  1. Shane lost to a true freshman and was competitive with another true freshman and a backup 157lber hes not that guy anymore and mehki has long since been the guy that was a b2b finalist and national champ imo. the weight itself only has 4 AA's. The hall match is somewhat of a concern but hes always wrestled Keegan well and is having a great year Julian took the lead on Keegan but ended up getting blown out. Im not trying to take away from Carter hes outstanding and has definitely distanced himself from everyone but foca and plott moving up to 184 whitlake and kharchla getting hurt brands suspension and labs graduating definitely thinned this weight out a ton from last year.
  2. id go 133 (vito at his best is the best guy in the world and I think daton poses a very tricky stylistic matchup for crookham) 157 (Meyer has been my pick all year and after the mauller match I am feeling better about it wrting cklv off to the concussion although a tournament setting still scares me for him) 149 (I personally think henson and gomez are as good if not better than ridge) 165 (I think keegan may be the best wrestler in college right now besides brooks but this weight is absolutely insane) 141 (real is great but he leaves it within the margins sometimes could see someone like beau or mendez beating him or even a guy like happle when hes hot) 197 (Trent is wrestling absolutely unreal dont give him a high probability but a chance against brooks) 184 (keck beat plott in a tight but fairly convincing fashion and I think hes the second-best guy aside from potentially foca 285 (yonger and wyatt can make it interesting if healthy) 174 (weakest weight in the country + t3 p4p guy imo)
  3. a 20- and 21-year-old that still made one team and lost to JO on criteria.
  4. im still very interested to see if carter can make 163 and if he can how he performs at that weight especially in a multi weigh in setting.
  5. I've got Yianni in 2 after his first year of being able to have his soul focus on freestyle what's everyone's predictions?
  6. she looks smaller in her Ig posts but not terribly sucked out
  7. id be fine with mitchell being high end tier 3 or moving hamiti, ramirez, olejnik up to tier 2 with him but I dont think you can put MM on tier island for albeit destroying a seemingly not in form amine and fish when ramirez has beaten carr and quincy twice last year and hamiti has bonused 3 guys in the same tier as him (ramirez, fish, hall)
  8. Has ridge ever beaten Austin I feel like he has a decided lead in the head to head. I personally think Caleb is the best guy in the country despite losing once to ridge.
  9. it'd be nice if cox finds his way to actually compete at trials this year! Not being a hater I love watching him wrestle the circumstances since hes decided to officially move up to 97 have just been insane.
  10. in regards to the seeding of Keegan if he splits with Carr. I would personally still seed him 1 if Mitchell runs the table and put Carr Mitchell at the 2,3. Assuming he goes into nationals with one loss and he wrestles everyone left on his schedule he will have likely beat hall 2x or olejnik 2x Ramirez and Carr on top of being a 2 time defending national champ. Mitchell would have Amine, fish, caliendo, hamiti as wins which are all great but given the landscape of this season does not quite compare. these wins could shape up to look differently by then, their are so many variables left still to account for but I personally would have a 1 loss Keegan at 1 however would understand Mitchell being there. selfishly I want to see Keegan against either Mitchell or Carr in the finals rather than the semis too.
  11. thats a very fair point he did 100% look out of shape he was blessed to beat goleji and looked terribly gassed in that match.
  12. Sad did not look stellar in his finals match against an albeit good but not great Russian. Granted hes not looked great there in years past and stormed through worlds but I think this years worlds may have been more of Sad regressing and less of a neck issue.
  13. by this criteria Meyer would have been ranked top 5 before the season started and then people would have complained he was overhyped after CKLV (he's my pick to win 157 and has been but just a comparison). Yes, we know these guys are good, but they have the opportunity to prove that and then they will be ranked accordingly.
  14. interesting to see rashidov seemingly back in form its been a while. Uhkmanov losing is a bit of a shock he looked dominant at worlds.
  15. I feel like they have to account for margin of victory which imo is not a great metric for ranking criteria but thats the only thing i can think of that would rationalize him being 1 given his bonus victories over guys they have highly ranked at the time. this is just me head cannoning it though they have pat mckee at 8 which I think is almost equally as shocking given hes 9-4 with one ranked win.
  16. 125: Drake Ayala dec Michael DeAugustino 3-0 133: Dylan Ragusin Md Cullan Schriever 4-3 141: Real Woods dec Sergio Lemley 6-4 149: Austin Gomez major Victor Voinovich 8-6 157: Jared Franek dec Will Lewan 9-8 165: Michael Caliendo Md Cam Amine 13-8 174: Shane griffith dec Patrick kennedy 13-11 184: Jaden Bullock dec Aiden Riggins 14-13 197: Zach Glazier dec Rylan Rogers 16-14 285: Lucas Davison major Bradley Hill 17-16
  17. I think people are underrating the year hamiti is having a bit 18-1 only loss 2-0 to Carr and an 84% bonus rate with a 15-0 win over fish (also a 5-3) 18-3 over hepner 2 pins over beau man, 2 majors over Cael Carlson who is having a bad year but is generally pretty tough and a 12-0 win over hall who has been great. I know he had the loss to olejnik but he lived on his legs just couldn't figure out that shin whizzer position where olejnik is outstanding.
  18. 125 - McCrone dec davis - 125 insanity continues mccrone gets a turn or hits a jonesy like he did against eddie (just a gut feeling) 3-0 OSU 133 - Nagao major bouzakis - 4-3 psu 141 - Mendez dec BB - 6-4 OSU 149 - D'Emilio dec Kasak - 9-4 OSU 157 - Haines dec Wilcox - 9-7 OSU 165 - Mesenbrink major Hepner - 11-9 PSU 174 - Starocci major Welsh - 15-9 PSU 184 - Truax dec rogotzke 18-9 psu 197 - Brooks TF Geog - 24-9 psu 285 - Kerkvliet dec Feldman - 27-9 PSU
  19. he's a sophmore blaze is a junior so both have more time in HS which is nuts.
  20. roman did not look stellar in france and i believe they were allowed 2kg itll be interesting to see how he does down at scratch weight spencer will also test his par tear defense
  21. I'm about as high on mitchell as it gets but given julian has wins over carr, quiny, griffith (when he was at 165) and dean has beaten the same guys barring amine as bad or worse as well as peyton hall I dont think you can rank mitchll ahead of him just yet. Thats not me saying he wont place higher I just think given you cant rank on freestyle he does not have the historic body of work yet.
  22. you can really tell zhamalov is coached by satiev with how he wrestles I think 2022 Russian nationals zhamalov could beat anyone I also think hes still only 25 certainly makes what was already probably the deepest or second deepest weight that much more interesting
  23. Bekzod (former clarion wrestler) had a great tournament at 74 and kadi recemented himself as a serious threat at the weight bizohev and baev wondering how many kilos they were allotted if making scratch 74 has been hindering his performances.
