  1. Thompson to me is not near the loss Carroll is and, in all honesty, they had a lineup issue with Carroll and Merill and at worst I would say they are a 1 for 1 trade with Merill having more upside. All in all, Taylor is trying to change the program for the better and if that does not fly with guys, I think it's better that they go. If they are in the Bo and Jax Market with Ladarion coming in and some young guys on the roster their best years are ahead anyhow.
  2. He's from Utah, and ASU is very good at 165 and 174 with Teemer and Ruiz 157 may not be on the table for him anymore.
  3. I think the floor is probably much higher but nowhere near the top earners of the UFC. So it probably makes a lot of sense to start out there.
  4. I believe he got into 3 schools that had his master's program and one of them was PSU so if he wanted to wrestle, I think UVU and Arizona state were his only two options to continue his schooling.
  5. I think on flow they mentioned he wrestled for a week before u20's. I think it's safe to say come the season we could see an entirely different guy and by post season watch out.
  6. Hoping he goes the ufc route this was on fight pass so that's encouraging. A lot of guys have been going bellator and PFL which is still awesome but they dont get the media. Pico,JO,Meredith,Colgen,Sabbatello,Stotts,Palmer,Bubba are all in those orgs.
  7. I definitely would say Aaron has a chance but wrestling math does not really work in the way that Aaron beat David (who had been out of competition for a year so its hard to gauge where hes at) and thus will beat yaz because David did. Zahid was a singlet grab away from likely beating Aaron and he lost to a Ukrainian this year who got teched by dauletbekov who Yaz just teched. I could choose to infer from that result that Dauletbekov would tech Aaron but I do not think thats the case. Its just one guy with about as proven of a track record as there is vs a guy with two big senior level wins.
  8. takeaways from the ranking series Do not let Higuchi get on top of you. Harutyunyan wrestled up and beat a 2 time u23 medalist and world bronze from 2023 at 61kg who was a guy he previously got teched by a few years ago (Higuchi and Spencer are the only two big hitters we have seen down to weight Uguev and Stevan both also competed at 61 this year could be an edge for Spencer). Kiyooka proved the win over Otoguro was not a fluke he beat Mus and the Iranian he beat in the finals blanked Haji 6-0 everyone in this field did take at least one loss though which seems rather on brand for the state of 65kg. Zhamolov should be the guy for Uzbekistan he beat the guy who beat bekzod not a guy I would be happy about being on Kyles side. Trent looked great Yaz looked as good as ever Nobody really competing that feels like a threat to the big dogs at 97 not much to take away (as of now Sadulaev,Snyder and Taz are on the same side if seeds hold...) Mason looked awesome and while I never want someone to get injured, seeing the state geno was In gives me even more confidence in Masons draw at the olympics if seeds hold.
  9. I do not believe mason made any world teams before he was in college! Keuter I believe was stretched even thinner in high school aside from football he was all state in both track and Baseball. Im sure he trained a bit in the off season and he obviously competed a little but he has probably never dedicated more than 4 months in a year to wrestling.
  10. not sure he has quite the top game of pitzer, but I could see him giving guys issues their similarly as well as being far better from neutral.
  11. the good news is per Aaron "some club coach gave him his underhood, god gave me mine" Aaron talking about Yaz last year.
  12. Trent wrestled really hard too its not as if it was a diminished version of Trent.
  13. I thought Trent did ok with the handifght honestly every area of the match seemed competitive outside of on the edge and whizzer seatbelt where he got absolutely worked.
  14. zhamolov looked good
  15. does anyone know the ETA on yaz vs Trent they run this so slow
  16. The heroes we deserve just not the ones we need right now.
  17. looks really good. I am overly bullish on keuter because I think this is the first time in his life that hes going to dedicate more than 3 months exclusively to wrestling. Love that you have pitzer bouncing back.
  18. If Zhamolov wins in the finals I assume he will be the rep for Uzbekistan although he has not blown me away so far.
  19. does he lose a year of eligibility now? surely the 30 days was up with the coaching change.
  20. Id probably take Surber over Robb, or perhaps Merill makes the cut for one year. does this mean Carroll loses eligibility for this year?
  21. I agree and as you mentioned his results could very depending on how the cuts go. What already is a crazy weight could get even crazier if Echemendia and Alirez go up and both seem rather likely.
  22. I don't want to start a new thread for this but I do not hear anyone talking about Ty Whalen at 149 next year. He went 10-0 on a red shirt essentially he was training at the NJRTC with a win over two all Americans in Parco and Ty Watters. Should we pencil him in as a title threat or does he need a larger sample size.
  23. Pretty decent tournament for Austin, I think it's good he got to feel a lot of these guys. Was necessarily in it to beat anyone but was also not completely blown out of the water.
  24. I knew it all along... lets consider it reverse psychology Batir definitely was on the boards and saw that, fell right into my trap.
  25. kyooka is really really good
