emotions given he lost to a teammate so this may add a little more salt to the wound.

appetite suppression and mental acuity would be the big two that come to mind. In the instance of him cutting weight at 2am and then being able to go and wrestle at a high level 8-9 hours later I'm sure it would also help. I remember it being pretty popular with cornerbacks in the NFL. I believe Richard sherman may have gotten suspended for it. All of the advantages are probably negligible but at the highest levels may give an edge. If he has a prescription, then I don't know how it matters though. What I am wondering is if DT was privies to this information and it is having an impact on his decision to take the job at okie state in case he will be wrestling.
