  8. This reminds me of a local coach. His dad was an All American in college so he has kind of an entitled attitude. When he got hired at a local high school he claimed he was going to weed out the weak and he was the new alpha. He ended up getting fired within a month.

  16. The shoes had been there for as long as anyone could remember. In fact, it was difficult for anyone to come up with a date they had first appeared. It had seemed they'd always been there and yet they seemed so out of place. Why nobody had removed them was a question that had been asked time and again, but while they all thought it, nobody had ever found the energy to actually do it. So, the shoes remained on the steps, out of place in one sense, but perfectly normal in another.

  22. Holm refused a plea offer that would have had him not do any jail time or very minimal, a few months, because he didn't want to plead guilty to something he didn't do.
