  1. Tech had 3 finalists at fargo for their 2025 class in Ryan Burton, Aaron Seidel and Drew gorman the two former won the entire thing. Add that in with top recruits from this year like Gage Wright and Dillon campbell and things are looking good for the Hoakies.
  2. I don't know if any of you guys are betting men like me but I would be remised if I did not inform you all that you can get spencer at +600 Amouzad at +700 and Ochir at +1300 on betrivers.
  3. He looked really good, really tricky stuff from elbow control and super super fast.
  4. extremely bummed we did not get to see the bouzakis finals matchup but if he beats Jimenez he still will have beaten 5 nationally ranked guys in a row at 157 which he's probably small for right now. edit: checkout Aaron stewarts run at 165 in u16's he has actually been rag dolling people.
  5. I remember the hype around this match being insane however there were a lot of factors going on. This was Chances first tournament of the year and he was up a weight. Wiercoch was a 2x state champ and 3x finalist coming into it and it was in his home gym at cannon mac. The match certainly lived up to the hype.
  6. very good match
  7. He has not given up a point all techs into the fargo semis. He wrestles Maddox shaw there who has also absolutely demolished the competition hes actually been the most impressive wrestler to me because he use to just be a folk guy but he looks super dynamic on his feet a little tOSU vs OSU battle.
  8. Bishop Mccort put 7 in the quarters without 4 nationally ranked wrestlers Bassett,Magro,Slezdionowski,Rodriguez. This teams absolutely insane.
  9. He's really really good, Twice undefeated at elite 8 duals. Super 32 runner up this year but a bit of a shocking loss in all honesty up to the finals he had beaten Sam Herring 8-1 and Luke simcox 9-1. Ironically the guy he lost to in the finals Maddox Shaw had lost to simcox in the state finals the previous season. A bit of an always the brides maid never the bride type of career thus far. He's always been really good but as he has gotten bigger he seems to be getting even better, definitely a great get for okie state.
  10. I really hope hes safe and we get to see him compete moving forward.
  11. Main takeaways albeit not against great or even good competition this could be our best u20 team ever and I think it probably will be PJ duke p4p may be the strongest wrestler Ive ever seen I think Bo Bassett may run into problems against elite leg attackers with pulling guys into his legs (this is really nitpicking hes a freak I just noticed a few times in this tournament that he does it and he did it at who's 1 with zepeda as well as against kolodzik and Vega. He does have really really good hips though.) Ladarion lockett is a sponge im not sure how long he was training with Carr but he looks like a clone of him already now
  12. I think a World Cup with Russia,USA,Iran,Azerbijan,Japan,Mongolia would be really really awesome. I honestly think Iran could have as good of if not a better team than Russia this year they can win 65,86,125 pretty realistically. With an outside shot at 97.
  13. I don't necessarily disagree, I think the caveat is that Jordan was 30 and 31 when they wrestled so you could definitely argue not Jordan in his prime which I think was probably 2011-2017.
  14. I would not be surprised if whenever he left for Paris was the last time he sets foot in Russia.
  15. This is honestly really shocking to me since the Russian federation opted to not send any of their wrestlers. I wonder if he will be defecting after the Olympics I hope they will just allow it and move on but that does not seem very Russia.
  16. Free and Folk are certainly not a 1 for 1. However when you account for the fact that be beat Ashnault a few weeks after his folk season ended (ashnault has been wrestling exclusively free for 2-3 years) and that he has two years of high school development left before he even touches a college match (on a roster) I think it's fairly safe to say his ceiling being low AA is a dog water take.
  17. Never forget Malik has a win over a guy that pinned Gillman! I agree 100% I think in Kurt and Maliks case coming into college they were almost small for 50kg I guess I more so meant guys that are cutting a bit to make 113 or are comfortable at 120 and aren't really growing a ton more in terms of structure.
  18. There are definitely genetic anomalies, but I don't think you can be a current day collegiate athlete and get away with not lifting even if you're Aaron brooks, I just don't think the coaches would allow it.
  19. it would appear that he lifted all throughout college but has not been lifting since thus he has decided that his physique Is not the result of lifting but in fact just wrestling.
  20. Listening to Spencers interview on flow, he speaks about how he feels 125 is too small of a weight for the modern day male. I think this was a general sentiment but especially in regards to the collegiate season. He mentions how he thinks it will get even worse in the coming years and attributes the roller coaster that is 125lbs to this. It made me wonder if you are a college coach are you looking to recruit and undersized guy who may not be quite as elite as say a guy who was making 126 his senior year of high school. An example of this that I thought of was Ayden smith. Ayden is great hes a 2x 1st place guy in PA and he wrestled 113 the entire year regardless of the 2lbs. Now is he Luke Lilledahl obviously not, but I think he will comfortably make 125 for 4 years. Lilledahl is a poor example because he could be an all timer given his trajectory but the point im trying to get at is do you want the guy thats not quite as good right now but could make 125 his junior and senior year or the guy who's good right now but may end up at 133 after a year or two and has to cut his ass off.
  21. of the 150 true freshman AA's 6 of them or 4% came just last year with Stanich,Bailey,Kasak,Watters,Shapiro,Welsh.
  22. I think that most neutral fans will throw out "buts" and "ifs" in regard to Russia not being there. Which I think is only really fair to do at 74kg if Dake were to win. While Uguev, Sadulaev, Mamedov all very well could have won gold. All of them competed in worlds last year and failed to do so (only one of them came away with a medal). Chalk that up to whatever you want rust from not competing an off day etc... Point being Sidakov is the only guy who is the returning champ at an Olympic weight so I feel as though 74kg is the only weight someone could argue should have an asterisk and I would not be one of those people.
  23. I think his floor if he were in college next season would be low AA.
  24. I don't think Spencer has great odds but to say he has no shot is a bit insane to me. I would have probably said Stevan had no shot after seeing his draw last year, and now the field is weaker without Russia. Abakarov seems like a very bad matchup for Spencer but he could very well beat anyone in the field after all he beat Gillman two in a row.
  25. Downey leading Carter at the break after likely smoking backwoods, and training in a high school at the age of 31 leads me to believe he could have been just about as good as anyone if he was dedicated from the time he graduated HS until present day.
